Breaking News

Crn latona: the new 50-meter yacht is a throwback to liberty.

She previewed at Monaco Yacht Show: the new megayacht CRN Latona is due to the cooperation between CRN Shipyard and Zuccon International Project. A 100% custom unit built for an owner fond of details.

Turquoise is not a common color on a boat, let alone on a 50-meter superyacht. The risk of sort of a “giant candy” effect is around the corner. But that’s how her owner wanted Latona to be, and the reason is understandable: we live in a dark and aggressive world, we are burdened with commitments, so at least when we are on board our yacht we try to relax in a light, cool and welcoming environment.

CRN Latona is 5 0 meters long but the GT is under 500 . She features four decks and is built in steel for the hull and aluminum for the superstructure.

Launched in February, delivered in May and introduced to the public at the Monaco Yacht Show , she was created by CRN in collaboration with Zuccon International Project . The technical aspects of the project and the streamlined look of the hull are work of the CRN Technical Office, while the exterior lines were designed by the Zuccon studio, who together with the Interiors & Design Office of the yard has curated interiors and exteriors. On board there’s five cabins for guests plus a crew area for nine people .

Outside: Mediterranean style

Latona’s exterior look is timeless. Classic lines that never disappoint, designed with great attention to proportions, heights, and ratio between full and empty volumes.

Look at the sundeck and check how large it is: it features a Jacuzzi in the bow, a covered lounge in the middle and a sundeck to aft (there’s is also a box for storing toys, including a giant inflatable slide and a climbing wall to be hung on the side).

Inside: a triumph of Liberty

What we know of CRN Latona is that her owner loves Liberty style and that he/she likes details. Why we say that? Because the interiors of this yacht are a journey through Liberty , where everything is customized and personally approved by the owner. The yacht won’t be available for charter, but just for the owner and his friends: for this reason there’s no lounge on the main deck but a large diningroom. The only lounge is on the upper deck, an informal area with a white piano (it can play by itself) and a lyre-shaped couch (the lyre was a typical Liberty icon).

On the main deck first you encounter the lobby with an elevator decorated like a Liberty portal of the French metro. Moving to bow there’s the owner’s apartment: a full-beam suite with smoking room and a private balcony which can be used during navigation. The four guest cabins and the crew quarters are on the lower deck. As for the finishing there’s not many different materials: wood, marble, crystal, and silver, all managed by craftsmen who have done an impressive work of chiselling to make CRN Latona truly unique.

As far as navigation is concerned, Latona is a displacing yacht powered by two Caterpillar C32 engines for a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14. Ithe range is reckoned to be 3800 miles at 11 knots.

Crn’s new super yacht ‘latona’: 50 meters of bespoke details.

10 February 2018

crn latona yacht

The shipyard based in Ancona has launched its new super yacht ‘Latona’ today, turning its Owner’s dream into reality. 10 February 2018 – With a private ceremony, CRN launched Latona 50 meters. Inspired by the historic Superconero of the Sixties, Latona 50 meters marks the success of a new collaboration between CRN’s Engineering and Interiors & Design departments with Zuccon International Project. The result is a displacement yacht in steel and aluminium with a classic style and refined details, each chosen individually by its Owner. The balance between the interior volumes and the desire to make the vessel as lean as possible have led to the creation of a yacht with sleek lines and a slender bow. With its 50m length, 8.60m beam and five wide decks, Latona is characterized by the large interior spaces and extensive windows that offer the owner and his guests constant contact with the sea. The design solutions implemented by CRN make it possible to fully experience the navigation experience, thanks to the balcony used for cruising and the terrace overlooking the sea, the area is open and enjoyable when the yacht is moored. The garage is floodable, allowing the tender to enter the water without using a davit, and transforming a purely technical environment into an open-air living area perfectly integrated into the beach club. “Every launch is a reason for great pride for the shipyard”, stated CRN’s and Ferretti Group’s CEO Alberto Galassi. “This complex, magnificent, 50 meters construction, realizes the desire of a selective and resolute Owner, who has turned to the expertise and the ability of CRN to build his personal project, turning his vision into a magnificent vessel.” The latest addition to the Atelier CRN, Latona 50 meters, will be presented as a world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018.

Latona Is an Italian Icon Incarnate

Crn’s 164-foot latona carries a family resemblance to the italian yard’s superconero launches of the 1960s and ’70s., michael verdon, michael verdon's most recent stories.

Italian CRN 50m SuperConero superyacht Latona

Latona , built by CRN under the code name Project Superconero , is being delivered to its owner in the Mediterranean following several months of testing. The 164-footer was launched at the CRN yard in February, and it will make its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Zuccon International Project and CRN’s engineers worked closely with the owner’s team in creating a project that carries glimmers of CRN’s past, adopting the name of CRN’s vaunted 75-foot SuperConero series of the 1960s and ’70s. That yacht, fairly small now, was an important project at the time because it was built in steel. The SuperConero design also had an iconic shape featuring an unusually long transom deck and sharp forefoot.

Latona is a contemporary design, but has retained SuperConero cues like a sharp entry and extended transom deck, though modern features include a large social area on the foredeck, a terrace that folds out from the saloon, and large beach club that joins the tender garage. The Ferretti Group pioneered the engineering around this flooding tender garage, which allows the tender to float away instead of having to be hoisted into the water, with the garage and beach club creating a large waterside lounge. The cockpit, located on the deck above, also has a separate swimming pool and large area for socializing.

CRN is not releasing too many details about Latona , including number of staterooms and guest capacity, but earlier images of the yacht’s “Liberty” interior revealed soft lines on the walls as well as curved furniture and other custom decor. The designers also made full use of its 28-foot beam, both in the master suite and saloon.  Renderings of the saloon resemble a midcentury-modern rendition of Mad Men, with its stylized look, and full-height windows for exceptional views of the water. The yacht should be a big draw at September’s Monaco Yacht Show.

CRN LATONA: INSPIRED BY LIBERTY STYLE

crn latona yacht

CRN’s Latona is by far the most delectable 50-metre superyacht on the water.

crn latona yacht

Over the years, we have featured superyachts that could be described as either majestic, sporty, innovative, or classical, but with CRN’s 50-metre Latona, the only word that truly fits her style, ambience and character is, delectable. It’s no surprise though, as the Owner worked alongside CRN and Zuccon International Project to create a yacht inspired by Stile Liberty, the short-lived, but highly intricate international style of art, architecture and applied art that defined the turn of the century design. Most popular between 1890 and 1910, Stile Liberty, or Art Nouveau, as it was also known, was inspired by natural forms and structures, particularly the curved lines of plants and flowers. But what makes Stile Liberty such a strong base for a yacht design is that it’s a total art style; that is, it embraces a wide range of fine and decorative arts, including architecture, painting, graphic art, interior design, jewellery, furniture, textiles, ceramics, glass art, and metal work. This gave CRN and Zuccon International Project a full repertoire of inspiration to call upon while creating Latona’s delightful demeanour.

crn latona yacht

Super Conero Style

Although architecture was an integral part of Stile Liberty, its ‘whiplash’ style of sudden curves, asymmetrical shapes and dynamic lines would not have worked on any part of Latona’s exterior. Just imagine a yacht in the style of Antoni Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia basilica, or Otto Wagner’s Karlsplatz Stadtbahn station: it would simply be too much for the senses. Instead, CRN and Zuccon looked to something far more subtle for Latona’s exterior lines – CRN’s very own Superconero of the 1960s. Classical and timeless, Latona mixes a thoroughly modern silhouette with subtle superstructure detailing giving it the feel of la dolce vita. There are no sudden or aggressive lines on Latona; her design is honest and unpretentious, with the flamboyance saved for the interior. If most superyachts can be described as ‘black tie’ then Latona is very much ‘exclusive beachwear’ – inviting, warm, friendly and of course, topped off with that gorgeous turquoise hull which changes intensity depending on the water Latona sits in.

crn latona yacht

A Grand Entrance

The turquoise experience continues as you step on board Latona’s aft deck, with the pool (featuring a windowed floor that lets natural light illuminate the tender bay below) and cushions radiating the soft, blue hue. A C-shaped sofa with two tables is served by a forward bar and it’s here at Latona’s main salon entrance that we first see Art Nouveau’s swirls, segments and curves in the colourful, flanking seascape murals.

crn latona yacht

The Dining Room

It seems quite apt that a superyacht with her character based firmly in grandeur should forgo a classic main salon layout, with Latona encouraging her guests to lounge outside and dine inside. A circular walnut table with room for 12-guests dominates the salon, surrounded by floral pattern dining chairs and four deep loungers, for those unable to navigate very far after dessert (we all know that feeling). The mirrored ceiling features wooden carvings that accurately reproduce the Emperor Dark embroidery decorating the floor below – a musical note type motif that flows through many of Latona’s interior elements. As specifically requested by the Owner, the galley has been located behind the dining area, with a convenient hatch cut out of the wood panelling, making service efficient and discreet. Thanks to the opening, full-height glazing guests can also eat al fresco while enjoying the unobstructed sea views from the port and starboard fold-down terraces.

crn latona yacht

Owner’s Suite

Heading forward, we follow the Emperor Dark embroidery on the floor which leads us to Latona’s lobby. Here, Stile Liberty can not only be seen on the lobby wall panels, but also the doors themselves, which feature the asymmetrical lines that make the art form so intriguing. The swirls continue in the main staircase’s hand rails, whose dark wood shapes contrast with a central backlit column finished in wood with silver leaf. At the end of the lobby corridor is the Owner’s suite, an area so vast, it has been split into three distinct areas. At the entrance is the studio, with its curved sofa stretching away from the starboard door. A huge walk-in wardrobe can be found to port, with the bedroom accessed forward.

Stepping inside the master stateroom, your eye is immediately drawn to the hand-made headboard that flows out of the bed like a dark walnut and light blue velvet crown. The ceiling is also crafted by hand, with wooden flowers encasing the spotlights, while underneath, the familiar dark brown carpet embroidery leads you past the Owner’s private terrace to the his and hers bathroom. Constructed entirely in bright Carrara marble with Calacatta marble detailing, the bathroom features a large circular hydromassage tub, a walkthrough shower, elegant taps and doors in glass with haut-and bas-relief decorations.

CRN and Zuccon looked to something far more subtle for Latona’s exterior lines – CRN’s very own Superconero of the 1960s.

crn latona yacht

For the Guests

Heading back into the foyer, the guests can choose to take the stairs or elevator down to the lower deck. Here we find the lobby for the four cabins – two double VIP aft and two twins forward. Unlike many superyacht designs that like to mix things up with a radically different guest cabin design, Zuccon and CRN kept the Art Nouveau look that works so well on the upper decks. Decorated with fabric-lined panels, mirrors and deep carpets, the guests are treated to the same experience as the Owner – even the en suite bathrooms share the same style as the master stateroom up above, featuring fine marbles and the large showers with seat.

Last stop on the elevator is the upper deck, with the bridge and captain’s cabin forward and aft we find arguably one of Latona’s most delightful areas, the music room. Surrounded by the charming Liberty Style decorations is one of the most magical sofas we’ve come across, a deep couch shaped like a lyre – a musical instrument straight out of Art Nouveau’s heyday. A white-lacquered grand piano sits in the port-side corner, with precious curtains and Lalique lamps contributing to this unique lounge. Stepping through the sliding doors, Latona’s upper deck opens out into a huge entertaining area, complete with a 12-seat dining table with two large sun pads aft.

crn latona yacht

If the upper deck sunpads aren’t big enough for you, then it’s time to head up the starboard staircase to the sun deck. Much like the Owner’s suite, it too is made up of three different zones. Aft is for sun-lovers only, with four sunpads and a delightful, raised circular sunbed with convertible roof. The inflatable slide is also deployed from the aft area, which along with the upper deck’s inflatable climbing wall, adds to Latona’s lighthearted character. Central is what CRN call the ‘living area’ although, ‘eating area’ is probably more apt, as there’s yet another dining table for 12. Unlike the interior, the furniture here is made for being out in the elements, so there’s no lyre-shaped sofas, or motif flooring; up here on the sundeck, it’s all very much Saint Tropez beach club. Talking of which, forward is a huge sunpad area fitted with a Jacuzzi, which thanks to a low-profile splash screen, gives you a commanding view of the surroundings, while keeping your privacy fully intact.

crn latona yacht

Latona’s outside areas reflect her easy going attitude, with a generously sofa’d foredeck lounge perfect for Med-style mooring. Here, the seating can be covered by a bimini top, with only the forward sunpad open to the sun’s rays. Last, but by no means least is Latona’s beach club, which in many ways is her most impressive feature. The reason for this is not only her solarium, gym, hammam and integrated open air lounge, but her float-in garage.

First seen on Latona’s big sister, the 58-metre J’ade, the float-in tender bay is located at the forward part of the beach club and when flooded, can be used as a salt water pool. Not only is it a major aesthetic innovation, but it takes up less space than a normal garage as it’s not partitioned off. It’s so important in yacht design to have a theme and with Latona’s Stile Liberty, CRN had the ideal basis for creating a unique superyacht with a warm and endearing heart. Latona’s quality is a testament to the craftsmen who built her, and her finish, for a 50-metre yacht is truly world class. Art Nouveau lasted a mere 20 years before Art Deco replaced it, but with Latona, CRN has created a timeless classic.

CRN 50m Latona Review: Endless Beauty

crn latona yacht

Wide open-air spaces, timeless elegance, 50 metres of style and functionality – new superyacht CRN Latona offers an original interpretation of the art of bespoke shipbuilding

CRN’s mastery of shipbuilding reaches its utmost expression in the new 50-metre superyacht Latona, which has been presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 at the end of September. The Italian Atelier’s latest masterpiece has been custom-built to meet the wishes of a highly selective and determined Owner.

CRN Latona

CRN Latona exterior

Drawing inspiration from the ‘Superconero’ of the 1960s, the new yacht’s technical solutions and the slender lines of the hull have been developed by CRN’s Engineering Department, while the craft’s exterior lines were pencilled by design firm Zuccon International Project, who, together with the Shipyard’s Interiors & Design Department also took care of both interiors and exteriors. With her 50 metres in length, four decks and an underdeck, the CRN Latona stands out for her classical, timeliness profile that further enhances the style and elegance of outdoor areas.

The yacht’s interiors are pervaded by a refined Liberty-style mood, a stylish fil rouge that unravels through all guest areas. The streamlined bow and the spacious interior and exterior volumes, in turn, also include some breathtaking areas almost ‘hanging’ over the sea, let the Latona shine in all her endless beauty. Designed jointly with the Customer, this megayacht has been forged and built to meet her Owner’s request for the utmost customisation, in an effort to achieve pure uniqueness. Onboard the CRN Latona, guests will find numerous outdoor areas – from the wide Mediterranean-style sundeck to the lounge area at the bow, the outdoor living areas and the al fresco dining area located aft to the magnificent terraces overlooking the sea, all the way to the exclusive tender bay obtained on the lower deck.

CRN Latona

The latter forms a large open-air lounge integrated with the beach club, featuring a solarium, a fitness area, a hammam and a sea-water indoor pool perfect for children to have fun and also ideal to store the tender in the yacht’s ‘belly’ during navigation. And it is just in the interiors that the skilful, refined craftsmanship of the Shipyard and its suppliers has reached its peak, thanks to a painstaking study of the Central European style from the 1920s.

This mood now pervades all interiors, starting from the floors, which are enriched by unique decorations chosen by the Owner, like the sinuous dark brown embroidery – a leitmotiv that is found across all decks. Sinuous lines are, indeed, like a fil rouge accompanying guests in all areas of the yacht. The cockpit on the main deck features large, comfortable living areas and a wide swimming pool with a mosaic that delightfully combines turquoise shades and golden details while also letting plenty of natural light shine through to illuminate the tender bay located below it. The main deck salon includes a large dining room furnished with a stylish round table in walnut wood with silver decorations and chairs embellished by a floral pattern that will add an exclusive touch to equally exclusive gala dinners. The ceiling-high glazing allows the opening of the dining area on three sides, to dine al fresco and enjoy the breathtaking view from the two sided terraces. As specifically requested by the Owner, the galley has been located behind the dining area, and a convenient hatch has been cut out in the wood panelling, making service even more efficient while being discreet and easily concealed when not needed. Amidship, along the corridor, the 1920s Parisian atmosphere embraces and enchants guests, thanks to the Liberty decorations on the doors and the uninterrupted wood panels decorated with floral patterns that separate the main salon from the lobby and the Owner’s apartment. Slightly further, towards the bow, is the exclusive full-beam Owner’s apartment, characterised by a very original layout. The cabin opens up to a living room furnished with a neutral-shade rounded sofa, a very exclusive and private area for the Owner couple.

 master stateroom on vessell

A distinctive element in this area is the fumoir, a private balcony that can also be enjoyed while cruising. The master stateroom impresses for the countless hand-made details, such as the bed headboard in dark walnut wood and light-blue velvet, the soft and sinuous lines of the furniture, the white wool and silk carpeting decorated with the dark brown embroidery that runs across the entire yacht, and the elegant appliques in blown glass. On the right-hand side of the suite is a spacious, exclusive private terrace offering a magnificent view of the sea.

Exclusive open-air living area

Inside the suite, two entrances allow to gain access to the bathroom for him and for her, entirely in magnificent bright Carrara marble. The large circular hydromassage tub and the walkthrough shower are located in the central part of the bathroom, while the finely elegant taps and the doors in processed glass with haut- and bas-relief decorations are all stylishly harmonised details that add a truly unique touch to this room. The Latona is a peaceful, luxurious haven, the peak of CRN’s innovative solutions being reached in the lower deck aft area, which has been turned into a large, exclusive open-air living area integrated with the beach club – over 70 square meters allowing space to enjoy moments of pure celebration both indoor and outdoor. Children can also have fun in the sea-water indoor pool – also featuring a precious blue and turquoise mosaic – that becomes a garage for the tender when the yacht is cruising. The lower deck also hosts the four guest cabins. Two double VIP cabins can be found aft and two twin cabins are located at the bow. All cabins are ensuite, with bathrooms sharing the same style as the Owner’s, from the fine marbles to the large showers with a seat. Reaching the upper deck, guests are welcomed into a large salon devoted to music.

italian vessel

Thanks to the wide side windows and the glazed surfaces opening up to 120°, the music salon is very bright and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Outdoor, guests can find the al fresco dining area, featuring a fully-customized teak table in Liberty style, a bar, and a lovely open-air tea room, the real jewel on this deck. Two large sun pads complete this area, while the inflatable climbing wall will undoubtedly offer unforgettable and exciting adventures. The upper deck lobby is covered by a skylight that lets in plenty of light directly from the sundeck.

Typical Mediterranean style

Walking further towards the bow, the Captain’s cabin and office can be reached, followed by the navigation bridge. The living area and the solarium located in the forward part of the yacht are very large and comfortable. This area also features the concealed garage for the rescue boat – located under a huge sun pad with cushions, a roll-out awning – and two jet skis. The sundeck, in typical Mediterranean style, is made up of three ideally-separate but physically-uninterrupted areas that unite to become one single open space: the dining area, the forward sunbathing area fitted with a Jacuzzi, and the aft solarium, furnished with four sunbeds and an imposing sunbathing area that develops vertically, remains isolated from the rest of the deck and therefore ideal for total relaxation. The inflatable slide, one of the family’s favourite toys, is deployed on one side towards the stern, while the central area, conceived to enjoy the pleasure of sharing meals with the family’s dear ones, also features a pleasant water mist system installed in the ceiling to cool this area when needed. A barbecue and an American Bar can also be found here. Onboard comfort is ensured by latest-generation home automation solutions, allowing control of the audio-video system, the lights, as well as the decorative and black-out curtains using the i-Pads installed in all areas and rooms or directly from one’s own device after downloading the dedicated app. Thanks to two Caterpillar C32 1081kW @ 2300 rpm engines, the superyacht CRN Latona can reach a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Guests and visitors stepping aboard via a swim platform will be greeted by a sunbathing area leading into a lavish beach club. On either side, a staircase connects with the main deck aft and the turquoise mosaic swimming pool with glass bottom sections that illuminates the tender garage below. The main deck cockpit makes for a comfortable and laid-back alfresco lounge comprised of a C-shaped sofa and two drinks tables facing aft for the scenery. Two additional seats are placed either side of the steps leading up to the swimming pool.

The upper deck hosts the grand alfresco dining table to seat up to 12 guests as well as an open-air tea room. The seating curves to create two L-shaped seats facing forward and to the aft two large sun-exposed sunpads. The decking along port and starboard leads to the foredeck, which has a broad C-shaped sofa and two drinks tables enjoying uninterrupted views out across the bow. A canvas shade can be erected for all-day outdoor living, or removed to receive as much sun as the triple sunpads spread across the bow.

On the sundeck the forward section is dedicated to relaxation in the sunshine, offering a sizeable Jacuzzi placed between two sunpads. Under the hardtop there is a barbeque and bar to accompany the elegant alfresco dining area. In-keeping with the mid-20th Century styling, the sundeck aft has a raised 'egg bed' for tranquil time spent on reading or napping in the shade. To complete the sundeck, the aft section is lined with sun loungers

The beautiful bespoke interiors were designed by the CRN in-house team and combine lacquered wood for the doors with pale oak panelling inset with fabrics chosen by the Owner. The Art Noveau theme flows from one room to the next with scrolling along the carpets and marble flooring, Lalique lamps and Murano glass lamps in flower and leaf patterns come together to create enchanting interiors. The lower deck layout treats guests to a large beach club within the stern which is fitted with a curving sofa facing outwards and a wet bar for refreshments throughout the day. Behind, there is a mosaic-tiled port-side sea pool that becomes the tender garage while cruising, and the lower deck also features a mosaic-tiled hammam in blue and gold, a large gym, and a forward solarium. Most of the guest accommodation is placed upon this deck and features two VIP staterooms and two twin cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom finished in Carrara and Calcutta marble.

The Master suite can be found on the main deck forward and the full-beam layout allows for a private lounge, desk and a starboard terrace. The centrepiece of the room is the master bed, which is covered in pale blue velvet and the dark walnut headboard, and above the spotlights on the ceiling are each surrounded by a hand-made flower with five petals. The en-suite bathroom has his and hers entrances and is decorated in the same marbles as the other bathrooms, with recessed lights in yellow adding to the ambiance while the suite occupants soak in the bathtub or use the walk-through shower.

The corridors are just as refined as the rest of the guest areas on board, and the main foyer is finished with a spiral staircase around a glass lift/elevator which is has a wooden back-lit column finished in silverleaf.

LATONA Specifications

On the upper deck behind the bridge, the skylounge vaunts a musical motif and a harp is embellished on the central carpet with a small walnut coffee table in the centre and one large settee following the shape of the classical harp. A grand piano finished in white lacquer provides the evening's entertainment and will serenade guests resting indoors or dining out on the upper deck aft. CRN – 50M Latona

The sea trial was pubblished on Superyacht 60 – Winter 2019

Among the top yachts exhibited at the latest Monaco Yacht Show there’s CRN’s 50 metre an overall work of art: as a recreational/leisure ship, for the interior architecture involved and as a reference point in terms of craftsmanship and finally as an example of how well the almost timeless taste from the ‘Twenties can be flanked by ground breaking technology.

“Latona” from CRN one of the most appreciated world premiered superyachts at the latest MYS is now very much a reality. Zuccon International Project worked closely with the yard’s technical team based in Ancona Italy. Hull and historic lines imported from Super Conero’s from the ‘Sixties inspired the overall design project following the owner’s specific requests. From an architectural view point the 50 metre hull not only sports elegant lines where the bow stem head and stern run geometrically parallel to one another but also in the superstructure above which ends with two long decks enhancing a sense of lightness to the ensemble. This feature is certainly beyond – and perhaps even above ephemeral trends where the sole concession is to be found in enchanting aesthetic audacity represented by the turquoise livery of thehull above the waterline and topsides, and by colour changing hues of the same according to the light reflecting off the contouring water.

crn latona yacht

The outdoor areas feature loads of details beginning from the Mediterranean style sun deck to the bow lounge in which to enjoy relaxing moments and more specially the cockpit area situated along the main deck which sports pale blue hues and turquoise in which you will find comfortable seating facing the swimming pool suitably enriched by theme mosaics, which blend gold like details with the a turquoise base while natural light filters through to the astonishing tender bay situated on the lower deck which can double as an open air lounge flanking the beach club via the solarium, gym, Turkish bath and sea water indoor pool- perfect for guests of any age and an ideal spot in which to tie up the tender inside the yacht when underway.

The yard’s knowledgeable and refined craftsmanship and that of suppliers is best expressed in the interiors oozing with 1920’s liberty styling which is present everywhere starting with the flooring enriched by decorations and carefully selected by the owner just like the dark brown embroidery along every deck: representing a sinuous “motif” which is also on the marble flooring, the carpeting, as well as along the dark oak handrail along the winding indoor staircase contrasting silver like dotted oak joinery and fine fabric inserts and mirrors which line the bulkheads. Decorative handcrafted elements from lacquered doors to Murano glass and metal table lamps with some of nature’s inspiring themes in the shapes of floral bunches and clumps of leaves – typical of Art Nouveau. But let’s proceed in orderly fashion beginning from the main deck where we find an elegant round walnut table with silver decorative elements enriched by contouring chairs sporting floral designs which seem to be almost framed into the Emperor Dark embroidery over the flooring flanked by floor to ceiling window like panels which flood the area with loads of natural light. The view from here extends beyond the two lateral terraces to the surrounding panorama. Behind this internal dining area we come to a fully equipped professional galley with a useful dumb waiter which is totally hidden from view when not deployed.

The same ‘Twenties floral designs along the corridor and on doors decorate the interior layout amidships up to the lobby – where you can choose to take the lift which connects the fours decks to one another or make use of an elegant winding staircase – which also leads to the owner’s sumptuous quarters situated further forward towards the bows which are made up of a living room with a sofa to port situated in a balcony which deploys as a smoking room. Forward of this we come to the owner’s cabin proper, detailed with precious embellishments such as a wonderful dark walnut headboard, the face of which is lined in blue velvet at the top end. A pair of lamps made of blown glass are placed on both sides of the bed. White wool and silk carpeting on the floor with the recurring dark brown embroidery displaying artful floral design work made up of long stemmed flowers with five petals complete the picture, created by the exceptional ability of master cabinet makers. The starboard side boasts an ample private terrace. Two separate accesses lead to the his /her areas of a large elegant bathroom in shiny white Carrara marble which reflects Emperor dark shades of two spectacular wash basins. A round shaped and large hydro-massage tub and shower unit are installed at centre. Processed glass doors and their bas-reliefs harmonize well with the taps and fittings in the bathroom. The lower aft section of the lower deck in proximity of the stern, houses Latona’s wellness area where we find an ample beach club area with an integrated lounge totalling 70 square metres, in which to spend convivial moments inside and out, a Turkish bath decorated with fine mosaics and a fitness sector in which to work out is situated near several water toys. Furthermore the indoor sea water filled pool and tender docking bay offers children a wonderful opportunity to amuse themselves in total safety once the yacht’s tender has been launched.

Four guest cabins are situated along this same deck, two VIP cabins further aft are decorated with fine fabric, lacquered panels and mirrors with carpeting which thanks to wavy motifs recall the sea. Forward of these two twins with private bathrooms decked out with precious marbles and large shower units with seating space, are much like the one in the owner’s quarters. One of these is dedicated to children and sports bunk beds plus a foldaway single for a nanny perhaps. The second twin can convert into a double and also has a single foldaway bed. The bow area along the same deck houses the crew’s quarters for up to eight excluding the captain. This area has a separate entrance. The upper deck offers a spacious saloon with plenty of natural light from a skylight and ample glass panels and a great view guests can enjoy. It is furnished with a grand piano lacquered in white. A “liberty” atmosphere typical of the Twenties prevails in this area as well where we find a lyre, a musical instrument which is typical of the period’s iconography. Lalique lighting delivers a pleasant welcoming atmosphere. The entire area aft, towards the stern is taken up by the external dining area furnished with a teak table, a bar corner, a tea room and two comfortable sunbathing spots. Forward towards the bow we come to the captain’s lodgings made up of an office and comfortable cabin which precede a wonderful helm controls station embellished by the same dark brown decor, which is widely used throughout. Another lounge and solarium are to be found along this deck as well, which also houses a rescue boat which is normally hidden from view and two jet skis. On one side of the topsides there’s an inflatable wall for the amusement of the younger group which has been specially devised to allow climbing exercises with no danger whatsoever. So onwards and upwards to the sundeck which offers three diverse areas which merge into one space. Starting from the stern: another sun bathing spot with four ergonomic sun beds, a dining area with an oval shaped table, wet bar, barbeque, a nebuliser plant, a Jacuzzi hydro-massage tub while an inflatable slide which is a favourite toy to the owner’s family is installed laterally aft towards the stern area.

In a nutshell we can say that in those 50 metres, Latona offers her guests – a maximum of ten – a very high level of undisputed comfort by way of an efficient noise dampening plant and stabilisers flanked by latest generation domotics. Thanks to a pair of Caterpillar C32 engines with an output of 1,081 KW each which is equal to 1,470 HP, Latona can reach a top speed of 16 knots with a recommended cruising speed of 14. At 11 knots the yacht’s range is 3,600 nautical miles.

LATONA // CRN // 50m

Crn announced the launch of the 50m latona.

LATONA was designed by Zuccon International Project in cooperation with CRN’s Engineering and Interiors & Design. The Superconero of the sixties inspired the yacht.

The yacht has a beam of 8.60m and five decks. Furthermore, she features a balcony and terrace overlooking the sea. LATONA accommodates ten guests and a crew of nine.

Motor Yacht Latona CRN

Alberto Galassi , CEO of the Ferretti Group comments:

“ Every launch is a reason for great pride for the shipyard.   This complex, magnificent, 50 meters construction, realizes the desire of a selective and resolute Owner, who has turned to the expertise and the ability of CRN to build his personal project, turning his vision into a magnificent vessel.”

Rendering of the Superconero

She is equipped with a floodable tender garage. Here an example on M/Y J’ade – also built by CRN. A very cool way to launch and store the tender without the use of cranes and davits.
