Die ersten Sommertermine stehen

Der Segelklub Juist (SKJ) e.V. führte am Samstag, den 03. Februar 2024, seine Jahreshauptversammlung im Hotel „Friesenhof“ durch. Einen großen Bericht dazu findet Sie/Ihr unter News.

Dabei wurden die ersten Sommertermine 2024 bekannt gegeben: Ansegeln als Tagesfahrt zur Bill am Sonntag, den 02. Juni (wenn witterungsbedingt nicht möglich, gibt es mit Sonntag, den 16. Juni, noch einen Ersatztermin, wo es auch mit der Tide passt) , Regatta am 10. August und Absegeln nach Norderney am 7.-8. September.

Zudem soll es als nächstes im März noch ein Labskaussessen im Bootshaus geben, der Termin wird noch gekannt gegeben.

Der Segelklub Juist

Alles begann mit einer handvoll Wassersportlern und einem Juister Bürgermeister, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hatten, eine Segelklub in der Inselgemeinde Juist zu etablieren. Über die Jahre entwickelte sich Dank dem Engagement und der Leidenschaft der Mitglieder eine erfolgreiche Segelgemeinschaft mit eigenem Bootshafen, Segelschule und regelmäßig stattfindenen Regattas.

Unser Bootshafen

Seit 2008 ist nun der dritte Liegeplatz in der langjährigen Geschichte des Segelklubs Juist fertiggestellt und wurde bereits in den ersten 2 Jahren nach der Inbetriebnahme im Bereich der Schwimmsteganlage auf 163 Liegeplätze erweitert. Der Hafen bietet neben modernen Anlagen auch viele Freizeitaktivitäten in der näheren Umgebung.

Juist - Guide für Yachthafen und Insel

Der Yachthafen Juist, eingebettet in die idyllische Landschaft des Wattenmeeres, wurde 2008 umfangreich saniert. Er liegt im Osten der Insel und ist durch einen Damm begrenzt. Die Hafeneinfahrt ist schmal und im westlichen Teil des Hafens können größere Yachten südlich der Mole festmachen. Der übrige westliche Teil ist der Berufsschifffahrt, der Fähre und dem Seenotrettungsboot HANS DITTMER vorbehalten. Die kurzen Entfernungen zum Stadtzentrum und zum Strand sind ein zusätzlicher Vorteil.

Tiefgang Der Hafen liegt auf weichem Schlick, fällt weitgehend trocken und ist bei Hochwasser in der Regel für Yachten mit einem Tiefgang von bis zu 1,50 m zugänglich.

Liegeplätze Der Hafen bietet 150 Liegeplätze für Yachten bis 18 Meter Länge. Die modernisierte Steganlage besteht aus Beton- und Fingerstegen, die mit Wasser- und Stromanschlüssen ausgestattet sind.

Sanitäre Anlagen Hinter dem Büro des Hafenmeisters befindet sich ein Sanitärgebäude mit einfachen, aber gepflegten Einrichtungen wie WC, Duschen und Waschbecken. Der Zugang erfolgt über einen Zahlencode, der beim Hafenmeister erhältlich ist. Waschmaschinen und Trockner stehen ebenfalls zur Verfügung.

WLAN WLAN ist im gesamten Hafengebiet verfügbar.

Tanken Auf der Insel gibt es keine Möglichkeit, Treibstoff oder Gasflaschen zu kaufen.

Hafenmeister Das Büro des Hafenmeisters befindet sich in einem gelben Container am Ausgang der Steganlage.

Einkaufen Im Lebensmittelgeschäft „Looger Koopmann“ können Lebensmittel und Getränke gekauft werden, die zum Steg geliefert werden.

Restaurant im Hafen Im Hafen selbst gibt es kein Restaurant, aber im Ortskern sind mehrere gastronomische Einrichtungen zu Fuß erreichbar.

Kosten Die Liegegebühr ist am Automaten im Sanitärgebäude zu entrichten. Die Gemeinde Juist erhebt eine Kurabgabe, die beim Hafenmeister zu entrichten ist. Sie beträgt für Übernachtungen 4,80 Euro pro Person und für Kurzaufenthalte über 3 Stunden 2,40 Euro pro Person.

Die Liegegebühren für Gastlieger inklusive Strom sind nach Bootslänge gestaffelt und liegen zwischen 6,00 Euro für Boote bis 6,80 m und 45,00 Euro für Boote ab 16,00 m. Das Auffüllen des Wassertanks mit Trinkwasser ist kostenlos, das Waschen der Boote mit Trinkwasser ist jedoch nicht gestattet.

Juist: Ein Band aus Sand und Magie

Fast 17 Kilometer erstreckt sich Juist in die Länge, nur rund 900 Meter ist die Insel breit. Damit ist Juist die längste und schmalste der Ostfriesischen Inseln. Der Beiname "Töwerland", abgeleitet vom mittelniederländischen Wort für Zauber, unterstreicht den mystischen Charakter der Insel. Nicht umsonst wird Juist auch als "längste Sandbank der Welt" bezeichnet.

Tradition trifft Moderne: Juists einzigartige Mischung

Autos sucht man auf Juist vergeblich. Stattdessen prägen Pferdekutschen das Bild der Insel. Sie übernehmen die Aufgaben von Bus, Lkw und Müllabfuhr und stellen eine nachhaltige Alternative zur modernen Mobilität dar. Doch Juist hat mehr zu bieten als eine umweltfreundliche Verkehrslösung. Die Insel ist auch ein Ort reicher Geschichte und einzigartiger Architektur. Der markante Juister Wasserturm, von den Einheimischen wegen seiner Form liebevoll "Schnapsflasche" genannt, ist ein zentrales Element der Inselinfrastruktur. Das 2008 in der Hafeneinfahrt errichtete Seezeichen in Form eines Segels bereichert das architektonische Ensemble der Insel und dient als weiteres markantes Wahrzeichen.

Went to the Hafenrestaurant Juist together with my sister and her husband last month. The location is quite unique on the island: Overseeing the small port and yacht harbor! Even though the entrance reminds one more of an industrial character and is not very inviting,... but the owners are trying to make it nice looking. Well, it looks a bit cheap, but this is not what you come here for: The restaurant itself is very cozy and indeed very busy, with many locals coming here for good and inexpensive meals. When we arrived we were quickly and friendly seated and given the menus. The beverage order was taken, but the delivery of the drinks took too long. But ok - the place was packed! For ordering the food it again took a little while, but the waiting time was worth the wile. We all had fish dishes cooked to perfection! And the best was: We had a variety of fish, which you were not able to get in any other restaurant on the island! The fish was freshly prepared and well seasoned: Well done and congratulations to the Chef! We will be back next time! More

Really great restaurant at the harbour in Juist, vast choice of dishes, excellent fish quality, fast and friendly service in a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Things could be so easy: Use the ingredients that are local (in this case, fresh fish), prepare them in ways the locals did, and have your guests enjoy. This is what the Hafenrestaurant does. And it is enough to make the place (for me) the... best restaurant on Juist. I had sole, which was seriously amazing. The place can get crowded, but the service people are friendly and keep paying attention - which is by no means always the case on this island which obviously suffers from shortages of staff. More

A nice place with a good fish selection. In the ambience, with the delicious food and the great service, a nice evening can be spent. Book early enough ;)

Amazing food, great service and you do need to book a table! I recommend the evening session from 19.30 onwards, as you can sit till they shut. If they are very busy then they have two sittings.

Hafen Juist: Erleben Sie das rege Treiben bei Ankunft und Abfahrt der Fähren.

Nachdem die Inselbahn und der weit draußen im Watt liegende Schiffsanleger in zunehmendem Maße Abnutzungserscheinungen zeigten und immer größere Instandhaltungskosten verursachten, wurde der Beschluss gefasst, einen ortsnahen Hafen anzulegen.  Hier sind einige historische Fakten zum Hafen Juist für Sie:

• 1980 begannen die ersten Bauarbeiten.
• 1982 machte die alte Inselbahn ihre letzte Fahrt, danach baute man den alten Schiffsanleger im Watt ab.
• 1984, nachdem auch das Hafenbetriebsgebäude fertig war, konnte das neue Bauwerk seiner Bestimmung übergeben werden.
• Im angrenzenden Gelände entstanden in der Folgezeit eine Müllentsorgungsanlage sowie ein zentrales Lagergebäude für verschiedene Juister Unternehmer.
• Von 2007 bis 2008 erweiterte man den Hafen durch den Bau der östlichen Mole (Seebrücke) zum heutigen Sportboot-Liegeplatz.

Hier können Sie das rege Treiben bei Ankunft und Abfahrt der Fähren beobachten und hier finden Sie auch das Hafenbetriebsgebäude. Eine Abstecher zum Hafen macht also nicht nur Sinn, wenn Sie ankommen oder wieder abfahren.

Gehen Sie einfach die Bahnhofstraße Richtung Süden bis zum Ende. Dann sind Sie am Hafen.

Öffnungszeiten

Der Hafen ist natürlich für Sie jederzeit offen. Das rege Treiben am Hafen können Sie aber nur zur Ankunft und Abfahrt der Fähren erleben.

Barrierefreiheit

Gehen Sie einfach die Bahnhofstraße Richtung Süden bis zum Ende. Dann sind Sie am Hafen. Der Hafen ist problemlos mit dem Rollstuhl zu erreichen.

• Der Zugang zum Terminal erfolgt stufenlos. 
• Alle für den Gast nutzbaren Räume sind stufenlos zugänglich.
• Türen und Durchgänge sind mindestens 90 cm breit.
• Der Fahrkartenschalter ist 110 cm hoch. 
• Im Terminal gibt es Sitzgelegenheiten.
• Die Steigung des Stegs zur Fähre variiert in Abhängigkeit vom Wasserstand (Rampe vorhanden).

WC für Menschen mit Behinderung

• Die Bewegungsflächen betragen: vor/hinter der Tür, vor dem Waschbecken mindestens 80 cm x 200 cm; vor dem WC 35 cm x 150 cm; links neben dem WC 64 x 75 cm und rechts ist keine Bewegungsfläche vorhanden.
• Es sind keine Haltegriffe vorhanden. 
• Das Waschbecken ist unterfahrbar und der Spiegel im Stehen und Sitzen einsehbar.

Special features of Juist

Juist is located between Borkum and Norderney and is with 17 km the longest East Frisian island with partly only 500 m width. The state-approved climatic health resort is divided into the western village and eastern village and the western district of Loog.

Juist is car-free and can be explored on foot, by bicycle, with a handcart or by horse-drawn carriage.

Travel options

You can reach the island either by ferry of AG Reederei Norden-Frisia from Norddeich-Mole or by plane from Norddeich airport. The Crossing by ship is tide dependent and a maximum of twice a day with a travel time of approx.

90 minutes possible. The journey by plane, on the other hand, takes only seven minutes.

Sights of the North Sea island Juist

The Landmark of Juist is the water tower built in 1927/1928 in the center of the village, which can not be overlooked from the harbor. The tower can not be climbed, but since it stands on the highest dune on the island, great panoramic views over the village, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea can be enjoyed from here.

Another striking structure is the historical spa house Juist , which was opened in 1898 as a prestigious beach hotel and whose facade is now a protected monument.

The newly designed spa square in the center regularly hosts open-air concerts in the summer. The beautiful green area with flower beds is very popular with children and parents mainly because of the boat pond.

At Coastal museum in the district of Loog interesting exhibitions about the island and spa history, coastal protection, settlement history, fauna and flora can be visited.

For vacationers interested in art, the "Siebje" house on Janusplatz in the center of town offers craft exhibitions and vernissages by local artists. The small, lovingly restored Juist island house from 1811 now houses the local history society.

Unique nature experiences on Juist

The Hammersee in the west of Juist as the largest freshwater lake on the East Frisian Islands, is a natural history sight and an impressive biotope.

 Juist was divided in two at this point during a severe storm surge in 1651 and could not be reconnected until 1932. The viewing platform "Dree Water Utkiek" at the beach entrance Loog offers beautiful views of the Hammersee, the North Sea and the Wadden Sea.

A little further away, at the western end of the island, is the popular Excursion destination of the "Bill Domain . At the other end of the North Sea island is the Kalfamer, which is a large bird sanctuary with extensive sandy areas and ever-emerging dunes. The area may only be entered outside the breeding season from the beginning of November to the end of March on a marked path.
