To make sure you catch your tour without a hitch, we suggest arriving 45 minutes ahead of your scheduled time. Being prompt helps us kick things off on time for everyone’s enjoyment. Unfortunately, if you’re late and miss the boat, we won’t be able to offer refunds.  Your understanding is greatly appreciated!

Where is the pickup location?

Our boat launch spot is right at 1 Holomoana Street. If you know the Prince Waikiki Hotel, you’re close! Our slip is just to the West (Ewa) of their valet area. Keep an eye out for our big Pink Sails banner waving in the breeze—it’ll guide you straight to us. And for a detailed map and directions, hop over to our website!

Where do I park?

We’ve got some convenient parking options for you at the harbor! Right next to our boat slips, there are paid parking stalls charging just $1 per hour. If those are full, the Waikiki Prince Hotel has valet parking nearby. Plus, you can park at Chart House or Red Lobster, both a quick 3-minute walk from the dock.

But heads up, during busy times like weekends or holidays, snagging a spot can be a challenge. It’s smart to plan ahead or consider hopping in a taxi or using a rideshare service. Oh, and a friendly reminder: please avoid parking in the yellow spaces to steer clear of any towing troubles. We want your visit to be smooth sailing!

What should we bring?

Don’t forget your sunblock and hat if the sun’s not your best friend. For our snorkeling or swimming tours, a towel will come in handy. Oh, and grab your camera and a card for drinks, souvenirs, and tips – it’s gonna be a blast!

I would highly recommend doing this private charter during your stay in Honolulu! Sam and Nick were an awesome team and made this experience one we will remember! Not only did we see sea turtles but we saw several pods of dolphins right under our feet. This is much more relaxing than the lager group tour and they were able to accommodate for pregnant women and guest prone to sea sickness! If you are on the fence, just book it! Hands down the best catamaran experience my family and I have ever had! Captain Sam and Deckhand Nick were amazing!! The cost is a steal! Having an entire vessel to ourselves with great laughs between us and the captain and deckhand were great memories not to mention the unforgettable sunset and beautiful sea life we got to see. We will 1000% do this again and next time book a longer ride!

This was in fact amazing. My family of 5 had a private catamaran with 2 of the nicest guys. Captain was super friendly and then our snorkeling guide was awesome. Took us to see spinner dolphins, turtles, fish and even some eels. They really went above and beyond and made us feel so welcome. All gear was provided, the goggles and fins. It is bring your own food or drinks (they do have soda and water). After snorkeling they took us over by Diamond Head. One of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this.

Our multi generation family of 5 ranging in ages from 12 years to 74 years had a wonderful, life memorable experience. The crew were exceptional, very caring to all. Taking the time to know our needs and wishes for the cruise. They supported us in the water to come up close with the sea turtles and let the kids play their music as we sailed around. The whole time was centred on what our family wanted to see and do and nothing was too much trouble. I can not recommend this experience highly enough. Excerpt from The New York Times article Hawaii Is a Paradise, but Whose?

“I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect that people just won’t work in the main industry there is and I don’t think Hawaiians want to stop tourism altogether, but we are all working to find ways of doing it responsibly and thoughtfully,” said Shane Hiroshi Gibler, who co-owns Royal Hawaiian Catamaran , which is based in Honolulu and offers snorkel tours, sunset cruises and private charters.

On Mr. Gibler’s boat, guests are asked not to bring any plastic and recycling is available aboard. Mr. Gibler educates guests about fishing, food and the importance of the ocean and the land to Hawaiians. The Royal Hawaiian Catamaran team regularly gathers people to clean up the shoreline and has been working with the Surfrider Foundation to remove ghost nets — fishing nets that have been lost or left behind by fishing boats — from reefs or the ocean. This was such a fun experience, the views and the vibe were amazing! The staff were so nice and provided nice drinks to us. Honolulu is so beautiful and this activity really allowed us to see the beauty of the island. They played nice vibe music and everyone on the boat even those who didn't know each other were so friendly and happy. We were all in such a good mood. Three alcoholic beverages were included in the tour. Another thing I found really good is the customer service. A few of the guests had difficulty finding the boat and when calling into the company for assistance they were able to help, notify the team on the boat so we could wait a few minutes for them. I love Hawaii so much and this team made the experience awesome!

Booked the sunset cruise for Christmas day and didn't regret it. Captain JJ and crew were awesome, friendly and attentive. Check in was easy on the sand near the catamaran. The crew was nice and waited 10 minutes past departure time for these late people (read your emails and be respectful of others by being on time!!). Then it was smooth sailing for 1.5 hours as the sun set. There's a bathroom on board for #1 only, and they had the drinks flowing. The playlist was perfect and great for a chill night into the sunset. Except for this one drunk chick hanging on the railing and hitting me once as she stumbled and then later spilling her drink all over the seat behind me (crew was there in a second with a towel!), the ride was perfect. Highly recommend.

We had SUCH an amazing time on the sunset tour! Athena, Noah, and Captain Jr were the most amazing crew. Our sunset tour was beautiful! The person weather and a gorgeous sunset. We were so satisfied with the cruise, and we can't forget about the free drinks included with the booking! Super happy with our experience.

My niece and I had reserved to go out with them back about a month ago during the time we were having some strong winds. The morning of our reservation we were contacted to say the excursion was cancelled due to strong seas. They offered us a refund or to book at another time. We booked for the next day, hoping the conditions were better. We got down to the beach fronting Duke's at the Outrigger and saw the catamaran for the earlier trip getting ready to go out. We were hopeful. Unfortunately, they had to cancel our trip because the cat that had left previously had to turn around and come back because it was still too rough. We were provided with refunds. Because of their great customer service alone, I'll try these folks again and pray for calmer seas.

We loved our sail! We stayed in Waikiki at the Moana Surfrider and the boat was already docked right on the beach in front of our hotel which made it super convenient.... I am only giving it 3 stars because it didn't sail for very long, it only took us out past the surf and once we got to the turtle canyon, which you could see from the beach, it was super murky (even tho I believe that was due to the windy conditions) but we couldn't see any sea life which was a bummer. Once we got on the boat we only had time for one of the 3 drinks we were promised. Overall the crew was super sweet and accommodating, the boat was awesome, we just would've liked a longer sail, to see turtles and to have had time to enjoy drinks.

The one Mai Tai I was given

It was tough trying to find a snorkeling adventure... my friend and I kind of just picked a convenient one and relatively decent price. This one literally picked us up right outside our hotel which was a plus. I'm giving the experience 5 stars because the crew was cool & for a quick snorkel trip, we had our moneys worth. And it was really surreal to be that close to turtles. We saw at least 7! And while there were a multitude of fish, I definitely saw 5 different types. The less than 5 stars parts: it goes to the same little place close by to Waikiki beach and where many other snorkeling and diving boats go as well. The reef is pretty dreary... which sadly I wasn't expecting it to be anything better because I know reefs are dying all over. There really wasn't much time to enjoy the complimentary drinks because you were basically in the water for most of the time to snorkel. And they ran out of fins so my friend didn't get to have the same mobility and experience as I did. But again, for what it's worth, I enjoyed the little adventure!

Our captain Noah and crew members were amazing! Handsome young men and funny guys all the way around they kept us safe at sea with all the rules and everyone followed them, and we saw the most beautiful sunset ever! Everyone was lovely and the drinks were lovely!

We had a great time and the crew made sure we were safe and have a good time and we saw lots of turtles.

If you want to snorkel in Waikiki this is your place! I can't say enough good things about my experience. We got a text the morning of our snorkel saying they had boat problems that morning but they were really communicative and quickly got us on a tour just 2 hours later than our original booking. The crew was fantastic! Captain JJ and the other guys were super chill, very knowledgeable and always helpful. This was a definite highlight of the trip. Seeing the turtles was incredible and although I could have stayed in the water for hours more, it was fun to go back to the boat and have a couple drinks. They had a cooler filled with mai tais (which were delicious) as well as some Coronas. Overall great experience and great vibes all around!! Highly, highly recommend!

What a brilliant experience for the whole family. We have enjoyed this snorkel cruise twice now when visiting Waikiki. The crew are really friendly. Genuinely wanting you to have a great time. They look after everyone at all levels of swimming ability and do their best to help view turtles and fish at a respectful distance on a reef off Waikiki. It's fun! You aren't rushed, and afterwards they treat you to a mini harbour cruise on the Catamaran with a couple of drinks. Great value for money and highly recommended. We booked online and just arrived on the beach to check in. Shout out to the crew Jeff, Justin, Leoni and especially Malea who was so great helping everyone navigate the reef and get the best experience they could.

Location, direction and description

• Meet Ke Kai Catamaran (Yellow & Purple Boat) on Waikiki Beach, right in front of Duke's Restaurant beachside of the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Tours begin boarding 30 minutes before the timed departure. Please show up at least 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Parking information

• Waikiki Parking Recommendation: Paid parking is available at Outrigger Waikiki/Duke's Valet, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre Parkade, or the International Market Place. Parking validation is NOT available.
• Waikiki has many events and we strongly recommend that guests check for road closures, parades, and events and plan ahead to prevent missed reservations.

Restrictions.

• This activity is not wheelchair accessible.
• If less than 6 participants are booked, the activity may not operate.
• Children of all ages can participate in this activity.
• All participants must know how to swim to participate on the snorkel cruise. Refunds will not be given to participants who cannot swim during this activity.
• Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. If you fail to meet the requirement, there will be no refunds.
• For safety reasons, guests are not allowed to wear full- faced snorkeling masks.

• All participants are required to wear the provided life vest when in the water.

Required items to bring & attire

• Wear swimsuit under clothing
• All guests must be at least 21 years old with a valid government issued photo ID to consume any alcoholic beverages. Guests with questionable forms of identification may be required to show a secondary photo I.D. with a birth date.
• Guests who are prone to seasickness should take a motion sickness preventative one hour prior to departure.

• The activity provider does not assume any responsibility for your valuables and/or personal belongings.
• The tour guide has full discretion to refuse service to customers based on attire, behavior, physical fitness and condition.

• If you are driving on your own, you will be required to pay a parking fee.
• As this cruise departs directly from the beach, you may get wet or have to wade through water to get on or off the vessel.
• The catamaran departs throughout the day and may not have returned at the time of your check-in. Please wait at the Ke Kai sign on the beach, and the boat will arrive shortly.
• Infant life jackets are not provided, and only available for guests 2 years old and above. Guests with infants are welcome to bring their own infant-sized life jacket.

Overall rating

The crew was super friendly, accommodating, efficient and fun to be around. The snorkelling was as expected - lots of people, and commercial but we got to check off swimming with sea turtles off our bucket list on our ... final day on the island Gear was clean and in great condition. The boat was immaculate and the drinks were flowing and the adult ones were strong!!

Went for spring break and had an amazing time. SHOUT OUT TO CALEB NICOLE AND NOAH they were an awesome and attentive crew! Definitely would recommend, we saw at least 2 different turtles and a whole bunch of different sc ... hools of fish. The boat was super nice and we got nice pictures. we had perfect snorkeling weather too!

Fun and definitely worth ot

The water was a little cold so we got out of the water sooner than we would have wanted, and so we didn’t see as much as we had hoped to. But we had fun and would do it again. Hopefully next time we will see more.

No, first-time snorkelers are welcome on this cruise! You will be given all snorkeling gear as well as fins and flotation devices. Manu Kai always sails with a lifeguard-certified crew member on board to ensure everyone's safety!

Turtle Canyon Adventure Sail

Explore waikiki’s coral reefs.

This morning sail takes you to Turtle Canyon, where you’ll get to swim around Waikiki’s most pristine coral reefs and get up close to turtles, tropical fish and other stunning marine life. Our crew of friendly PADI-certified divers will make sure you don’t miss anything. Turtle Canyon is famous for its many large turtles, but it’s also brimming with hidden creatures like tako or heʻe (octopus) and wana (sea urchin, pronounced “vana”). This tour is two and a half hours long.

What better way to start your day than to slip into the refreshing waters of Turtle Canyon and swim with amazing green sea turtles, beautiful tropical fish, and other incredible marine life? Our snorkel guides help you feel confident, safe, and at ease as you dive in and explore the beauty just below the surface. Our guides specialize in showing you not only the honu (turtles), but also hidden creatures such as a tako (octopus), vana (sea urchin), and so much more! We provide snorkels, masks, fins, and snorkel vests to get you out there exploring all the remarkable sea life below!

After we’ve finished snorkeling, we’ll hoist the sails and set out around Diamond Head on the search for Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, and in the winter months, we’ll be on the lookout for Humpback Whales making their yearly migration. Stretch out on the nets, relax, and enjoy complimentary snacks and soft drinks as we cruise along some of the most beautiful scenery on the island!

The Holokai departs from the beach for all of our sails, so be sure to bring footwear that you can easily slip on and off! The specific beach for arrival and departure changes depending on the tides to ensure a safe boarding, so keep in mind that the departure spot may change and might not always be right outside the hotel. The walk down to the beach may take from 5 to 10 minutes, a maximum of 0.3 miles down to the boat.

Any guests with mobility issues or are a slower walker will have to let us know after or before you book, so we can make the appropriate accommodations.

All guests boarding the Holokai Catamaran must complete an online waiver form prior to check-in. Guests will not be permitted to board without a signed waiver. All guests 17 years of age and younger must have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Guests 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 on all tours.

The Manu Kai crew invites you to join us on our nightly fun Waikiki Sunset Sail. Experience sailing, sightseeing, complimentary cocktails, the beautiful Hawaiian sunset, and, if you’re lucky, the rare green flash! It can get pretty wild out there, you just might get wet!

Our Sunset Sail boards strictly at 5 p.m. and departs Waikiki Beach at 5:30 p.m. Groups who do not check-in by 5:00 p.m. will lose their reservation to standby guests without any option to rebook or refund. Sunset sails are a flat rate price and all guests must purchase a ticket to attend including children/infants.
