I saw this yacht listed for sale again on Yachtworld. According to the listing the owner had a lot of work done to her, from what I learned 3 years ago it was in very bad shape. I hope it is restored, I think it is one beautiful yacht.

When I was looking for a boat I "looked" at both the Jongerts (1987 78 footer and 1986 82 footer). The 78 footer was in close to Bristol condition when I last saw her in approximately 2018; it was obviously a well loved boat that was used often (not a dock Queen) and maintained without regard to ROI. The owner and I could just not come to terms, it remains one of my all time favorite boats. I went to survey on the 82 footer. Remains my "dream boat"; to this day I think "what if". The 82 needed some work and I didn't have the bandwidth at the time. Boat had HUGE potential. Both boats are, in my opinion, the epitome of what can be accomplished in a small boat / ship. EVERYTHING else I've seen pales in comparison to the quality that went into the original builds on both of these vessels. In summary, the 78 has received and appears to continue to receive exemplary care in keeping with the class of yacht that she is. The 82 needed some work, but also appears to be nearing the end to a restorative yard visit. Here are some sneak peaks of the 85 Jongert now named “Precious Cargo” as she nears the end of her refit. I hope we will soon get to see more pictures. I do have a question though, when you bought the boat I imagine that is the amount your insurance company insured it for. I have often wondered if insurance companies will increase the value of the boat based on your upgrades. I have to admit, even though I restored 2 boats, I never checked on upgrading the value of the boats. I had a broker tell me one time he goes by the age of the boat to determine it value, he said buyers expect a boat to be in good mechanical, electrical, and any other system to be in working order. I have to admit that was the only time I talked to him I thought he didn't know what he was talking about. I say broker but I have to admit I never checked if he was the broker or sales agent, he showed me a Grand Banks in the Norfolk, VA area.

The 32.5m/106'8" sail yacht 'Sunleigh' (ex. Red Sula) was built by Jongert in the Netherlands at their Medemblik shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Peter Sijm and she was completed in 2002. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Tony Castro and she was last refitted in 2007.

Sunleigh has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Sunleigh is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by 1 x diesel Scania (DI-12 42M) 498hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots with a range of up to 2,303 nautical miles from her 9,600 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Jongert sailing yacht Azzura sold

The 29.26 metre sailing yacht Azzura , listed for sale by Hank Halsted at Northrop and Johnson , has been sold with Dana Davidson at Davidson Yachts introducing the buyer.

Designed by Doug Peterson , she was built in aluminium to Lloyd's class by the renowned Dutch yard Jongert and launched in 1998. Together with her tall cutter rig, slim-line freeboard and low-profile deckhouse, she offers outstanding performance combined with luxury and comfort throughout. An interior design by Peter Sijm sees the dining area in the calm, mahogany panelled saloon fitted with two C-shaped settees opposite each other, providing plenty of elbow room and keeping the conversation flowing. There is also a wet bar with individual stools to port.

Outside, the large aft cockpit has ample room for up to six guests to dine al fresco. A refit in 2007/2008 saw her receive new decks, rigging, paint, generators and much more. Azzura  can sleep up to six guests in a master suite and two twin cabins, all with en-suite facilities.
