From Power Cats to Explorers: Nine Must-See Vessels Debuting at the Cannes Yachting Festival
Stunners from azimut, benetti, baglietto, ferretti yachts and more will be standout debuts at the first big show of the season..
Boat show season kicks off next month with the arrival of the Cannes Yachting Festival. The annual event, which takes place from September 6 to 11, 2022, will showcase one of the largest collections of European and world debuts in years. Visitor attendance is also expected to hit record highs, with potential owners keen to catch the first glimpse of the latest launches from the world’s top shipyards. Here are nine boats making world premieres on the French Riviera.
Baglietto Dom 133 ‘Attitude’
Presenting 133 feet of Attitude , this yacht is the second of six Baglietto DOM 133 models. The exterior was designed by Stefano Vafiadis with an interior by Ezequiel Farca. Attitude was built to cross oceans with a 3,500-nautical-mile range. A key feature is the split-level beach club with a hydrofloor infinity pool, meaning the pool floor can be raised flush to expand the footprint of the cockpit. With a seven-foot draft, it’s an ideal bluewater cruiser that can access shallow waters.
Benetti 37M B.Yond
Goga , the first of Benetti’s new 37M B.Yond series, brings zero emissions to a pocket explorer. The 121-foot yacht forms part of Benetti’s Voyager series and was the last project in collaboration with designer Stefano Righini before his death. It’s billed as the greenest boat in its class, thanks to SCR catalytic filters and a Siemens E-mode hybrid system that tailors energy consumption to guests’ usage. On the inside, Mauro Izzo’s white interior is stunning but not over the top, with details like a walk-in wine cabinet on the upper deck to enhance life on board. The B.Yond’s rear quarters is another noteworthy detail in this new design. The stern’s fold-out terrace adds an extra layer of gracious living at the water line.
Ferretti Yachts 860
Bringing art deco-inspired beauty to Cannes this year, Ferretti’s 860 flybridge yacht pairs Italian elegance with performance. Floor-to-ceiling windows, cutaway bulwarks and a glass transom provide uninterrupted views from the main deck. It’s separated from the semi-raised pilothouse by a fully enclosed galley. Despite measuring only 88 feet, the tri-deck design optimizes space. On the asymmetric flybridge an optional jacuzzi, sunpads, second helm and al fresco dining area ensure the small footprint uses every square foot. A choice of three hardtops adds an extra layer of customization. On the lower deck, a drop-down swim platform is teamed with a water-level tender garage, large enough to store a 13-foot tender.
Apreamare Gozzo 45
This large Italian gozzo design brings a dash of elegance to the Cannes lineup of classy cruisers. Conceived by Cataldo Aprea, naval architect Marco Casali of Too-Design and Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design, the round-stern gozzo styling of this 45-footer centers around outdoor spaces. They include the swim platform, two large sunbeds and a dining table for eight in the cockpit. At the bow, more oversized sunbeds create a lounge area accessed on both sides. High bulwarks keep guests splash-free when the boat is under way. Below decks, owners can choose between a two-cabin layout with dinette, or a three-cabin layout, both with two bathrooms.
TecnoRib Pirelli 50
Designed by TecnoRib in collaboration with the Mannerfelt Design studio, the Pirelli 50 is suited for daily use, as a support vessel for superyachts or standalone go-fast boat for mid-range cruises. The 49-foot walkaround will make its world debut at Cannes this year, combining practicality with peformance. Aggressive, fast and attractive—with teak decking and a slanted hardtop over the cockpit—the boat’s joystick controls create easy maneuvering, while two Mercury Verado 600s pack 1200 horsepower for a 50-knot top end. Two sunpads at the stern and a bow lounge area open up the boat’s social possibilities.
Invictus GT320S
As the fourth outboard model from Invictus, the GT320S twins the Italian shipyard’s characteristic half-reverse bow with a neat and linear profile. But all eyes will be on the large living area when the nippy 33-foot cruiser debuts at Cannes, which replaces the space occupied by the engine room on the sterndrive version. A small bimini provides shade and can be swapped out for an optional carbon hardtop. The design also includes integrated lighting, an added feature typically found on much larger boats. A pair of Yamaha outboard engines with 300hp come as standard, though the boat accommodates engines up to 900hp that deliver a blistering 50-knot top speed.
Azimut Grande 36M
Designed by Alberto Mancini to evoke a feeling of being completely immersed in nature, the Azimut Grande 36M attempts to be one interwoven space. Full-height windows, a walkaround upper deck that runs from bow to stern and a sky lounge with oversized slide-away glass doors all contribute to the indoor-outdoor connection and informal ambience. An all-glass hot tub on the sundeck adds style. The 118-footer’s large beach club delivers waterside sophistication. Forming part of Azimut’s Low Emission range, the Grande’s lightweight carbon-fiber superstructure helps reduce fuel consumption by 20 percent, according to Azimut, while the displacement-to-planing hull (D2P) bolsters cruising efficiency by 40 percent.
Prestige M48
Making a multihull entrance at Cannes is the Prestige M48. It will be the first power catamaran from French builder Prestige Yachts. Taller than other power cats, its multiple outdoor spaces include a flybridge with dining area and second helm, and a beach club terrace that suspends guests over the water. Inside, a deep bridge deck links the two hulls, which creates enough space for full-beam cabins. Powered by twin 320-hp Volvo Penta D4s, Prestige says the boat is 20-percent more efficient than a similar-sized monohull when cruising at high speeds.
Riva 102 Corsaro Super
Silver, sporty and with an arrowhead bow, the first model in Riva’s 102 Corsaro Super range looks like a speeding bullet. The 99-footer is the successor to Riva’s enduring 100 Corsaro model, designed by Officina Italiana Design, Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group engineering department. Owners can choose from two interior configurations. There are also two engine setups: MTU 16V 2000 M96 engines for a top speed of 26 knots, or twin MTU 16V 2000 M96Ls that produce 28 knots. The yacht’s 377-sq.ft. beach club adds another element to the yacht’s gracious waterside living.

This new model will set sail for sustainable and comfortable yet thrilling cruises!
All these premieres and many more will be waiting to be discovered from 6 September to 11 September 2022 in the exceptional setting of Cannes during the Yachting Festival, the inaugural event of the nautical season and the largest in-water show in Europe.

Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 Is Only a Month Away
With one month to go before it opens, the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is confirmed as the Europe’s largest in-water show. For 6 days, under the sun of the French Riviera, the finest gems of the seas, the latest nautical equipment, exclusive high-end services and numerous innovations will all be on display.
The layout of the show changed in 2019 – all the sailing yachts are now displayed in Port Canto at the other end of the Croisette, leaving motor boats to fill the space vacated at the original Vieux Port location. The brokerage sector stayed at Port Canto as usual.
The Vieux Port, one of the oldest on the Côte d’Azur, plays host each year to the most prestigious boats presented by the world’s leading shipyards. Dedicated exclusively to the motor nautical industry, some 490 boats from 5 to 45 metres long are expected to be on show, of which 80 (less than 10 metres long) will be exhibited on land.
Port Canto, on the other side of the Croisette, is the second port in Cannes. It is divided into three separate areas:
The Sailing area installed since 2019 is the biggest global in-water showcase for new sail yachts. The width of its 4,000 m2 quayside area means visitors can enjoy their visit in comfort. This magical place offers a view of the 115 monohull and multihull boats from 10 to 28 metres on show.
Also in the heart of the Sailing area, the “Innovation Village” was launched in 2021 and set up in partnership with Mer Angels & BNP Paribas Banque Privée . It showcases intelligent start-ups in the nautical sector offering breakthrough technologies or high added-value services.
From boat design to putting owners in contact with captains, these start-ups share the same values of supporting and developing the sea economy, while also protecting the seafaring space. These start-ups are creating the future of yachting: yachting that is more powerful, more responsible and more environmentally friendly.
The Yachts Brokerage area has, for 15 years, played host to the leading French and international players in the previously- owned yachts market. For 2022, a selection of previously-owned boats from 22 metres long will be available for purchase or rental. It will be possible to meet with the crews, explore their boats and share with them the elegance of their worlds.
Positioned opposite the previously-owned yachts area since 2018 the “Toys” area takes advantage of the wide areas of this dyke to exhibit on-land an increasingly large selection of sport, fun and nautical activities equipment. A fast-growing sector, “Toys” for the young and the not-so-young have become must-have equipment on yachts. Increasingly stylish, sporty, technical and eco-responsible, these toys are great fun and thrilling for those who use them!
Stay tuned, in the coming weeks we will reveal the great new sailboats that will make their debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022.

Vieux Port, Cannes
6 - 11 Sep 2022
By Katie Scott
Following on from a successful edition in 2021, the iconic Cannes Yachting Festival will return in 2022 with another fantastic array of yachts and exhibitors expected.
Located on the dual sites of Vieux Port and Port Canto in Cannes , the Cannes Yachting Festival (CYF) is one of the leading European fixtures of the yachting calendar.
Hosting an annual fleet of around 700 motor yachts, sailing boats, multihulls and tenders, visitors to the show have the opportunity to experience yachts first hand with onboard sessions and a rare opportunity to engage on sea trials throughout the duration of the event.
With clear cut zones for sailing boats and motor yachts, transition through the exhibits is seamless with complimentary transport to escort visitors from one marina to the other.
What to see at CYF 2022
As such a prestigious event of the season, the Cannes Yachting Festival is chosen by many shipyards to debut brand new models coming on to the market. With over 100 models annually showcasing their global or European debut here, there's plenty of wow factors around the vicinity of the exhibits.
In addition to the exemplary selection of yachts available to view, CYF is also known for its attractive auxiliary exhibits including the Luxury Gallery. Teeming with curate premium brands, there's a collection of high-end jewelry, fashion and nautical merchandise brands available to visit.
Enthusiasts for watersports and racing won't be disappointed with ongoing demonstrations on the water plus the annual Concours D'Elegance with vintage boats on display.
Visiting Cannes
Making the most of Cannes is an easy feat with so much to do just a stone throw away. La Croisette is naturally the place to start with close proximity to the CYF, but some of the best views can be seen from the Old Town known as Le Suquet.
The South of France is steeped in history and Cannes is no different with beautiful 12th-century chapels and an old harbour filled with exquisite bistro cuisine.

Countdown to Cannes Yachting Festival 2022: Canados Oceanic 143
- Top stories
The latest flagship of Canados’s Oceanic range is this impressive explorer-style yacht, which will make its debut at Cannes 2022.
The Canados Oceanic 143 features a short superstructure and a huge open aft deck, which is dedicated to fine dining and elegant lounging about, rather than the suite of tenders and water toys generally found aboard its intrepid cousins.
But it’s still a versatile platform with a broad appeal, its triple engines offering an impressive top speed, as well as efficient low-speed cruising for a range of 4,000 nautical miles at ten knots.
The upper deck is given over to the owner, with an ensuite cabin, private saloon and aft terrace, and an outdoor seating area forward, providing a spectacular vantage point.
The wheelhouse is down on the main deck, practically on the bow, with the galley and day head behind it, and the modest deck saloon. The main seating and dining areas are outside.
On the lower deck there are two twin-berth guest cabins and two double VIP suites amidships, with the crew accommodation forward. One central staircase serves both areas.
The designers have thought hard about soundproofing the accommodation areas, placing the engines and generators as far aft as possible and insulating them not just with structural bulkheads but with the side-loading tender garage which sits just aft of midships.
The Canados Oceanic 143 has a fibreglass hull and Kevlar superstructure. Its sophisticated hull shape is of the type we first saw on the Oceanic 90 – a two-step medium-V designed for optimum fuel efficiency in both planing and transitional modes, augmented with a lengthened waterline and bulbous bow for maximum range at low speeds.
With the engines right aft, prop tunnels help to reduce shaft angle and keep the draught down.
Canados Oceanic 143 specification
LOA: 142ft 7in (43.45m) Beam: 27ft 0in (8.22m) Engines: 3 x 2,400hp Cat C32B Top speed: 24 knots Starting price: Available on application

Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is coming up: all details unveiled
It is now just under two months until the start of the boat show season and, this year, the first appointment will be from 6 to 11 September with the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 , an event where visitors will be able to see numerous boats of all types and sizes and, above all, attend some world premieres. Online pre-sales are now open, the only way to buy the different types of tickets. The starting price is 19 euros for one person and one day’s visit, up to 1166 euros for two people and six days’ visit, with VIP services, including courtesy cars provided by the Bentley partner.
The exhibition areas of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022
The most luxurious international boatyards will have their own space for yachts over 22 metres at the Jetée , and some 30 motor yachts over 24 metres will be moored at the Super Yachts Extension (SYE), an extension of the harbour made up of three floating barges, set up for the show.
On the opposite side of the SYE is the Quai Max Laubeuf, a marina that will welcome some 20 motor catamarans up to 24 metres long and 12 metres wide, along with 40 smaller monohulls. Ashore, there will be another 60 small rigid and semi-rigid motor boats, as well as an area dedicated to outboard and inboard engines.
New generation powerboats and luxurious daily boats will find their space along Quai Saint-Pierre, along with a number of medium-sized open and flybridge yachts.
Other motor boats up to 20 metres will be arranged in ascending order of length along the Pantiero , where more than 60 semi-rigids from 10 to 17 metres will be exhibited along with an area dedicated to some fifteen hybrid and electric boats. On shore visitors will find the shipyards and the marine equipment and accessories village, covering over 4600 square metres.
The other major exhibition area of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is Port Canto , Cannes’ second port, located on the other side of the Croisette and divided into three sectors.
The Sailing Area was created in 2019 and is now the world’s largest in-water showcase dedicated to new sailing yachts. Developed on 4000,000 square metres of wide quays, in order to increase the comfort of visitors, it will host 115 monohulls and multihulls from 10 to 28 metres. In the middle of this space, the Innovation Village has been present since last year and is dedicated to start-ups that share the same values of supporting and developing the sea economy.
In front of the second-hand boats, on the dock, there will be the Toys Area Furthermore, in order to reduce sea traffic inside the harbour, the sea trials area has been enlarged, accessible only if accompanied by an exhibitor.
A last and important novelty of the Cannes Yachting Festival is the Green Route , a route highlighting the eco-efficient solutions developed by exhibitors in order to reduce the environmental impact of the nautical industry on the sea and its ecosystems, with the aim of raising visitors’ awareness of the importance of eco-sustainability.
