Off the Hook Yachts Acquires 300-Slip Marina in Georgetown Maryland  

The Acquisition 

Off the Hook Yachts is proud to announce the acquisition of Georgetown Yacht Basin (GYB) now rebranding under Georgetown Yacht Haven – a 300-boat slip full-service marina located on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, MD.  Off the Hook plans to restore the yacht basin to its former glory and reconnect with the local community in order to establish it as a household name in the area. 

As our founder is originally from Maryland, this will complement our current presence in the area, along with our MD sales team, which currently operates out of Bay Bridge Marina. The acquisition of the marina will allow us to expand on sales, service, and custom-built Nor-Tech Performance Boat sales in the region. Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds that can hold up to a 110-foot yacht, a 110-ton travel lift, a fuel dock, a swimming pool, bathhouses, and a complete ship store, along with many other amenities. GYH controls the largest travel lift in Northern Chesapeake Bay.

About Off the Hook Yacht Sales

Off The Hook Yacht Sales NC, LLC, based in Wilmington, North Carolina, was founded in 2012 by Jason Ruegg and has now become the largest marine wholesaler in North America. The company provides wholesale purchasing services for brokerages, new boat dealers, and private individuals, and has become a household name at the largest brokerages and dealerships in the Country. Off the Hook Yachts headquarters is in Wilmington, North Carolina, where it remains today. We have 12 other locations currently in the USA, with expansion plans for 2023. Additionally, OTH is proud to represent Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats from Georgia to Maine and Yellowfin Boats from Miami to the Florida Keys.  

About Georgetown Yacht Haven 

Georgetown Yacht Haven was originally constructed in 1949. Georgetown Yacht Haven, Inc. offers covered and open slips ranging from 25 to 90 feet, with tee-head space available for larger yachts. Moorings are also available with an included pennant and launch service. We provide group rates for cruising clubs. Transients are always welcome. We offer both fixed and floating docks on a yearly, monthly, weekly, or daily basis. Slips include ample electricity, water, and use of heads/showers, a swimming pool, and spacious picnic areas with gas grills. Georgetown Yacht Haven, Inc.'s pet walk area assures your best friend is also welcome.

2019 rates: $1.50/foot includes electric. Mooring $0.85/ft/night

This marina requires a credit card to hold your slip. Your credit card will only be charged if you leave the marina without paying.If you do not call and cancel your reservation within 24 hours of your arrival you will be charged for one nights dockage.Valid reasons for canceling a reservation less than 24 hours of your arrival are at the discretion of the marina.

We stayed a few times this past summer to really check it out. The improvements the new owners are doing are stunning, great pool overlooking the sass, lush grounds and the new docks are built really well, I believe they are replacing everything. I've heard they are bringing in higher end amenities and breathing new life into this forgotten yacht haven. Its one of the most beautiful properties to keep your boat at and I have no doubt there will be a waiting list in a few years to come. I dont mind the growing pains. The service yard is top notch. (they do it all) Check it out, its a special place.

still no water or bathrooms June 3. they did find so more older dirtier carts. the good dock carts are being used by marina employees and locked up at night.

New ownership worse than previous owner. marina is not ready for Memorial Day weekend : no water to docks, no bathrooms/showers no usable dock carts. the dock carts are so dirty and greasy they cannot be used, these were used by the mechanics under previous owner.

Georgetown Yacht Charter

Georgetown is the Capital of Great Exuma, the largest island in the Exumas, Bahamas.  The possibilities are endless, we can recommend a plan or just go with the flow. We are on island time so whatever you are feeling each day, we can delight and suprise. With many possibilities for snorkling, hiking, swimming, dining, and more, the world is your oyster. We can act as your guide or, just let you relax and explore as you wish. 

Depending on your arrival times, we can let you check in as early as 10am so we can head out early and visit an island on your first evening. Or, we can do check-in/orientation later in the day and let you enjoy the local flavor of Georgetown for the evening and head out the next day.
