The 68m/223'1" 'Loon' (ex. Icon) motor yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts is available for charter for up to 12 guests in 7 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Studio Linse.

From bow to stern, Loon is brimming with an fantastic array of social and dining areas, both inside and out, making her the ideal yacht for relaxing and entertaining whilst on charter. She is equipped with underwater lights, beach club and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2010, Loon offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin, two double cabins, two twin cabins and one cabin that can operate as twin or double. The master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room. There are 8 beds in total, including 1 king, 3 queen and 4 singles. Excellent service is guaranteed, with nineteen crew members on board to look after your every need.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on Loon is easy thanks to the available amenities such as a sauna to help you detox and regenerate. Guests can enjoy a dip in the pool or head to the beach club and take advantage of indoor-outdoor living and entertaining. Maintain your fitness routine and work out in the well-equipped gym and in addition soak up the bubbles in style in the deck jacuzzi.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you such as the underwater lights, adding spectacle and style after dark. Whether you want to work, use social media or stream movies on board this yacht, you can with Wi-Fi connectivity or guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Loon is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 193,200 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Onboard Loon has a large selection of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Another excellent feature are two waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Also there are two SEABOBs providing agile cruising and diving. If that isn't enough Loon also features wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment, scuba diving equipment, beach games and much more. One yacht, six decks, 6,000 miles of range and more than 10,000 square feet of indoor space that accommodates 19 guests in seven staterooms. Enough said. Well, it’s too impressive a boat to leave it at that, actually. Best known for its refit and conversion projects, Icon Yachts ’s latest design—the Icon 280 —sees the innovative Dutch yard move into two new segments of the superyacht industry: both a new-construction project and a yacht built on spec. The Icon 280 is a show of strength for the relatively young company. At 276 feet, it is also Icon’s largest project to date.

Sporting an exterior envisioned by rockstar designer Tim Heywood and selling through Burgess for more than $100 million, the Icon 280 offers a customizable interior that has the largest internal space of any 276-foot yacht. The trick is the addition of a full-length engine-room deck, which sits below the waterline and houses, well, the engine room, along with vast storage areas and a crew gym, an unusual but considerate feature. Generous crew quarters are located on the lower deck, adjacent to five spacious guest cabins. A central corridor directly connects the latter to an aft beach club—handy for an early morning dip or a swim before supper—which features a layout that also allows for a spa and theater.

In addition to two 33-foot tenders, the main deck houses a range of water toys as well as an infinity pool. The more than 1,350-square-foot master suite overlooks the helipad on the upper deck and provides the option for multiple sea terraces. Five flights up, the bridge deck presents more outside sunbathing space—in addition to inside wine storage—and is topped by an expansive sundeck with a hot tub—the ideal spot to catch sunrises or sunsets.

“The Icon 280 has a 6,000-nautical-mile range, it’s highly fuel efficient, it’s clean in design, seaworthy and high up on the water,” says Jen Wartena, CEO of Icon. “In short, it’s capable of cruising the oceans of the world in style.” That’s to be expected. What’s surprising, however, is the yacht’s rapid delivery time, available in as little as 26 months from the point of signing.

ICON Yacht – The Incredible $75M Superyacht

The ICON yacht is a 67-metre (221 ft) luxury yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts (Studio Linse) in 2009 as their first project.

She can welcome up to twelve guests in seven cabins and was last refitted in 2014, during which the vessel was extended by 5 metres.

She is currently available for charter for $500,000 per week.

Twelve guests find space in seven cabins inside ICON. Her interior was designed by Studio Linse at the shipyard where she was built.

Her master suite is split across two levels and is unusually spacious for a yacht her size.

A Hammam, sauna, pool, and spa facilities are available on board for the comfort of the guests. Seventeen crew members find space in below-deck accommodation.

The yacht also carries a wide variety of water toys, including two regular and one stand-up jet ski, scuba diving equipment, an inflatable platform, sea bobs, water skis, wakeboards, kayaks, and paddleboards.

The ICON yacht also has three tenders that can take guests to the mainland or on excursions if required.

The interior of ICON is classy and timeless, with minimalist elements and high-quality furnishings.

Natural tones and creme upholstery throughout the vessel make the yacht appear upscale and luxurious.

Specifications

ICON is 67 meters (221 ft) long with an 11.40 meter (37.4 ft) beam and a 3.80 (12.5 ft) meter draft.

She weighs 1295 tons and comfortably cruises at 13 knots which allows her to have a total range of 4,000 nautical miles.

Her maximum speed lies at 15 knots, and she is powered by MTU engines . 

RWD Design Studio worked on the exterior of ICON. They specialize in elegant and comprehensive yacht designs of mid-sized to large yachts.

She has a beautiful black and white exterior with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure.

She features a beach club that opens up onto the swimming platform and a beautiful infinity pool on the aft deck. Her top deck has a jacuzzi and cozy seating areas for guests.

Despite not being one the largest yachts in the world, ICON actually has fantastic deck space with generous areas reserved for sunbathing and relaxing.

Her previous owner paid a reported price of US $50 million for ICON in 2009 and is rumored to have listed the yacht for sale for US $55 million in 2016.

The yacht is available for charter at a weekly rate of US $500,000.

Project Master: 70m conversion project in full swing at Icon Yachts

Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts reports "steady progress" is being made on the conversion of Kleven -built offshore rescue and support ship Ocean Ness . Now going by the name Project Master, the vessel is set to be transformed into one of "the world's most capable explorer yachts" by 2024. 

First announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2021, the red-hulled vessel arrived at Icon Yacht's drydock facility in Harlingen in 2022. Since then, various parts of the vessel have been demolished and the old interiors have been ripped out to be replaced, leaving a blank canvas for the team to work with. 

The conversion is the first of its kind to be undertaken by Icon since the delivery of 68.2-metre Ragnar in 2020.

Yacht management firm JMS Yachting is working with Icon on Project Master, and said it was a "great decision" to remove the vessel's existing interior as they "found that the insulation was wet and the structure behind was affected. Whilst removing the wall panels, we discovered the extent of the corrosion".

The team has also removed all the equipment from the wheelhouse to be recycled or reused and will give Project Master all-new technology that will ensure she is "ready for the next 20 years and significantly more comfortable".

The project has been designed in collaboration with Espen Øino and will see Ocean Ness undergo a four-metre extension, bringing her total length to 70 metres, but will retain 95 per cent of the ship's original platform and superstructure.

The owners brief called for a "family-orientated" vessel capable of tackling extended voyages while remaining suitable for charter.

Project Master's explorer credentials will include a large toy store, a 42-square-metre expedition area and two 11.5-metre cranes that can be altered to launch and recover submarines and other guest tenders. On the top deck lies a fully certified helicopter deck that can double as a space for entertaining, providing more than 200 square metres of additional outdoor space.

The owner also requested a Jacuzzi, spa, sauna and gym to be incorporated into the design.

Accommodation is for 12 guests across six en suite cabins including a 140-square-metre owner's suite. On the upper deck, guests will find the main saloon with floor-to-ceiling windows, with the remaining guest accommodation positioned on the main deck, comprising two VIP cabins and three twin cabins. Once complete, Project Master will sleep an additional 19 crew. 

The project was sold to an experienced superyacht owner looking to travel further afield. "The owner was initially playing with the idea of a new build but after talking to us and seeing the benefits of a conversion project he was convinced," said Stephan Vitus, head of project development at Icon Yachts. "We spent a long time with the family trying to identify a vessel for the conversion and this is exactly what they were looking for in terms of the facilities and the platform."

Project Master will feature hybrid thrusters to allow for near-silent cruising at ten knots. The configuration of the propulsion will also allow for installation of a full diesel-electric system at a later stage, offering her owner future-proof possibilities. Once complete, Project Master will have a top speed of 14 knots and a range of more than 6,000 nautical miles.

An ultra-luxury cruise line wants to attract wealthy Americans with its all-inclusive 'yachts' — see what the new 128-guest ship will be like

• Ultra-luxury cruise line  Emerald Cruises says its third ocean ship will debut in 2026.
• The all-inclusive vessel, which Emerald calls a "yacht," would accommodate up to 128 people.
• Emerald, known for river cruises, has been investing more in its ocean-based business.

Over the last few years, the mass-market cruise industry's larger-than-life mega-ships — outfitted with loud waterparks and more dining options than you could eat in a week — have dominated the spotlight.

But in the ultra-luxury cruise market, it's been the opposite. The smaller and more exclusive the vessel, the better. So much so that Emerald Cruises' next ocean-based ship, launching in 2026, plans to accommodate no more than 128 travelers.

It's a far cry from Royal Caribbean's new 7,600-guest cruise liner . And the price difference is just as steep: almost $250 per night on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas versus more than $720 per night on the upcoming ultra-luxury Emerald Kaia.

"When people think of cruising now, they automatically think of these large ships ," Robert Castro, the vice president of marketing for Scenic Group, Emerald's parent company, told Business Insider. "There's a market for that, but we're in a unique position."

If you’re familiar with river cruises, Emerald might ring a bell.

The cruise line, owned by Scenic Group, only offered river cruises for its first nine years.

But lately, its biggest growth and investments have been in oceans, not rivers.

In 2022 and 2023, the Switzerland-based company launched its first two ocean cruise ships, which it calls "yachts." Each accommodates a maximum of 100 guests . And so far, they've been hits, with the cruise line experiencing record-high bookings in 2023.

Yes, the ships look like yachts. And yes, they're marketed as such.

But because Emerald's vessels operate group itineraries, they still technically count as cruise ships, albeit really nice ones.

So instead of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars a week to charter a yacht, as is traditional with these high-end vessels , travelers can spend less than $800 a day for a traditional cruise on said yacht-like ship.

While it's not nearly as exclusive, it sure is a hell of a lot cheaper, "bringing the charter yacht experience to reach for people who would never even imagine," Castro said.

Emerald’s upcoming 393-foot-long, 128-guest Kaia would be perfect for fans of small, high-end ships.

The 64-cabin Emerald Kaia would have a larger guest capacity than its two predecessors but would still be tiny compared to most cruise ships, including some of the most luxurious ones.

Regent Seven Seas' new Grandeur can accommodate 746 guests, while Ritz-Carlton says its next ship will sail up to 448 travelers.

Even Four Season's upcoming vessel — with fares up to $350,000 a week — would have a larger guest capacity of up to 222 people. However, it would be almost 290 feet longer than Emerald Kaia.

Like traditional cruise ships, Kaia would have amenities like a spa, two lounges, and three dining options.

The top deck would also have a cabana and bar-lined pool, one of three swimming holes on the ship.

But unlike its mass-market competitors, Kaia would have an open-air marina that would give travelers direct access to the water.

Water platforms are typically only common on yacht-marketed ships, such as Emerald's, Ritz-Carlton's, and, someday, Four Seasons'.

This means guests on the upcoming Kaia could dip in the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Aegean seas — as is included in its 2026 and 2027 itineraries — without disembarking the ship.

According to the cruise line, Emerald Kaia's future itineraries include an 11-day sailing from Cyprus to Greece and a 20-day one from Seychelles to Kenya.

Its cheapest itinerary is currently an eight-day roundtrip Seychelles vacation in 2027, starting at $5,055 per person.

As an all-inclusive cruise line, amenities like alcohol, WiFi, and excursions would be included in the base fare. However, unlike all-inclusive competitor Regent Seven Seas , guests must pay for their flights to and from the ship.

To compare, itineraries of the same length on Regent's Seven Seas Grandeur and Ritz-Carlton's Ilma would be $36 cheaper and $120 more expensive, respectively, per day.

But the fares aren't stopping travelers from gravitating toward Emerald. Before it unveiled Kaia, its parent company announced a record number of bookings in January — up 67% compared to its previous record in January 2020.

Castro said about 20% to 35% of its guests are American, typically well-acquainted with luxury travel.

The company's goal has been to increase its number of American customers. So far, it's working and is now "on track to be Emerald's No. 1 market," Castro told BI.

The new vessel is being built at a great time for the cruise line.

Strong demand, compounded by a small fleet of small ships, has led to fewer available cabins for its upcoming summer Mediterranean cruises.

Several of these sailings are now fully reserved. The cheapest remaining fares start at $4,570 per person for an eight-day November sailing from Athens, Greece, to Dubrovnik, Croatia.

It's great news for Emerald as it considers a future with more ocean "yachts." "The sooner we fill the ships, the sooner we start building new ones," Castro said.

How does the yacht client differ in terms of wants and needs from region to region?

The customization of a Benetti yacht is based on the lifestyle of each individual owner. It reflects the owner’s personality, dreams, and needs, even though there are cultural requests that vary from region to region. For instance, for US owners, a frequent request is a large bar paired with barbecue on the upper deck. Some clients might request extensive wine cellars, while others need a full-on office space to get work done while onboard. A spa, a larger space to store water toys, a gym area, and so on…

Who is the Benetti client? What do they expect from a yacht?

A Benetti client is elegant and sophisticated, most typically a man typically in his fifties. Owners are now trending typically 10 years younger than before. Of course, we are still talking about very wealthy and successful people, but unlike the past, where yacht ownership may have primarily symbolized opulence, today's owner seeks something deeper - a private space for special moments to share with family and friends. How do you anticipate the rapid advancements in technology given that it takes years to complete a yacht?

By investing. We started investing in technology more than 20 years ago when my father created an internal R&D department aiming to reduce fuel consumption. Since then, the guiding principles of the Group's product philosophy have been innovative exterior and interior design for the creation of a new onboard lifestyle, while reducing CO2 emissions and energy consumption, both of which are consistently reflected in our yachts.

An example of technology applied to design is our innovative OASIS DECK®: two highly engineered lateral wings that can open while at anchor to enlarge the outside area in the stern, creating a "beach area" on the water. This revolutionary system was designed in collaboration with the UK-based RWD studios before COVID, and anticipated the need that arose during the pandemic to connect with nature. The enlarged stern also features an infinity pool seamlessly integrated into the flush deck. We have created a new, informal lifestyle onboard with this transformative design – and the OASIS DECK® has been a big success in terms of sales.

Where do you see the yachting industry heading?

There is a noticeable trend in our industry: a younger clientele compared to just five years ago, with a more conscious approach. Sustainability should no longer be merely a marketing pitch within the industry, and we, as leaders, feel the need to drive this change. Yacht owners are increasingly embracing the concept of mega yachts constructed using durable, sustainable materials, and energy-efficient technologies, resulting in reduced carbon emissions.

The next objective is to further optimize consumption and emissions generated by onboard systems. This subject is especially relevant to larger boats, which spend around 90% of their time at anchor. Benetti has begun to address this by developing the “Zero Emission Hotel Mode” powered by fuel cells and advanced power management systems, including solutions to reduce air conditioning energy consumption by up to 50%.

Additionally, for our use in tests, sea trials, etc, we have turned to HVOlution (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil), produced by ENI, a biofuel made entirely from renewable raw materials. Our recent tests recorded a reduction in well-to-wake CO2 emissions from 60 to 80%, compared to a yacht of comparable size powered by fossil fuel.

What have been the most out-of-this-world request you’ve ever had for the outfitting of a boat?

We have added things like a wood-burning pizza oven and a flower refrigerator. We’ve done a copy of the Sistine Chapel fresco over the dining table on a Benetti yacht.

How do you marry the tradition and history of Benetti with the increasingly modern world of today?

Life and works

Though very few details of his life are known, tradition does give a basic outline. Andrei (commonly Andrew in English) went to a monastery, called Holy Trinity Monastery, at a young age and grew up there. He was greatly influenced by St Sergius of Radonezh , the igumen of the monastery.

Eventually Andrei decided to become a monk , and with the blessing of the new igumen of his monastery traveled to another, the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery , founded by St Andronik ( June 13 ). There he was tonsured a monk and began to study iconography under Theophanes the Greek and a monk named Daniel.

The first known reference to his work appeared in 1405, when he is said to have written icons and frescoes in the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Moscow with Theophanes and another iconographer named Prochorus. In 1408 he and Daniel, his fellow monastic, painted frescoes in the Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir. Finally, he and Daniel were asked to paint the new church of Holy Trinity Monastery , where Andrei had grown up, after the monastery was destroyed by Tatars in 1408. This was about the time that he painted the only surviving icon credited as entirely his work - the Trinity , or Hospitality of Abraham .

Andrei Rublev reposed at Andronikov Monastery on January 29, 1430. He was one of nine saints glorified by the Church of Russia at its council held June 6 - 9 , 1988.

Lil Yachty was 12 when Jay Z released his late-career blunder “Young Forever,” which was less a soundtrack for abandon than it was trite muzak for yachts and wine spritzers. Since then, hip-hop’s curmudgeonly old guard has framed Yachty as an iconoclast for his apparent disregard of guys like Jay Z, an emcee Yachty has actually publicly revered in interviews , but whose musical relevance exists largely in another lifetime than his own. Jay, after all, wasn’t speaking to high-school crowds in 2009—but in 2017, Yachty is.

Yachty’s “Forever Young,” the Diplo -produced track culled from his messy debut , calcifies what one crowd has latched onto and another has rejected in his music: that he sounds like a happy kid. On its face, “Forever Young” might have spelled disaster, a collaboration that forces Yachty’s innocence through industry machinations to produce a summer hit. Instead of calculated, thought, it sounds smooth around the edges, and the track is one of Yachty’s most streamlined performances to date, the most obvious hit in his catalog.

Diplo’s production is an aggregate of his well-branded summeriness. The synths are pristine and upstroked; the drums tick, thump, and roll predictably; tasteful EDM effects echo and surge. Yachty slips into his own familiar, fizzy pop stance, skipping to the beat in sing-song verses and belting out a soaring earworm hook in a slight Auto-Tune. He never says much, but there’s a grinning, self-confident mushiness that he deploys to win you over while being silly. “If I break your heart/Then I’m a dumb dude,” he raps to a love interest who has a bunch of protective brothers. And when he stammers out, “Together, we forever young” on the hook, it sounds like an upbeat pinky promise.

Lil Yachty Is "Forever Young" in New Video for Diplo Collab

The video is directed by Alex Lill, who previously brought us videos from Nav and Joey Badass.

Lil Yachty dropped the new video for "Forever Young" Friday, and it’s full of exactly the sort of visuals the song demands.

The video for the Diplo-featuring Teenage Emotions single is directed by Alex Lill, whose previous work includes videos for Nav and Joey Badass. Yachty is credited as the video's creative director.

There's nothing worse than someone writing an entire paragraph detailing what happens in a music video that would only take the reader mere minutes to watch themselves, so I'm not going to do that. Just watch the video.

"Forever Young" marks the second Yachty video this week. On Wednesday, Macklemore shared his video for the Yachty-featuring "Marmalade." The video sees kid versions of Macklemore and Yachty driving around and generally just enjoying life. Goddammit. I just wrote a sentence about what happens in a music video. At any rate, here's the video:

Lil Yachty Drops "Forever Young" Music Video Filmed Entirely on Carnival Rides

He didn’t even look dizzy after..

After dropping the animated version earlier this month, Lil Yachty returns with yet another visual interpretation for his Diplo-produced, Teenage Emotions standout cut, “Forever Young.” In the video, you’ll find the nautical one with his Mrs. at the carnival living up to the song title as they venture off to the ferris wheel, bumper cars, the super slide and many more. The video was shot entirely on carnival rides, check it out above.
