I did the tour to icacos island and palomino with the captain Jay, pablito and I forgot the tall guy name but three of them were great! We had a blast on our tour. Drinks were amazing. The crew was making sure we were safe and the most important part make sure we had fun and we enjoy the tour. Thanks for everything !! I will be back.

The spot chosen for snorkeling was just amazing. Flamenco beach is definitely a must. But what made a difference is the awesome Sail Getaways crew. All of them were super attentive and nice with us. They went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect. Not once I had to order for a refill of my drink. 11 out of 10, 100% recommended, I'll definitely repeat.

Was all of our first time and it was so beautiful and fun. We got to see a barracuda, big jellyfish and a bunch of other little fish. We enjoyed the guys explaining everything, Oscar was fun and kept us entertained since the music wasn't working haha. Loved that lunch and alcohol was included, was so worth the money!

We went with a friend to visit Culebra Island and everything was very nice, the trip was very pleasant, the guides were very attentive, VERY good music and food, I recommend them, 10/10!!

Wonderful experience. Clear turquoise water, white sandy beaches, lush green islands, and a remarkable crew. It was a perfect day of swimming, snorkeling, and positive vibes all around. Highly recommend these guys.

My friend and I took the tour to Tamarindo and Flamenco beach and it was amazing. The weather was perfect which made the ride super smooth. We were a fortunate group to enjoy a beautiful day. It was our first time experience and we loved it. We are beginner swimmers (to say the least) and the gentlemen were kind enough to get in the water with us so we wouldn’t miss the opportunity. Everyone on the boat was super friendly and made us feel like family! It’s definitely a must do activity when visiting the island. Looking forward to many more!!!

It was soo much fun. We took off on time went snorkeling not many fishes but still a great experience then we went to the flamingo island and got 2 hours to ourself to enjoy l. Crew was super friendly and kept the drinks coming. Would totally recommend

Great quick getaway for our group of 13. Quick boat ride to snorkel, excellent fish viewing and lunch. Then a quick boat ride to Flamenco Beach to wander around. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and patient.

We took the three-in-one catamaran getaway on New Year's Day with Omar and Arturo. Our group was 2 adults a 9 year old and a 5 year old. All of us had an amazing time. Omar and Arturo were awesome sailors/hosts/guides making sure they got us to Icacos safely for snorkeling, answered all our questions, taught us about Puerto Rico and even served us delicious drinks and snacks. A really beautiful afternoon/evening with super friendly guides, Omar and Arturo.

A Superb Adventure in Fajardo, PR

"Great value! Beautiful day on the ocean with 2 stops - the first one more beach-oriented and a chance to practice snorkeling, the second at Tortuga Reef for in-depth snorkeling. The crew were wonderful and the lunch provided exceeded expectations - all fresh, and freshly-prepared sandwich fixings and salads. Even fresh fruit & veg. The free unlimited drinks are not very strong, but for $2, they'll add a shot of rum. Fins, masks and snorkels are provided, which simplifies logistics. We had a great time."

"We had a perfect day for snorkeling and a crew made the entire trip fun and exciting. Great lunch spread and delicious drink selection. Perfect trip for families of all ages. We would recommend the Spread Eagle II for anyone snorkeling out of Fajardo"

"At first I thought there were too many people on the boat but it worked out fine. We had a nice day. The small island where we first stopped had several other boats there. It would have been nice to have landed at a more private place. Same for the spot where we snorkeled. The water was beautiful. We saw some fish, Be sure to wear sun screen!"

"We had a fun day with the friendly and professional crew. Even though the snorkeling visibility was not great, the sailing was fun, the day was beautiful and the whole family enjoyed it. This is definitely a great idea for an outing with anyone from kids to grandparents. People who don't want to snorkel can beachcomb, swim, or just enjoy piña coladas on the catamaran. :)"

Sailing on a catamaran in puerto rico.

Puerto Rico is one of the locations in the Caribbean that makes you dream. Colourful houses, stunning beaches, turquoise waters and delicious food are the perfect mix for a wonderful sailing vacation in Puerto Rico on a catamaran charter . Discover the best this part of the Caribbean has to offer and see what the locals enjoy about their country most.

The pros of renting a catamaran in Puerto Rico

One of the advantages of renting a catamaran in Puerto Rico is that catamarans are equipped with a sail and an engine, meaning that they are well-prepared for all kinds of weather and wind conditions. You can use the sail when the wind picks up or sail with the engine should the wind suddenly stop.

Another advantage of chartering a catamaran in Puerto Rico is the fact that they have a shallow draft. This makes them the perfect boats to explore the Puerto Rican coast with all its secluded bays, beaches and coves. The west area of the island is considered one of the most beautiful parts of Puerto Rico and catamarans are the perfect boats to explore this area.

If you want to rent a catamaran in Puerto Rico, you will be very happy to know that catamarans are generally quite spacious, making you feel less like sleeping in a tiny cabin on a boat, but more like in a hotelroom on water.

The cons of renting a catamaran in Puerto Rico

One of the downsides of renting a catamaran in Puerto Rico can be their size. While it might seem amazing to sleep in a room with a lot of space while sailing around the Caribbean, it can come with some difficulties. Space in the marinas is limited and finding a space for mooring with a catamaran can be quite difficult. If you are lucky enough to find a spot for mooring, your enthusiasm might not last for long. Often you have to pay extra for extra space as catamarans can take up more space than other types of boats.

The most popular catamarans to rent in Puerto Rico

One of the most popular catamarans to rent in Puerto Rico is Catamaran Lagoon 420 which is available to rent in Fajardo. Up to eight people fit on board the boat and it can be chartered with or without a captain. The stunning interior brings the sun from outside inside the catamaran.

Another popular catamaran rental in Puerto Rico is Catamaran Lagoon 380 which is also available to rent in Fajardo. A maximum of six people can fit on board the boat and the catamaran charter comes with a professional captain who is going to navigate you safely through the Caribbean waters.

Charter a private luxury catamaran in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is also known as a place where you can enjoy luxury sailing vacations on a private catamaran. Charter a luxury catamaran in Puerto Rico to enjoy your boat holiday with plenty of amazing amenities. A beautiful luxury catamaran that is not just going to charm you with its beautiful exterior, but also with its modern and luxurious interior is Catamaran Lagoon 46 . There is plenty of space on the sundeck to work on your tan!

How many people can go on a catamaran in Puerto Rico?

Depending on the size of the boat, as well as the amount of beds and bathrooms on board, catamarans can host six or more people. However, they are not necessarily meant for bigger groups of people as their cabin sizes tend to be bigger than others, making them feel more like a hotel room on water rather than a cabin on a boat.

When is the best time to sail on a catamaran in Puerto Rico?

Puerto Rico and the Caribbean are known to be blessed with tropical climates. This means that it’s warm almost all year round with temperatures averaging at around 26 degrees. However, the best time for a sailing adventure on a catamaran in Puerto Rico is between January and April. Also, keep in mind that the hurricane season in late summer is definitely not a good time to take a catamaran rental out at sea. In fact, it can be life threatening.

If you stay around the island, you don’t have to worry about rough weather - only if you want to sail out into the open ocean. Discover some of the most spectacular natural wonders the Caribbean has to offer and enjoy the fantastic weather!

How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Puerto Rico?

Puerto Rico is not the most affordable place when it comes to renting a catamaran. In fact, it will cost an average price of 29.606 EUR for a week to charter a catamaran in Puerto Rico . It is definitely an exclusive destination in the Caribbean for anyone who is willing to spend that extra money.

What kind of boat licence do I need when renting a catamaran in Puerto Rico?

One of the best things about chartering a catamaran in Puerto Rico is the fact that you don’t need a boat licence to do so. At least if you are not a resident of the island. Just ensure that you know how to operate a catamaran and that the charter gives you all the necessary and important information before you head out at sea.

If you don’t want to drive the catamaran yourself, you can always hire a skipper or captain in addition to your bareboat charter. This gives you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the view - far away from your daily struggles.

The best routes for catamarans in Puerto Rico

One of the most scenic sailing routes on a catamaran in Puerto Rico is starting at Puerto del Rey, a big marina where many sailing holidays start in Puerto Rico. Your first stop is Isla Palominos , an island filled with lush green trees and surrounded by turquoise waters. You will be sure that you have arrived in paradise. Palominos is mainly known for its stunning white sandy beaches. Your next stop is Culebra , an island that is particularly popular among snorkellers. Discover the underwater world by diving into the turquoise waters. If you’re lucky you will spot some turtles here. Tamarindo Beach on Culebra is the perfect spot to do that! Bahia del Almodovar is the next stop on your sailing adventure, a stunning bay with interesting landscapes and turquoise waters. Make sure to get up in time to watch a magical sunrise. The island of Vieques is already waiting for you. With all the plam trees and the magical colour of the water it looks like paradise. Be sure to discover the town Esperanza on the island, a town that is known for its pretty wooden houses. Get a bite to eat before heading out at sea again. La Chiva Beach, or the Blue Beach due its impressive colour, is a must see when visiting Puerto Rico on a catamaran. Sailing with a catamaran gives you the advantage of being able to sail and anchor super close to the shore, meaning that you can explore everything from up close rather than from a distance. Another beach that has a nickname related to a colour is Puntas Arenas , also known as the Green Beach . It got its nickname from its wonderful green surroundings. Once you’ve swam here it’s time to go back to Puerto del Rey to bring your sailing adventure on a catamaran in Puerto Rico to a close.

Keep up the good work.

Recently booked a snorkeling tour to Icacos and it was amazing. The prices were fair and they were able to provide transportation from Viejo San Juan for an additional cost. The crew was amazing and took care of us. They were very attentive and they kept the drinks coming. The water conditions weren’t the best for snorkeling but they did their best to find us s spot. Accessing the beach required to swim from the boat. It wasn’t ideal but made it fun. I intend to book again on my next trip to PR. Next time it’ll be Culebra. Keep up the good work. I would love to hear more reguetón and more Latin music next time.
