"We have a history of building ground-breaking boats, and never has this been so true as with the 93 Motor Yacht," says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey.

The tri-deck motor yacht, powered with twin state-of-the-art 1,945-hp MTU diesels, combines the performance of a convertible sportfish with the luxury and accommodations of a motor yacht. She tops out from 26.5-27.5 knots and cruises from 21-24 knots. The 93 MY runs fast, but she also has the legs for long-distance destination cruises, with a range exceeding 400 nautical miles at cruising speeds.

With a 24-foot, 4-inch beam, the vessel holds five staterooms and seven heads, two expansive salons and after decks, a huge forward galley, 12 televisions, storage for a tender and crew quarters for three. "Everything from the engineroom to the staterooms to the showers to the galley to the salon is big, accommodating and comfortable," says Pat. "In the U.S. Ñ and in all of the Americas Ñ people like big, and that's what we're giving them."

You'll be hard-pressed to find this level of engineering in any other motor yacht. In our industry-leading engineroom, our custom exhaust system serves as an example of our experience and attention to detail. Painted with Awlgrip in bright Snow White for easier visibility and maintenance, the engineroom is equipped with technologically advanced but easy-to-maintain systems for engineroom ventilation, air conditioning, fire suppression, oil changing and centralized seawater and freshwater.

Enclosed Bridge The enclosed bridge, accessed from the salon and lower after deck, showcases an impressive center helm with a Stidd helm chair and flanking Stidd companion seats. Navigation and communication systems from the Viking subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics assure turnkey delivery. Open the large powered sunroof to invite in the sunshine and sea breeze as you relax in the L-shaped sofa that faces a pop-up flat-screen HD TV. A day head adds to the overall convenience of this unique area.

Main Deck Enjoy the outdoors on the expansive forward and aft decks. The foredeck is loaded with comfortable padded seating and lounges that sit atop storage compartments, easily accessed with gas piston-assisted hatch lids. The aft deck dinette includes a U-shaped settee and twin solid teak leaf tables that allow you to create one single, large dining table. Forward, there's a bar with an L-shaped counter, three polished stainless steel bar stools, a fold-out television, refrigeration, an ice maker, a storage cabinet and a sink. Dual staircases on the port and starboard sides lead down to the hydraulically powered swim platform, which provides access to the garage that can house a dinghy or other small watercraft.

Enter the salon through polished stainless-steel framed sliding glass doors. The salon offers a U-shaped seating area with two end tables, a cocktail table, a home entertainment center with pop-up 65-inch flat-screen HD TV and a formal dining area for eight. Starboard-side hydraulic-powered sliding doors lead to a teak-covered sidedeck, and a powered balcony door that opens outboard with the touch of a button.

The galley, forward of the salon, has the pleasant atmosphere of a country kitchen. Four fixed bar stools with footrests rim an island Caesarstone-topped counter. Just aft of the windshield, there's also a forward banquette with a table. The latest appliances and conveniences are easily accessible and include a full-size 7-foot-tall Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, microwave/convection oven and a four-burner cooktop with a conventional oven below. A 32-inch flat-screen TV fixed outboard of the cabinetry on the port side can be viewed from both the bar and the banquette. A day head is just a few steps away on the starboard side.

Accommodations You'll find spaciousness and elegance throughout the five-stateroom layout below. The privately accessed full beam master suite is royally appointed with designer touches, including plush wall-to-wall premium carpeting, a king-size bed, a surround-sound entertainment system with 65-inch flat-screen HD TV, a walk-in closet, a port-side vanity and a starboard table with two chairs and an ensuite head. Generous amounts of natural light fill stateroom, accentuating the high-gloss walnut woodwork.

With her striking Flag Blue exterior, swept-back profile and elegant starboard-side balcony, this seven-stateroom, two-salon beauty was the star of the recent boat show season. And it’s no wonder as she features dazzling indoor and outdoor entertainment and dining areas, superb workmanship, large comfortable entertainment zones as well as royally-appointed private staterooms.

Her main aft deck is adorned with custom flexible toe kick lighting and overhead linear lighting that can be shown in multiple colors and programmed to the beat of your favorite music. Sliding stainless-steel-framed glass doors open wide, leading you from the teak aft deck to the stylish and luxurious salon. Walnut woodwork with a gloss finish complements hardwood flooring in the salon and galley.

Making full use of a beam that spans 24 ft. 4 in., the 93’s interior has more volume than many 100-plus-footers. A three-piece sofa, a swivel chair, a custom two-piece polished white marble cocktail table, end tables and an entertainment center with a pop-up 65-inch HD TV highlight the salon’s many amenities. Guests will be awed by this yacht’s formal dining area, which seats eight and features a tray ceiling with LED lighting that illuminates a finely crafted custom wood table. The bulkhead separating the dining area and forward galley is dressed with a custom Chinchilla Night Blue fabric upholstered in symmetrical blocks, creating a soft tactile look, with a centered painting under its own light.

Chefs have all of the latest appliances and conveniences at their disposal in the forward country kitchen-style galley, including a full-size 7-foot-tall Sub-Zero refrigerator, microwave convection oven, four-burner cooktop with conventional oven below, dishwasher, a two-bowl stainless steel sink and a trash compactor. Four bar stools surround a galley island that’s topped with jet black Caesarstone. A raised banquette with a walnut table faces aft. Large wraparound forward windows bring the outside in, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while you have breakfast, lunch or a snack.

The enclosed bridge not only serves as the control station for the captain but as a second salon, with an L-shaped sofa to port, cocktail table with Caesarstone top and two ottomans (with interior storage), an entertainment center with a 55″ HD TV and a day head. The glass-paneled sunroof and its shade are electric powered as is the aft windshield above the bar. The stainless- steel-framed bi-folding glass doors open to the aft teak deck – yet another exquisite gathering area that invites socialization, complete with a bar and a grill, corner sink, refrigerator and four-stool seating. A custom interior stainless steel staircase connects the enclosed bridge with the salon, plus exterior stairs join the upper and lower aft decks.

A starboard-side staircase in the salon provides private access to the master stateroom, while a second stairway forward leads to four additional staterooms. The master stateroom is particularly commodious and luxurious. Spanning the beam, this large space includes a king bed, a 65″ HD TV, a port-side vanity/desk and a walk-closet. Large enough for two people to comfortably move about, the head is appointed with twin sinks, a mirrored ceiling and a walk-in shower. The vanity top and shower floor and walls are made with Caesarstone – their grey and off-white colors blend artfully with the custom wallpaper. The forward VIP stateroom’s raised queen bed with oversized walk-around area has a skylight with hatch and Oceanair screen shade. Channell Glass artwork is ensconced in the custom headboard.

The captain and crew also have first-class accommodations, and direct access to the engine room. A common area, which includes a countertop with microwave and refrigerator and a seating areas with fold-down table, separates the captain’s and the crew stateroom. Each has a 22″ flat-screen TV, a hanging locker, an end table and carpeted floor.

A pair of state-of-the-art Caterpillar C32A (1925MHP) engines are mounted in Viking’s expertly engineered and constructed engine room, which is also equipped with a Seakeeper gyro SK 35, twin 55 kW gensets and an ASEA transformer. The powerplants team up with a bow and stern thruster and are tied into ZF’s JMS with joystick and station keeping. Dual wing stations are ideal for docking situations. The Viking 92C is a 93-foot convertible sportfishing yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the New Jersey-based yacht building firm in 2014. The Viking 92C comes fitted with a Palm Beach tower for elevated views, piloting and angling when out at sea, with aluminum ladder access back down to the flybridge. The bridge on this model provides an unrivalled amount of space for a vessel of this class, and boasts a rear facing loveseat, a pair of side sofas, curved forward sofas, a C-shaped dining sofa with a teak and burl cocktail table, as well as wet-bar and outdoor grill facilities. Of course, the bridge is not simply a place to relax, but sits at the heart of the 92C’s piloting experience. Three Stidd or Release Marine helm chairs face a helm station crafted by Atlantic Marine Electronics that has been fine-tuned around the demands of tournament bill-fishing. There are displays and controls from Garmin, a proprietary VIPER steering system and bow thruster controls up here for intuitive and responsive handling and navigation.

Step access leads down to a 238-square-foot aft-cockpit that will wow even veteran tournament fishermen. This teak-lined space includes a transom door with a lift gate, an Eskimo ice-chipper, flush and mounted rod holders, fresh and salt-water hoses, tackle cabinets, an illuminated fishbox, two refrigerated livewells, electric teaser reels and a floor plate for fighting chairs or rocket launchers. Unusually for a sportfishing yacht, the cockpit has a double-tiered mezzanine with room for a four-seater, rear-facing sofa adjoining a sheltered aft-deck with a dining sofa and a wet-bar console.

The internal cockpit on this model looks less like a fishing boat and more like an Italian superyacht in terms of both size and style. Plush carpeting, leather furnishings, teak cabinets, satin-finished walnut walls and panoramic windows offer a refined yet relaxed space in which to unwind after a tough day chasing your prized catches. To port there are a pair of L-shaped sofas surrounding matching coffee tables and a pair of armchairs, while to starboard there is cabinetry, a space for a 40-inch UHD TV and a wet-bar station that connects to the aft deck. Positioned amidship there is a port-side formal dining table directly across from a walk-in galley kitchen with an L-shaped cocktail bar and five bar stools. The kitchen impresses with authentic granite worktops, a four-zone hob, a double sink, a combination oven and a below-counter Sub-Zero fridge. At the front of the cockpit sits a day-head and a storage room that transforms into a pantry or even a main-deck guest cabin.

Below deck there are five en suite staterooms for up to ten overnight guests, as well as a privately accessed rear crew quarters. The stand-out room down here is the full-beam owner’s stateroom that features side windows, a starboard side work-desk, a port-side loveseat, a king-sized bed, a walk-in dressing room with triple maple-lined hanging closets and a spectacular full-beam bathroom with a pair of sinks, two heads, granite counters and a central waterfall shower stall.

The unique challenge that Viking faced when constructing a sportfishing yacht of this size was making sure that the 92C remained as quick and as nimble as smaller yachts in this range. This model appears to have passed the test with flying colors, with top speeds of almost 40 knots achieved thanks to a pair of MTU 16V M96L 2635MHP triple-turbo diesel engines. The Viking 92C can also be fitted with an NG35 Seakeeper stabilizer for reduced roll when out on the waves and features a proprietary planing hull that offers reduced drag and plenty of lift. A fuel tank holding over 15,000 liters of diesel, meanwhile, provides a maximum range of over 1,500 nautical miles when you pilot this vessel at cruising speeds of around 12 knots.

Johnson Yachts Building 93-Footer

Taiwanese builder Johnson Yachts celebrates its 30th anniversary with the semicustom Johnson 93. Like many Johnson yachts, this 93-footer’s exterior is designed by Dixon Yacht Design. And among many other features, it has what the builder calls its signature “dual level vertical windows.”

Thanks to those wraparound windows, this yacht’s main-deck master suite as well as her raised pilothouse have 270-degree views. Most of the windows are tinted black but the five in the center of the pilothouse are clear tempered glass for clean sightlines in low light.

The main-deck master also has a centerline king-size berth and a step-down en suite head forward with his-and-hers sinks, marble countertops and marble soles. In fact, all four en suite guest heads have marble countertops and soles.

Aft, this 93’s main-deck salon with L-shaped settee and swivel chairs would be a great spot to lounge post-dinner and take in a movie on the 50-inch pop-up TV to starboard. Next to here is a bar with an ice maker, a 24-bottle wine cooler and open-shelf wine bottle stowage. Her galley, which is forward and to port, has a splash of marble for its sole, but the countertops are stainless steel to match its 5-burner cooktop, oven, refrigerator and more.

This 93’s amidships VIP belowdecks spans the yacht’s entire 23-foot-7-inch beam. The stateroom not only has his-and-hers sinks, but entrances and toilets as well, all separated by the shared shower. The space has a desk or dressing table to port as well as a dinette.

Two more guest staterooms with twin berths are belowdecks, but the portside stateroom’s twins combine to make a double. Each has a cedar-lined hanging locker and an entertainment system. The yacht can be fitted out with anywhere from three to six staterooms, and can accommodate choices like a country kitchen instead of the main-deck master.

Finally, guests should enjoy relaxing on the 93’s flybridge, perhaps at the U-shaped settee and table under the hardtop, or maybe on some lounge chairs aft in the sun. Either way, they might have a kabob and cocktail in hand from the wet bar, grill and counter to port. A helm station with a captain’s chair plus companion’s seat, as well as a bench seat opposite, are also here.

Performance-wise, this yacht’s 1,925 hp Caterpillar C32s push her to a reported 24-knot top hop, and she cruises at 21 knots.

Johnson says the 93 is another product of successfully standardized mechanical and electrical systems thanks to its series production of 30 yachts in the 93- to 110-foot range.

Ft. Lauderdale’s Gilman Yachts , the U.S. East Coast dealer for this Johnson 93, is asking for $4,300,00.

High on the owner’s wishlist was the ability to dive in warmer climates and heli-ski in colder climates. To that end, Supernova is equipped with a large helipad on the bridge deck aft and an integrated crane that can launch and retrieve toys or tenders. It also sports two 39-foot storage containers that can hold everything from bikes and scooters to beach buggies and cars. To facilitate further exploration, Supernova features an expansive beach club with fold-out platforms that provide direct access to the sea and a dive center stocked with all you need to traverse the underwater world.

As for the interior, the owner requested a contemporary take on classic American decor with a masculine feel. Dark wood paneling is contrasted with a subtle palette of grays, blues, and browns. Similarly, leather and bronze accents play against the textured walls and oak furniture. The juxtaposition between hues and materials is perhaps best illustrated in the main salon where a hammered rock centerpiece sits next to a soft calf-skin bar.

Other highlights include a forward cigar lounge that can double as an office, a “treasure cabinet” that holds all the owner’s trinkets, and a living wall that brings the outdoor world in. To top it off, literally, the sundeck offers a Jacuzzi, bar, sunbeds, and panoramic views.
