Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Designated a world heritage site in 2004, the Islas Marietas National Park tour is undoubtedly one of the  best things to do in Puerto Vallarta . These islands are also known as the “Mexican Galapagos”.

Its beautiful hidden beach, Playa del Amor, is  incredibly unique , and the surrounding area is magnificent.

The Marietas Islands got their shape and impressive geography due to  volcanic activity  many centuries ago. To add to that, it was a  bomb test site  for the Mexican military back in the 1900s. The large explosions caused many of the caves and rock formations to be created. In the 1960s, the government decided to declare the islands a national park.

$350 total for this private boat tour --

12pm - Pickup at Las Animas

3:30pm - Leave Majahuitas

4pm - Arrive in Yelapa

5:30pm - Leave Yelapa

6:30pm - Arrive at Los Muertos Pier

6.5 hour day, 6 people, and at least two carry on suitcases. I feel like it's a lot of money, but also would rather have the security of a private boat and somewhere to keep our stuff while we explore.

Alternative is to cut out Yelapa, but it'll be the only day we can fit it in. We won't be doing the waterfall, just want to grab dinner.

That is exactly the price it should be. $50/hour, so I doubt you'd do better..

I agree with post #1. We’ve done lots of private boat tours / day trips and that’s the going rate these days. You’ll have a great time and it will be something you will remember. Plus, don’t forget to tip.

I see it’s for 6 people and that’s even better. You can split that price! Unless of course the “6” is just your family. Still you’ll have so much fun!

Yep 6 is me, my husband, and our four kids (one who is 20, so it's not as much work as it sounds haha) :)

Like everything else the cost has gone up to $55/hr so 6.5 hrs the price is right on.

My only warning is watch the age of your captain or better yet ask to see their license. There are alot of young boys being used as captains that don't have a captains license.

Two accidents have happened recently involving young, non licensed captains.

The license process is long and expensive and if they don't pass the physical they have to wait a year to re-apply. If they have cavities, color blindness, need glasses, are over weight it is an automatic fail. To top it off they have to do a fasting blood sugar and the licensing exam is administered at a clinic in Tepic. Sometimes it is so crowded they don't get seen until 3 or 4 in the afternoon, fasting since midnight the night before. For these reasons boat owners don't pay for the captains license, especially on the young guys they hire to run their boat, most of which don't stay, so the owner has paid for a license and now has no captain to run his boat.

Katnsocal that is all very interesting about the Captain's license. :) Having a cavity, that was definitely a new one for me. I get it though, just didn't realize the license was that thorough.

By law the license has to be in the captains possession and the boat registration/inspection has to be on the boat. The Navy can and does stop the boats asking for their paperwork.

Please heed katnsocal's advice. ( there have been so many boating issues never mentioned or only mentioned on mx news, caution)
