Able to accommodate 10 guests in 4 staterooms, she has a beam of 30’ (9.2m) and a shallow draft of 6’ (1.83m), making her easily capable of cruising the Bahamas. Her accommodations include a master suite on the main deck forward, featuring a particularly large en suite with separate heads, a central Jacuzzi, and a large shower room. A full-beam double VIP, as well as 2 twin staterooms with 2 Pullman berths feature their own en suite, and are located on the lower deck. With impeccable maintenance throughout her ownership, a recent refit in 2015 kept her further updated with no cost spared.

The SEA RACER yacht for sale is a welcome addition to the Merle Woods & Associates fleet of fine superyachts for sale. This sleek, sporty, and very fast Feadship is one of a kind. We sold this yacht as DETROIT EAGLE, and we look forward to selling her again.

With an interior by yacht designer John Munford, the SEA RACER yacht for sale was created with madrone and anigre joinery. To keep the vessel as light as possible, interior bulkheads are honeycomb-based, and furnishings are purposely lightweight as well. Neutral tones are highlighted by deep blue accents throughout the yacht, creating a space with understated elegance. Her formal dining area off the main salon has the option of being enclosed for private meetings or conferences.

Exterior decks aboard the SEA RACER yacht for sale are spacious, and feature abundant amenities. The main deck aft features a built-in sofa and a large table for al fresco dining or simply enjoying the 180-degree views, with the protection of a hardtop. The bridge deck aft features a large U-shaped built-in sofa faced by ottomans, as well as a table forward. The quintessential sun deck features a raised Jacuzzi with surrounding sunpads, and 180-degree views.

Built to ABS classification with a 15-year special survey underway at the time of press, she was constructed of steel and GRP. Twin MTU 3,650hp engines are connected to a 5,600hp Lycoming/DDC gas turbine and offer a total of 12,900hp with a top speed of 34 knots. Her cruising speed is at 14 knots, with a range of 1,785nm. She is also fitted with recently updated NAVCOM equipment.

A Summary of Motor Yacht SEA RACER

The motor yacht SEA RACER is a 47 metre 153 (foot) generous aluminium boat which was produced by The Feadship De Vries Shipyard and her design plans were devised by De Voogt Naval Architects. Accommodating 10 guests and 10 qualified crew, motor yacht SEA RACER was named Detroit Eagle. This graceful boat has been envisaged by the naval architecture of De Voogt Naval Architects. John Munford was successful with the designing of the interior.

Construction & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht SEA RACER

De Voogt Naval Architects was the naval architecture company involved in the professional superyacht composition for SEA RACER. Her interior design was completed by John Munford. De Voogt Naval Architects is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. Created at The Feadship De Vries Shipyard the yacht was built in the known yacht building country the Netherlands. She was officially launched in Aalsmeer in 2001 before being handed over to the owner. A fairly large area is manifested with a total beam (width) of 9.21 m or 30.2 feet. With a 1.86m (6.1ft) draught (maximum depth) she is fairly shallow. The material aluminium was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is fashioned with the use of aluminiumandgrp. In 2007 extra refitting and updating was also performed.

M/Y SEA RACER Engines / Range & Speed:

Powered by three MTU / HONEYWELL-VERICOR codog engines, SEA RACER can attain a maximum speed of 34 knots. SEA RACER is propelled by twin screw propellers / 1wj (kamewa s series). She also has an efficient range of 3000 miles when motoring at her cruising speed of 22 knots. Her total HP is 12900 HP and her total Kilowatts are 9492. With respect to bow thrusters she utilises Holland Roer.

Sea Racer is a custom motor yacht launched in 2001 by Feadship in Aalsmeer, Netherlands and most recently refitted in 2007.

Based in the Netherlands and with roots dating back to 1849, Feadship is recognised as the world leader in the field of pure custom superyachts.

Sea Racer measures 46.63 metres in length, with a max draft of 1.83 metres and a beam of 9.20 metres. She has a gross tonnage of 516 tonnes. She has a deck material of teak.

Sea Racer has an aluminium hull with an aluminium superstructure.

De Voogt Naval Architects is an international company specialized in the design of luxury motoryachts upto a length of 100 meters. All Yachts designed by De Voogt are fully detailed and custum built, for the exclusive export market.

Her interior design is by John Munford Design.

We had an absolute blast! The dolphins didn't come out to play but the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I didn't realize it was customary to tip and don't carry cash. I wish they had a Venmo or cashapp queue code on the way out so I could have tipped the staff.

Kids and adults enjoy this fun dolphin cruise takes you far into the Atlantic to check out the dolphins - well far enough! Enjoyed it and saw about 10 dolphins total although you have to be patient as it's usually just a couple seconds to spot them. You will get wet and it's not great if you have motion sickness being Dramamine. Highly recommend!

First Mate, Emily was fantastic, funny, very personable. Captain Julio was an excellent dolphin seeker. We saw 30 or so dolphins and some jellyfish. 90 minute boat ride, not a bad seat on the boat. Went fast but not too fast.

Really wonderful tour! We went out on a hot August afternoon and were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins twice! We even saw a baby dolphin! The weather conditions were good and the sea was calm. First mate Jessica was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable. She provided us with a ton of interesting information on dolphins and the area. The tour is worth the price and made for a fun day out!

The tours was excellent. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. This is our second time with our little ones. I enjoyed it better this time because my children were a little bit older as the first time they were so little the Ride was excellent I love that we were able to see the dolphin, and Julio took his time until we could see the dolphins this was a nice experience I can definitely recommend it to anyone!! Great job guys. And of course Please don't forget to TIP these guys !!

Family time

The crew was amazing! Unfortunately we did not see any dolphins and realize they cannot guarantee that we will see them. We were quite bummed that they had to cut the trip short by 30mins due to some rain that came in. To make it even worse the rain only lasted 20mins! We were already wet so it would have been nice to stay out on the boat and enjoy the scenery. Even though we didn't see any dolphins the boat ride was fun!!

We value your feedback. You are correct that we cannot guarantee Dolphin sightings on every cruise because they are wild animals and unpredictable. If the boat returned early because of inclement weather it was because lightning was in the area and the captain is require to return to port and seek shelter. Thank you for the review.

We have been on 3 dolphin tours in Myrtle Beach. It is a tradition when we visit. Sea Racer was the best tour so far. We saw about 10 dolphins. The boat ride was amazing. If you get sea sick maybe not the best idea to go on a boat. The family next to us had 3 sea sick kids. BTW if you get sea sick don't put your head down look at the horizon.

I was so excited to take this tour. But once we got out towards the ocean, the seas were a bit rough and we got pummeled with water, and I'm not just talking about being splashed once or twice (which would of been fine, I expected to get a bit wet) but literally like someone throwing buckets of water at us for like 10 minutes. We were never advised to wear bathing suits or perhaps even to make sure our phones were protected. We were drenched to the core, I could not even wipe down my sunglasses because I did not have an inch of dry clothing on me and my purse was saturated with water and I might add that I could not even see because the salt water burned my eyes so bad that I could not even open them. My husbands phone got drenched and didn't work for days because it "detected water" and would not charge. And to top it off, we never saw any dolphins (not that I could see them anyways) . This was a one and done for us, worst boat ride EVER!!

Thank you for the review and feedback. There are days when sea conditions can make the ride wetter than normal and I apologize you were not given fair warning ahead of time.

Sea Raycers and the current state of Disney's boat rentals

There's been a bunch of different rumors and stories about what happened to the Sea Raycer "Water sprites" at WDW. I was told by a marina CM last year that they were sold, some people said they were destroyed among other things. Either way I don't understand why Disney got rid of them, I know for a fact that anyone who got a chance to rent one had the time of their lives. Renting these boats along with the pontoons are my favorite thing to do at WDW. The company that made the boats, Sea Ray, is still in business, so I don't think there was a parts / maintenance issue. I don't know when they first switched to this model of boat, I know it's been well over 10 years, so maybe they just reached the end of their lifespan. In that case you would think they would have bought new ones to replace them with rather than leaving a void of no rentals. There was also the Boston Whaler boats that disappeared with the Sea Raycers. I don't know if they got thrown out as well or if they are sitting backstage somewhere. Then there are the pontoons. They came back, albeit only available at certain resorts, and people are still renting them. I don't think there is a profit issue because prior to 2020, I remember trying to rent both the pontoon and motor boats and being turned away because they were all taken. I don't know about other resorts but at Fort Wilderness the dock that used to house the pontoons and sea raycers has been torn up in different spots. I can't tell if it's just maintenance or if they are getting rid of the dock entirely. What do y'all think? Are they gone for good or is Disney planning on bringing them back? Maybe a different model / brand will show up. Who knows.

The smaller boats were killed because it lost money for the company. The pontoons were kept only because the fireworks cruises and fishing tours make money.  

They got rid of them because they were a net loss, even though it offered an amenity at deluxe resorts. There's been a lot of hubbub about low fiscally performing add-ons being cut, even though they added value for guests, that doesn't present it itself in a finance presentation.

You know, sometimes you have to have things that loose money so you'd make it up elsewhere. They were part of reason we considered some hotels when booking.

Sad really. We won a free hour rental (pre-pandemic) and had a blast out on the water. We even rented another so we could all go. I agree, they were probably a loss with the staffing required and low rental costs. I also always wondered if the ferry boat captains hated them since they were tiny and guests are stupid.

I've always had a hard time believing that they were cash flow negative. On a fully burdened P&L, sure, but no way on cash flow. So they dump the "money losers" and then the majority of their burden then gets put on other things. But it did look like they were replacing the Fort Wilderness dock a few weeks back, so maybe a sign they are coming back.  

Even if they break even, you are tying up worker hours in an activity that is used by a small number of people. With workers scarce, you want them serving the most people possible. For example, do you want mechanics fixing buses that transport hundreds a day or small boats that maybe 10 people use? It is a shame that these little things get eroded away, but I can see why. It is possible these could return someday. Perhaps if Disney builds another resort near Fort Wilderness there will be more people and more reason to offer extra activities. Maybe a boat company will want to sponsor a service like that to boost awareness.

Does Disney need to make money on EVERYTHING? If they did get rid of the sea racers because they lost money, how much could it have been? I'm really sick of the everything for a buck motto. I paid $107 to ride Guardians on opening day. That was on top of the park ticket and the Genie plus charge.

They've been steadily removing resort recreational activities for 10+ years. You used to could rent all types of watercraft at Caribbean Beach Resort, Old Key West, Polynesian, Downtown Disney, etc. Guests are willing to pay for deluxe resorts without those activities. So, why keep them? People complain about what's happened to the parks in the last few years, but the Deluxe resorts have been decimated in the last 15 years. Maintenance neglected, theming stripped, water and landscaping features removed, lobbies homogenized, staffing reduced, transportation reduced, etc. What's happened to the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian alone is just sad. You would think WDW would take more pride in what makes it special. Uniquely themed deluxe resorts, recreational opportunities, unique transportation, etc. make it the vacation destination it is.

The boat was up to date nice and clean they had music and also drinks for sale. It was a 10/10 experience and definitely worth the money we paid !!! We once again were cancelled due to the weather. We wanted to reschedule for Friday, but were told they were cancelling Friday also. The award winning 46.63m/153' motor yacht 'Mystique' (ex. Detroit Eagle) was built by Feadship in the Netherlands at their Aalsmeer shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house John Munford and she was delivered to her owner in March 2001. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of De Voogt and she was last refitted in 2019.

Guest Accommodation

Mystique has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising one VIP cabin. The supremely spacious full beam master suite benefits from a his and her bathroom. She is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Her features include a gym and air conditioning.

Range & Performance

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by 1 x gas turbine DDC/MTU (FT50) 5,600hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 27 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 34 knots with a range of up to 1,253 nautical miles from her 42,900 litre fuel tanks at 14 knots. Her low draft of 1.83m/6' makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 8,560 Litres of fresh water. She was built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) ✠A1, Yachting Service, AMS classification society rules.
