Her displacement hull and fuel-efficient single 300 HP John Deere diesel main engine will cruise her at 8 knots with a maximum speed of 11 knots.

An Onan 13.5 KW generator, a 730-watt telescoping solar panel array on the pilothouse roof, and two Victron LiFEPO4 215Ah batteries provide more than adequate underway and at anchor power for the boat.

Additional features like the Keypower get home auxiliary prop drive system, 600 gallons per day water maker, KVH Satellite TV system, and individual washer and dryer unit make this boat very comfortable for long periods on the loop, offshore, or in the islands.

Boarding into the cockpit on Double Dutch can be done through the starboard gunwale door or via the swim platform and transom door. The spacious cockpit does provide access to narrow walkways starboard and port with stainless steel grab bars on both side. A single sliding door to the salon is to port in the cockpit and leads into a spacious well-appointed salon and galley customary for Ocean Alexander. The salon is aft with an L-shaped sofa to starboard and the entertainment center on the port bulkhead. Forward of the salon to starboard is the large U-shaped galley, and to port forward in the space is the companionway up to the pilothouse. Upon entering the pilothouse, the companionway down to berthing is immediately forward and there are port and starboard sliding wing doors for foredeck access. The pilothouse itself is incredibly spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable with a large black leather helm chair in the center. The helm is centered in the space with a settee and separate watch berth aft. Upon descending into the sleeping quarter's master stateroom with a centered queen berth aft under the pilothouse with a full ensuite head to port. The guest wet head is forward of the master stateroom to starboard and the guest stateroom with opposing up-down single berths is located forward. Exiting the pilothouse wing door to port is access to the top deck and flybridge aft and forward to the foredeck seating and then through the Portuguese bridge door to starboard to the bow.

M/Y Astra can sleep four comfortably in her two staterooms with a centered queen in the master stateroom and opposing up-down single bunks in the guest stateroom.

An additional three guests can find accommodations, one on the L-shaped sofa in the salon and two in the pilothouse, one in the watch berth, and one on the settee.

Master Stateroom The spacious master stateroom features a centered queen berth extending from the starboard bulkhead. There are two opening portlights, a reading light on each side, and a fan above the head of the berth. Hanging lockers and built-in nightstands are on either side of the berth. Mounted under the aft hanging locker is a CyberHome CH-DVD 300 DVD/MP3 player and an LG flatscreen TV is mounted aft above the foot of the bed. Additional storage drawers are located under the berth. The sole is teak and holly and the space is accented with LED lighting. The entrance to the ensuite head is centered to port at the foot of the berth.

The guest stateroom is forward in the bow and features opposing single up-down berths. Above each berth has a single-opening portlight, a reading lamp, and a built-in shelf. Below each berth are storage drawers and cabinets. Salon The spacious salon features an L-shaped Ultraleather sofa along the starboard aft and starboard bulkheads, a teak hi/lo table, and two Ultraleather single ottomans. There are four large tinted windows in the salon, two to port, one to starboard, and one aft, two of which open, and the large sliding diamond Glaze waterproof door to the cockpit. This door also has a custom screen to allow airflow but restrict unwanted visitors. The sole is teak and holly and large teak storage cabinets along the port bulkhead storage and access to the home theater entertainment system and flatscreen Vizio TV. LED lighting throughout the salon and galley provides great energy-conscious lighting for the space and there are speakers in the ceiling for the home theater. Teak grab rails in the overhead are provided for additional safety.

Pilothouse The spacious pilothouse is not only stunning and comfortable for not only the captain but will seat and sleep several others. The large black leather Stidd helm chair is mounted in the center of the space and faces a well-equipped helm. The pilothouse has great visibility for navigation and will keep the crew out of any inclement weather. It also has a Gebo overhead hatch with an Oceanair shade and screen. A large bench settee with a wide teak table is just forward of a watch berth in the aft section of the space. There are two opening portlights in the aft bulkhead of the pilothouse. Two large sliding wing doors provide adequate access for navigation, anchoring, and line-handling operations.

Flybridge The flybridge is primarily configured for navigation purposes with a Stidd two-place bench helm chair, a small two-place bench seat to port, and a well-equipped helm. There is a bimini over the helm and flybridge (added in 2018) and custom covers for the helm and helm seat. Black skirting was also added in 2018, along with rattan sectional seating (a dinghy rack has been placed in storage). The flybridge helm is equipped with the following electronics and equipment:

Looking for a fuel-efficient coastal cruising trawler that can head straight to the Bahamas or do the Great Loop? Sea Traveler is a 2006 Ocean Alexander 50 Classicco powered by a 300 HP John Deere 6068, and a smooth ride underway courtesy of her Naiad active fins stabilizers.  She is very well equipped and has had an active and continual improved life.  Her impressive equipment includes 12” touchscreen chart plotter displays in both helm stations for easy navigation planning, bow and stern thrusters to simplify docking, a Northern Lights generator to keep you charged and Cruisair air conditioning to keep you climate happy running north or south through the latitudes.

Ocean Alexander has been building top quality power yachts for decades. Better known for their motor yachts, those in the know are familiar with their strong entrance to the trawler market with their popular Classicco series.  The 50 Classicco is an excellent coastal cruiser featuring two staterooms and two heads configured with a raised pilothouse with flybridge atop.  She was designed and built for an owner operator couple who want to explore new shores.

Sea Traveler’s interior layout is rich with teak furnishings.  This is a classic trawler arrangement with saloon and galley merged, then up through the pilothouse and down forward to the staterooms.  The owner stateroom is amidships below the pilothouse and has an ensuite head and shower. The second stateroom is forward with single berths and the separate head with shower is convenient for crew at the base of the stairs make it easy to bring along guests. You will find storage for belongings and provisions throughout and you will be impressed with the care and attention that has kept her condition fresh.

Like many well thought out trawlers, the outside spaces were also a priority. Forward of the helm is a protected Portuguese bridge leading to the foredeck. Above the saloon is a large boat deck for the tender that connects forward to the flybridge and aft is the swim platform and cockpit.

DESCRIPTION:

Cockpit: You can board Sea Traveler through one of three entry gates positioned aft, to port and to starboard. The swim platform makes it easy to step in or out of your tender and convenient for swimming  The cockpit has stout bulwarks and is floored with teak decking.  All of the hawsepipes with cleat horns are recessed.  There is a hot/cold cockpit shower, fresh and seawater hose bib and the remote panel for the watermaker.

Lazarette: This area can be accessed from the engine room or, more commonly, from a large hinged hatch in the cockpit. There is a short ladder with teak treads. The lazarette has easy access for servicing the steering system and looking after the stern thruster.  This is also where the watermaker module components are mounted.  This is a spacious place for storage.

Designed as a versatile replacement for the award-winning Leopard 48 (Boat of the Year 2012), the new Leopard 50 is an exciting new cruising sailing catamaran taking the best of Leopard Catamarans’ previous features yet boasting new innovations and design elements both on the exterior and interior.

With naval architecture by Simonis & Voogd Yacht Design, and with exterior and a fresh new look on the interior design by the world-class design team at Robertson and Caine, the Leopard 50 proudly ushers in the next generation of Leopard Catamarans’ style and functionality.

While the exterior of the yacht has been enhanced, Naval Architect for Simonis Voogd Design, Alexander Simonis, tells us this:

“Most of the work has been done ‘under the bonnet’ so to say by advances made in the construction geometry of the new 50. To create the beautiful open plan layouts and the nearly 360-degree view from the saloon area while at the same time have a strong and stiff yacht which is not too heavy requires advanced engineering solutions.

The new Leopard 50 makes use of carbon-infused ring frames in the most critical areas to achieve this. This type of construction has been pioneered on the larger all carbon racing catamarans and is now successfully being applied in this Leopard cruising catamaran so that we can offer the best possible mix between comfort, space and performance.”

The innovative flybridge on the Leopard 50 includes a lounge area, a sunbed and shade awning. Access to the flybridge is provided by floating stairs leading up from the aft cockpit. While under sail, passengers can move about the flybridge with ample headroom and never worry about interference from the boom.
