Here at Fleetscale, we are experts in various scales and eras of model boats with over 25 years of experience in developing and manufacturing accurate model hulls of the highest quality. We provide detailed and accurate model boats in a variety of scales and designs with additional detailed fittings and motors to choose from. Our model boats are manufactured at the time of order and are all handmade by our small and dedicated team who are obsessed with quality and accuracy. We are constantly developing our range of model boats and adding to our collection. The scales for our model boats are 1/24th, 1/32th, 1/48th, 1/72nd, 1/96th and 1/128th with an exciting variety of boats and designs to choose from. Because we are dedicated to producing accurate handmade products, everything is made to order and you can expect an average lead time of 7-31 days. We accept all major credit/debit cards via Sagepay and phone as well as PayPal and cheque.

We supply a wide range of warships that are faithfully reproduced by photos, plans and testimonials of those that have worked on them. We have model warships from variety of time periods and countries, all developed with painstaking accuracy. Our quality glass fibre hulls for model shipwrights are expertly handcrafted with an experienced attitude to accuracy and quality. We are regularly featured in model boat magazines and our glass fibre hulls have been described as beautifully detailed and accurate as well as perfectly researched. We’ve received much praise for our ‘beautifully manufactured’ designs and hope you will be just as satisfied. Our hulls are fully detailed with plating, riveting and other surface markings moulded into the hull where appropriate. On some of our models we also provide superstructures, desks and fittings. Our kits contain no instructions and require the modeller to embark on lots of research to develop their skills over time to result in an impressive finished product rather than simply sticking together. Our model boats will provide an exciting and educational experience, leaving you with a full sense of pride and achievement with the finished product. Chain was a crucial element on ships, serving various purposes throughout the vessel. Primarily , chain was used to secure the ship when at anchor. Anchor chain consisted of a series of interlinked metal links, typically made of iron or later steel, forming a strong and durable connection between the ship and its anchor. Anchor chain provided several advantages over traditional rope or cable. Its strength and weight allowed it to resist the forces of wind, waves, and tides, ensuring the ship remained securely anchored. The use of chain also reduced the risk of abrasion or damage from rocks or coral on the seabed. Additionally, chain played a role in distributing the weight and tension evenly, preventing excessive strain on individual components of the anchoring system. It was an indispensable component of maritime safety and stability, enabling ships to anchor securely in various conditions and locations.
