One of the most popular areas to explore at the Walt Disney World Resort is Crescent Lake, which is located just steps from EPCOT and a short walk from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Also found on the shores of Crescent Lake are the wonderful Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts which each feature their own unique themes that complement each other.

Resort Information: Yacht and Beach Club – Dining

This is a continuation of a new series taking a comprehensive look at all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. There will be several posts on each resort looking at pools, dining, shopping, and other amenities.

General Information

As expected from Walt Disney World deluxe resorts, the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts have numerous dining options. With several table service restaurants as well as a few places to have a quick bite and even a drink, there is plenty of choice available at these resorts.

Quick Service

The only quick service establishment is the Beach Club Marketplace. Located on the first floor near the lobby, the Marketplace also serves as the primary shop for the Beach Club Resort. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served from the small counter in corner of the space ( Beach Club Marketplace menus ) and the food is classic, but good quality. Limited seating is available in the hallway adjacent to the Marketplace with quite a bit more in the covered walkway leading from the Marketplace’s hallway to the Beach Club Villas.

Table Service

The primary table service restaurant at the Beach Club Resort is Cape May Cafe, which is open for breakfast and dinner. The restaurant can be found just off of the lobby. Breakfast is a buffet of classic fare that is also a character meal with Goofy, Donald Duck, and Minnie Mouse normally in attendance. Dinner is also a buffet, although the evening meal is mostly seafood. ( Cape May Cafe menus ) Like much of the Beach Club, Cape May Cafe is decorated in a light, airy, beachy motif with light wood and glass-enclosed sandcastles.

The Yacht Club has two table service restaurants; Captain’s Grille and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Captain’s Grille is the Yacht Club equivalent of Cape May Cafe. It is also located just off of the lobby and it is decorated very similarly, albeit with darker wood and glass enclosed boats to focus on the nautical themes. The food at Captain’s Grille is similar to Cape May for breakfast and reasonably standard New England fare for lunch and dinner. ( Captain’s Grille menus )

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a high-end steakhouse with a price to match the quality. It is located in the corridor between the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts on the Yacht Club side and is only open for dinner. Yachtsman Steakhouse was undergoing a refurbishment at the time of research, but has since been reopened. ( Yachtsman Steakhouse menu )

Bars/Lounges

If a bar or lounge is what you are looking for, there are a few options at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. At the Beach Club, in the corridor leading towards Yacht Club, you will find Martha’s Vineyard. This lounge is bright and full of pastel colors with a few televisions on the wall. It is fairly non-descript, but serves a range of alcoholic beverages as well as appetizers and light fare.

At the Yacht Club there are two options for lounges. One is located in the resort lobby; Ale and Compass, and is a small open seating area with an equally small counter. Ale and Compass serves a limited menu of snacks and alcoholic beverages. This is also a good spot to get specialty coffee drinks in the morning.

The larger lounge at the Yacht Club is the Crew’s Cup, which is adjacent to Yachtsman Steakhouse. Decorated in all dark wood with a crew boat suspended from the ceiling, Crew’s Cup is a pretty and interesting place to find light food, snacks, and alcholic drinks.

Beaches and Cream is special, which is why it has been placed in its own category. It is located on an exterior cooridor almost directly between the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, directly adjacent to the center pool entrance. Beaches and Cream serves ice cream treats as well as heartier fare. There is an indoor seating area where you can get desserts and casual food such as burgers and fries. If ice cream is all that interests you, there is also a to go counter. ( Beaches and Cream To Go Menu ) ( Beaches and Cream full menus )

Beaches and Cream is decorated to look like a soda shop from a bygone era and is generally very popular. Unlike most Walt Disney World restaurants, Beaches and Cream does not accept Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs), rather it is first come, first served. Avoiding peak dining times is recommended.

Beach Club Marketplace Review (The Quick Service Restaurant at Disney’s Beach Club)

Beach Club Marketplace is the primary quick-service dining location at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. If you plan to stay at the resort, you will likely rely on this location for several meals or, at the very least, a few snacks. Below, we’ll review our experience along with a preview of the menu and photos of the available grab-and-go items.

During our latest stay, we visited the Beach Club Marketplace several times. But besides grabbing a bite for breakfast one morning, we mainly stopped for snacks and drinks. We found the menu items limited, especially considering this hotel often commands a $500.00 or more per night price tag.

Unfortunately, this is nothing new. For years, our major complaint about all the resorts in the Crescent Lake area is the lack of quick-service dining options. No one wants to enjoy every meal of a seven-day vacation at a table service restaurant. Some days, you want to grab a quick dinner and return it to the room. Or you might like to enjoy breakfast in a casual setting with enough options for everyone.

This article was updated on November 29, 2023.

interior of Disney's Beach Club Marketplace

Beach Club Marketplace is a few steps from the resort’s lobby. It has two entrances. The resort’s gift shop is part of the Marketplace , while the other half is a quick service with various grocery items.

Because of the nature of the combined gift shop and restaurant, Beach Club Marketplace does not have a formal dining area. However, double doors across from the main entrance lead to a covered dining area. This is an excellent place to dine if the weather is pleasant.

You’ll find a variety of tables and chairs that look out to the resort’s green lawn and Beach Club Villas.

Inside, several tables with chairs are available in the Beach Club’s Solarium. The Solarium is also within a few feet of the restaurant’s entrance, so it won’t be difficult to find.

Outside of Beach Club Marketplace, a sign lists breakfast menu items and kids’ meals. A microwave is available on a table to the side should you need one during your stay.

Here is the lunch menu that was posted during our stay.

menu for Disney's Beach Club Marketplace

Unfortunately, the lunch and dinner items haven’t changed (other than the price) since we originally wrote this article a few years back. It’s a pretty hodge-podge menu with random items.

Freshly prepared offerings include:

  • Pulled Pork Sandwich
  • Foot-long All-Beef Hot Dog
  • Baked Macaroni and Cheese
  • Pork-topped Baked Macaroni and Cheese
  • Roasted Half Chicken Dinner (only available after 5:00 p.m.)
  • Garden Salad
  • Seasonal Soup
  • Clam Chowder

*Premade sandwiches and other items are available in the display case.

  • Roast Beef Sandwich
  • Caprese Sandwich
  • Turkey and Swiss Sandwich
  • Spicy Italian Sandwich
  • Ham and Swiss Sandwich

*These items are listed in the My Disney Experience app under “entrees.” But it’s important to note that they are not freshly prepared.

Formerly, Disney’s Beach Club had a freshly prepared roast beef sandwich served hot with Disney’s house-made potato chips. Unfortunately, if you order a sandwich now, you’ll receive a premade sandwich outsourced from another location.

Kids’ meals include:

  • Turkey Sandwich
  • PB&J Uncrustable
  • All-Beef Hot Dog

Breakfast menu items:

  • Steak and Egg Breakfast Sandwich
  • Bounty Platter
  • Breakfast Sandwich
  • Mickey-shaped Waffles
  • Plant-based Mickey-shaped Waffles

Kids’ Meals:

  • Scrambled Egg Sandwich
  • Mickey Waffle

Side items include scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. Kids’ meals come with a choice of side and a small Dasani water or a choice of small lowfat milk or juice. Substitutions include fountain drinks. You can view the entire Beach Club Marketplace menu on Disney’s site . Options for Disney Dining Plans are noted on the menu.

Drink refill station inside Disney's Beach Club Marketplace

You’ll find a beverage refill station on the far side of Beach Club Marketplace. Drinks include Coca-Cola products like Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Minute Maid Zero Sugar, Powerade, Fanta, Acai-Blueberry Vitamin Water, Cherry Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and Barg’s Root Beer.

Beverage selection at the refill station at Beach Club Marketplace

Gold Peak Tea is also available.

You’ll also find creamer and a specialty coffee machine.

Speaking of specialty coffee, I was surprised to find this coffee machine. We recently had access to one at the Chronos Club at Gran Destino Tower . Make sure to select whether you want decaf or regular. You can purchase a cup for this machine at the register, and you’ll have a cappuccino in less than a minute.

A toaster oven, condiments, and a selection of tea bags are also available in this area.

Here, we have wine and various flavored popcorn.

Lastly, we’ll look at the refrigerated case in the middle of the store. This is where all the premade sandwiches are located.

Prepackaged items in a cooler that sits in the middle of Beach Club Marketplace.

As someone who spends considerable time in hotels, I’m appalled at the lack of freshly prepared items at Disney’s Beach Club (and surrounding resorts). This is my favorite hotel. But when we stay here, I often rely on ordering to-go items from Ale and Compass.

close up of individual pre-packaged sandwiches

Years ago, I picked up a premade item at the Yacht Club’s quick service and got sick with food poisoning. It’s the only time I’ve ever had food poisoning. But the experience was bad enough that I wouldn’t consider eating anything like this that was prepared elsewhere.

Here are a few of the premade salad selections.

Overall, Disney’s Beach Club Marketplace has a decent selection of items. However, the actual entrees for lunch and dinner are seriously lacking. A few years ago, I knew I could get a freshly prepared sandwich (served warm) to take back to the room after a long day in the parks. Now–not so much, and the Yacht Club’s counter service next door isn’t any better.

So, if you’re planning a stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort , remember these things. If you have the extra time, we love to take the Skyliner to Disney’s Riviera and have a meal at Primo Piatto , the resort’s quick service. Or you might pick up something at Disney Springs, like D-Luxe Burger , and bring it back to your room.

What are your thoughts on the Beach Club Marketplace? Do you think that this kind of location should have more offerings? Or do you rarely eat at the resort during your vacation?

How to Choose Between Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts

by Stephanie Shuster | May 7, 2020 | Walt Disney World Resorts , WDW Blog

Stormalong Bay

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are unique at Walt Disney World—while most hotels stand on their own, these two sister resorts are more like twins—side by side with lots of shared features and a few distinct personality traits all their own.

You can use the amenities of BOTH resorts if you stay at either one , which makes these properties a great value since you have more to enjoy!

It also lets you escape for date night or to a pool party just for a few hours if you want a taste of something new.

But if you’re going to stay here, how do you choose between the #YachtSide or the #Beachside (okay, that’s not quite as catchy as Light Side/Dark Side, but let’s toll with it young padawans… I mean, sailors!).

Captain Hook's Pirate Crew Beach Club

Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew location. Photo by Danny Shuster.

Who’s going with you?

If you’re traveling adults only, consider the Yacht Club —it’s quieter, more romantic, and has a conference facility with added business amenities.

If you’re visiting for work, on a trip with your spouse, traveling solo or in an adult group, this is a great choice.

Families will probably prefer the Beach Club —it’s got more easy/casual dining options, extra amenities for kids, and if you’re a DVC member this is where you’ll want to stay to use those points!

Adults may prefer this side too, based on personal taste, DVC status, and whether you’re planning to walk to and from the Epcot festivals on your trip.

Where are you eating?

Dining options are quite different at the resorts.

Over at the Yacht Club, imagine fancy steak dinners, a sleek gastropub, and a dark bar that makes you feel like you’re in the hull of a ship. There’s also a simple grab-and-go option here, but if service is what you’re looking for you’ll have some of the best.

ale and compass lounge

Beaches and Cream decor Beach Club

Over at Beach Club, you’ll find quick service spots at Beach Club Market Place and Hurricane Hannah’s, an ice cream window and full 50s diner experience at Beaches and Cream (including GIANT sundaes!) , and a casual buffet that serves seafood (and more) in the evening and hosts a character breakfast in the morning.

What’s your pool plan?

The main pool complex is shared between the two resorts, but it’s vast and your room location could put you much closer (or further) from the poolside you seek.

Stormalong Bay cabanas

Stormalong Bay cabanas. Photo by Danny Shuster.

Cabana rentals are available at Yacht Club for the most serene experience, plus the marina is steps away if you prefer sailing on Crescent Lake to floating in a pool.

Beach Club offers more energy with a lazy river, pool games, and a pirate ship waterslide that exists into a beach front pool.  Plus as the sun goes down, it’s closer to the beach front campfire—roasted marshmallows after an afternoon at the pool, anyone?

What it boils down to:

Are you looking for a quiet, refine seaside escape with adults in mind, or an easygoing getaway to the beach?

This chart will help you compare the amenities at each resort— but remember, you can use any of them even when you’re staying at the other property!

yacht and beach comparison chart

So, which is right for you? Disney’s Yacht Club Resort with its sophisticated atmosphere and gourmet dining options, or Disney’s Beach Club Resort with its relaxed family vibe and pool fun proximity?

Truth be told, they’re both lovely properties, and it’s easy enough to stay at one while enjoying the amenities the other offers only steps away from your room.

Thanks to Disney for hosting us on a 3-night Resort Showcase where we got to tour and experience many of Walt Disney World’s resorts and restaurants, including Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Ale & Compass Restaurant. #wdwresorts #deliciousdisney

Review: The New Market Quick Service at the Yacht Club

By Dave Shute

THE MARKET AT DISNEY’S YACHT CLUB RESORT

yacht and beach quick service

A new quick service venue opened at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in mid-May. I checked it out then, and then again in my June visit.

yacht and beach quick service

Part of a renovation (not yet complete) of the Yacht Club’s gift shop area, the new venue provides shelf stable snacks and breakfast goods, frozen treats, fruit, pastries, drinks, a coffee bar, cold packaged food, an eating area, and hot food. All are successful except the hot food, which is quite limited.

yacht and beach quick service

Traditionally the biggest weakness of Disney World’s Epcot resorts  has been their quick-service offerings. There’s a bit at the back of the Beach Club gift shop , more at the Stormalong Bay pool bar and grill, Hurricane Hanna’s , and a bit more at the Bakery along the Boardwalk. (Links are all to overviews on Disney’s site.)

The opening of the new Yacht Club venue, the Market, adds one more minor option among a bunch of other minor options. It’s better than nothing, but still quite limited.

yacht and beach quick service

On one side as you enter is the coffee bar and the area where hot food is prepared heated.

yacht and beach quick service

The coffee bar—Joffrey’s coffee—has the full range of coffee options.

yacht and beach quick service

Beyond the coffee and grill space is a seating area.

yacht and beach quick service

Deeper in the Market is a mix of shelf stable snacks, fruit, pastries, and breakfast items. Other than maybe the fruit, this is comparable to what you’ll find in many resort gift shops, but better merchandised.

yacht and beach quick service

Along a wall are freestyle refillable mug machines…

…and coffee, hot chocolate, tea, a toaster, and such.

yacht and beach quick service

Around the corner is a microwave and frozen treats.

yacht and beach quick service

On the opposite wall is the cold case and hot case.

yacht and beach quick service

A closer view of the cold case, with drinks on the left and sandwiches, salads and such on the right.

yacht and beach quick service

The hot case has a small selection of ready-to-eat cooked food.

yacht and beach quick service

This feta and spinach pastry came from it—it was delicious.

yacht and beach quick service

The same hot food can also heated to order behind the counter. The limited hot food menu is above.

yacht and beach quick service

My Ham and Cheddar Sandwich came from behind the counter looking like this.

yacht and beach quick service

Here it is out of its wrapping. This is likely a good choice for kids, as there is no particular taste for them to object to. I mixed hot sauce and mayonnaise together into a sort of gesture towards horseradish. With that it was fine.

The limited set of hot food means that, other than the drinks, there’s not much here beyond what you might find in a Disney World gift shop anyway. As an addition it is welcome, but it does little to make up for the general lack of quick service offerings in the Epcot resorts.

Note that Josh has a longer and more detailed review of the offerings at The Market here .

Jeff, definitely not worth a special trip!

The Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips

February 8, 2021 //  by  Kimberly Jones //   2 Comments

Disney’s Yacht Club opened back on November 5, 1990. Its sister location is the Beach Club located right next to it. The Yacht Club is a beautifully themed resort with nautical and beach themes. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about this wonderful resort in our Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips!

There are so many great aspects to this resort such as its location, pools, transportation options, and amenities. If you are thinking about staying at the Yacht Club, read on to find out if this resort is a good fit for you!

woman sits on the sand area at Stormalong Bay

Where Is The Yacht Club At Disney Located?

One of the best reasons to stay at Disney’s Yacht Club is the fantastic location! This resort is within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios . There are also several different transportation options to all of the parks, Disney Springs , and the water parks .

The Yacht Club is directly next to the Beach Club, and they share the pool. Now you not only have access to all of the Yacht Club’s restaurants and amenities, but you also have access to the Beach Club’s!

The Yacht and Beach Club are right across the water from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort . It is a short walk away to enjoy everything the Boardwalk has to offer! There are some fun restaurants, bars, and shops to explore there.

The Yacht Club is also very close to the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. There is a pathway to take you right over to these hotels for some extra fun as well!

Not only are there other resorts within walking distance of the Yacht Club, but there are also resorts that are a quick Skyliner trip away! Taking the Skyliner from Epcot’s International Gateway, you can visit Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century , and Art of Animation!

Disney’s Yacht Club is in a very prime location with quick access to two of the parks and multiple resorts!

view of the back entrance to the Yacht Club Resort

Checking in to The Yacht Club At Disney

Checking into the Yacht Club is extremely easy, and it doesn’t even require you to visit the front desk! The day of your reservation, you can check in to the resort from the My Disney Experience app . The app will let you know when your room is ready and what your room number will be! If you have magic bands or even your phone , you can head straight to your room and unlock the door.

Of course, you can always go the old school route and check-in at the front desk. All the cast members at Disney’s Yacht Club are extremely friendly and accommodating! A great tip to keep in mind is you can always see if there are any upgrades available for your room. We were able to get a free upgrade from a standard view to a water view!

The lobby is also absolutely amazing here. It has a very adventurous and nautical theme to it. You can find everything you need right in this area, such as the restaurant, lounge, bell services, and the front desk.

Right outside the backside of the lobby, there is a boardwalk that will lead you to the boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

view of the lobby at Yacht Club Resort

Transportation Options From The Yacht Club

We love all of the transportation options the Yacht Club has to offer, and we’re sure you will too! As mentioned before, there are walking paths to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Epcot walking path is very short and will get you to the International Gateway in about 5 – 10 minutes. The entrance at International Gateway is on the back side of Epcot by World Showcase .

The walking path to Hollywood Studios is a little bit longer than the Epcot one. This one can take 20 minutes or more. However, there is boat transportation to Hollywood Studios if you don’t want to walk! You can find boat transportation right behind the lobby that will take you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

If you don’t want to walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios, you can always take the Skyliner! There is a Skyliner location right outside International Gateway that will take you first to Disney’s Riviera Resort, and then to the Skyliner central hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. From here you will get off the Skyliner and get in line for a different Skyliner track to take you to Hollywood Studios.

So there are so many options to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but what about the other parks? Disney has bus transportation from the Yacht Club to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, and the water parks.

If you plan on spending a lot of time at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, the Yacht Club is one of the best resorts to stay at.

There are several different room options at the Yacht Club. There is Standard View, Water View, Garden or Woods View, and 2 Bedroom Suites. All of the view rooms also have club level options.

I was able to stay in a Water View room. The room was absolutely delightful! It had a nautical theme to match the rest of the resort, and it was quite spacious. The room had two queen beds and a pull out couch, so it was able to sleep up to 5 guests. We only had 4 guests in our room, but I could imagine the pull out bed might make the room feel a little more cramped.

The room had large closets with space to hang clothes, and a big sink and bathroom area with two sinks. The shower had a sliding glass door, which I prefer over a curtain.

I really liked that this room had wood flooring compared to carpet. It added to the nautical theme very well. The room also had a balcony that looked over the back entrance of the lobby and the water. Overall, the room was very nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed its set up!

Yacht Club rooms average in price anywhere between $400 to over $3000 per night depending on what room you stay in and what time of the year you visit.

Dining Options At The Yacht Club

There are some really great and delicious dining options at the Yacht Club. This resort has two restaurants, two lounges, a quick service restaurant, a restaurant located in between the Yacht and Beach Club, and a pool bar.

The two restaurants at the Yacht Club are Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman Steakhouse is currently temporarily unavailable, but Ale & Compass is open for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant follows the nautical theme with a relaxing atmosphere and some delicious coastal eats.

The Ale & Compass Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant. Here, you can order off the lounge menu and even the restaurant menu. This lounge can fill up quickly at night though, so make sure to grab a seat early if you want to eat or drink here.

The other lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge,  is right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse and is also temporarily unavailable. We hope that the lounge and restaurant will open soon!

The quick service location shares a spot with the Yacht Club’s gift shop. When you enter the Market at Ale & Compass, on the right is the gift shop and on the left is the quick service restaurant. They serve coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and more. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat to or from the parks!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the hidden gem of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! This restaurant is located in between the two resorts and serves some wonderful food! They are open for lunch and dinner and they serve sandwiches and burgers. My favorite is their Grilled Cheese sandwich, its delicious!

However, save room for the best part of this restaurant. The ice cream! They have shakes, floats, and sundaes! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. If you’re feeling really brave though, try the Kitchen Sink sundae. This sundae is meant for 4 or more people, and includes every topping and a whole can of whipped cream! I have attempted it twice, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe you can!

Hurricane Hanna’s Grill is the pool bar located right next to Stormalong Bay. They have a few food items and some refreshing drinks.

If you’ve tried everything at the Yacht Club and want something different, head over to the Beach Club! Here you can find even more restaurants and tasty eats!

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort

Yacht Club Swimming Pools

The Yacht and Beach Club have hands down the best swimming pools on Disney World property. It’s considered more of a small water park than swimming pools because it’s so large!

Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of refreshing fun! It includes a large sand bottomed pool and a lazy river. There are waterfalls, a volleyball net in the pool, and a water slide.

This water slide is no joke. You climb a large shipwrecked ship all the way to the top and then slide down this long and exciting slide! Stormalong Bay even has a “beach” area with sand to play with! After all that fun, go relax in one of 3 whirlpool spas.

Right by the entrance to the water slide is a small kid play area with a mini water slide. This is a great introduction to the big slide for nervous kids!

Don’t need all the excitement of Stormalong Bay? There are also 3 leisure pools at the Yacht and Beach Club for guests to enjoy.

If you plan on staying at the Yacht Club, you must plan a resort day into your schedule! Make some time for this awesome mini water park and relax away from the parks! You won’t regret it.

Amenities At The Yacht Club Resort

There are so many fun amenities and things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club. When it comes to activities, there are fishing excursions, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, jogging trails, motorized boat rentals, an arcade, and a fitness center. Just ask the front desk if you’d like to book a fishing excursion or rent a boat to go out on the water!

The Yacht Club even has a spa! Ship Shape Massage Salon is a full service spa that can do massages, facials, hairstyling, and nails. We all need a relaxing day every once and awhile! Why not enjoy the spa on your day off from the parks?

The resort also has campfire activities, movies under the stars, and a Pirate Adventure Cruise (which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable at the moment). The Yacht Club is within walking distance of the Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf. Go show off your mini golf skills at this adorably themed course!

This resort really has a lot of fun things for you and your family to enjoy! You will definitely want to take a day away from the parks to enjoy this amazing resort!

Overall Thoughts On Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

We at Disney Trippers absolutely love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It has the perfect mix of being family friendly and adult friendly with lots of things to do. So whether you’re traveling with a bunch of adults or your kids, everyone will enjoy it!

Most everything is in super close distance to this resort. The only time you will have to take the bus is to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, or the water parks. The other parks and some resorts are really easy to get to, making this a top notch location for a resort.

If you have a day off from the parks, make sure to enjoy all of the amenities the Yacht Club has to offer. You could spend a whole day just having fun at the resort! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this place!

We stayed at the Disney Yacht Club the last time we were at DW. We loved it. The staff was outstanding. It was an adult family vacation, and due to different work schedules, some family members had to fly in at different times. The staff accommodated each one and made them feel as if they already knew them. We loved the location as we could walk to different locations. We tried the Kitchen Sink sundae, but couldn’t finish it. We sure had fun trying. We actually took one day to enjoy the resort and were not disappointed. We spent time in the swimming pool, which was amazing with the sand bottom. Lunch was an delicious lobster roll and we finished off at the steakhouse. I would certainly recommend this resort to all who are considering a trip to Disney World.

The Complete Guide to Eating at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

By Leigh Caldwell 2 Comments

There are LOTS of Disney resorts , and it can be hard to choose which one to stay at.

yacht and beach quick service

Disney’s Yacht Club

If you’re a big Disney food fan (like we are!), the restaurants at each resort may influence your decision. Allow us to make that decision easier for you! Let’s head over to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts for The Complete Guide to Eating at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts!

There are 10 places you can eat at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Let’s take a look at the tried-and-true favorites at each location!

Ale & Compass Restaurant

Ale & Compass is known for its New England-inspired comfort food. It is part of a larger complex that includes the Ale & Compass Lounge and a small market. If you’re a fan of sweet breakfasts, don’t miss the Dark Chocolate Waffle, which is served with Cherry Compote and Espresso-Mascarpone Cream.

yacht and beach quick service

So much yum!

At dinner, the New England Seafood Pot Pie (with shrimp, scallops, crab and vegetables in a flaky crust) is a favorite. You’ll also find classics like steak, roast chicken, and burgers on the menu.

Ale & Compass Lounge

The Ale & Compass Lounge just off the Disney’s Yacht Club Resort lobby is a great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. It was remodeled a few years ago, and the look now is modern and sleek, with nautical touches.

yacht and beach quick service

It just seems right to drink a Dark & Stormy or a Regal Manhattan in this classy space. Food is served here from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly, and while it is labeled as appetizers, you can get a burger or a flatbread that is definitely large enough to serve as dinner.

Click Here for Our Latest Review of Ale & Compass Lounge

The market at ale & compass.

This quick-service location has a focus on grab-and-go items such as cold sandwiches, fruit cups, and salads. But there is a coffee bar, and there are hot items available here, as well.

yacht and beach quick service

Chilled Options

Best bets here include the Ham and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich served on a Pretzel Roll , or the Cuban Sandwich for lunch or dinner. The Market is also a great place to find special, themed cupcakes and other treats around the holidays.

Click Here for Our Review of a Seasonal Cupcake from the Market at Ale & Compass

Cape may cafe.

Cape May Cafe is home to a popular character breakfast — the Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast. You can usually find Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy here — and they are all dressed up in adorable beach wear! The buffet is pretty standard breakfast fare, with the Salted Caramel “Beach Buns” as a highlight.

yacht and beach quick service

Minnie is ready for a day at the beach!

At dinner, the Cape May dinner buffet features New England seafood favorites, including Clam Chowder, snow crab legs, and fried seafood. Do not miss the Oreo Bonbons among the dessert selection here. They are a cookies-and-cream mousse-filled bonbon on top of an Oreo cookie, and they are a perennial DFB favorite!

Beaches and cream.

There’s one place to go when you want large and over-the-top ice cream treats, and that’s Beaches & Cream ! We particularly love the No Way Jose Sundae and Kitchen Sink offerings.

yacht and beach quick service

Kitchen Sink Sundae

We suggest grabbing the Kitchen Sink only if you’re with a group because it’s a LOT of ice cream to finish! This giant treat includes a scoop of every ice cream on their menu, along with every single one of their toppings , so it really is a challenge! While you do need a reservation to dine inside the restaurant , the to-go window offers ice cream to take with you to your final destination. You can also grab a burger and fries here for lunch or dinner!

Learn more about Beaches & Cream here!

Beach club marketplace.

Like The Market at Ale & Compass, Beach Club Marketplace is a quick service location where you will find both hot food and grab-and-go options. The Steak and Egg Breakfast Sandwich with Swiss Cheese and Garlic-Peppercorn Ranch Dressing is a specialty in the mornings.

yacht and beach quick service

Rainbow Mickey Caramel Cheesecake

This is another good place to look for fun seasonal treats, like this Rainbow Mickey Caramel Cheesecake we found there for Pride Month. If you’re looking for an inexpensive dinner option, the Half-Roasted Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cornbread is big enough to split and less than $15.

Check Out These BEAUTIFUL Cupcakes We Found at Beach Club Marketplace!

Martha’s vineyard lounge.

We suggest the wings and mussels at Martha’s Vineyard . And if you’re a fan of out-of-this-world drinks, this is a place you will want to check out. The space is designed to be reminiscent of a New England beach house, but we will say that the theming here isn’t great compared to other lounges on the property.

yacht and beach quick service

It’s a Candy Cane Mimosa!

We’ve seen candy cane mimosas and jelly bean cocktails at this location before , so Martha’s Vineyard may be a fun place to check out.

Are These Drinks at Martha’s Vineyard a Little TOO crazy? You Tell Us!

Hurricane hanna’s .

Hurricane Hanna’s is the pool bar for the Yacht and Beach Club’s Stormalong Bay pool. You should know that you cannot swim in the pool unless you are a guest of the Yacht Club or Beach Club, but anyone can enjoy a drink or a snack at Hurricane Hanna’s.

yacht and beach quick service

Storm Chaser and Souvenir Cup

The food here will not be the best thing you eat on the trip, but it is decent for a day enjoying the sunshine. Kids’ meals are served in a plastic sand bucket with attached shovel, which is a fun treat that can then be put-to-use playing in the sand! We DO love a good blue drink, and the Storm Chaser — made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bacardi Superior Rum, Blue Curaçao and Sweet-and Sour topped with Sprite — is a fun reason to spend some time watching the action in the pool here.

Click Here for Our Review of the Stormchaser!

Yachtsman steakhouse.

We highly recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse as the place you can find some of the best steaks on Disney World property. You will get a traditional steakhouse experience here — one that caters to nearly all tastes.

yacht and beach quick service

Filet Mignon at Yachtsman Steakhouse

We definitely recommend ordering the Cognac-Truffle Butter for your steak, and the Truffle Mac and Cheese is a side dish that would please just about anyone. We find the size of the side dishes to be big enough for two — so keep that in mind when ordering here!

Click Here for a Recent Review of Yachtsman Steakhouse!

Crew’s Cup Lounge

The Crew’s Cup Lounge is right next door to Yachtsman Steakhouse. We love the cozy vibes here! While you won’t find a lot of specialty drinks, the Crew’s Cup Lounge is a good place for beer or a glass of wine, and stocks several scotches and cognacs . It’s also a good place to watch a game if you’re missing watching sports while on vacation.

yacht and beach quick service

Starting at 5PM, Crew’s Cup serves a limited menu of favorites from the steakhouse next door. We recommend the Yachtsman Signature Bread (especially the onion pull-apart rolls!), and the Lobster Bisque .

Epcot festivals.

You can walk to EPCOT from this resort, so we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that some of best eats available to you could be right inside EPCOT’s International Gateway if there’s a festival going on!

yacht and beach quick service

EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

EPCOT festivals truly have a plethora of different options , so it’s great if no one in your group can decide on one place to eat, or if you have many items to check off your festival list anyway! Check the pages below for the latest dates, menus and information on EPCOT’s festivals:

Walking around Disney’s BoardWalk is also a great option, as it’s really close by and has some great restaurants as well .

It is hard to beat Ale and Compass for a delicious breakfast and we love lunch at Beaches and Cream…especially the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Yum! Both of these restaurants are good reasons to stay on the Boardwalk as far as we are concerned!

Looking forward to our lunch at Beaches and Cream next month. Lunch choices will probably be chicken sandwiches, followed by dessert (No Way Jose and Strawberry Shortcake). We usually order burgers or grilled cheese, but the chicken sandwich sounds so delicious, so we decided to be a bit different; but we need our favorite desserts.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

yacht and beach quick service

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

yacht and beach quick service

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

yacht and beach quick service

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

yacht and beach quick service

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

yacht and beach quick service

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

yacht and beach quick service

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

yacht and beach quick service

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Parishioners stopped teen with a rifle from entering church with 60 children inside

Churchgoers thwarted a teenager armed with a rifle from entering a Louisiana church full of children Saturday in a service that was being livestreamed, authorities said.

Police were called to St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, 20 miles south of Lafayette, at 10:35 a.m. when the 16-year-old suspect tried to get in via the back door.

Around 60 children were inside the Catholic church at the time waiting to take their first Holy Communion, the church said.

The church said in a statement that parishioners confronted the suspect and took him outside before calling the police.

A police officer walks through St. Mary Magdalen in Abbeville, La., after a teenager armed with a rifle tried to enter the church Saturday, May 11, 2024, in an image from the church's livestream.

A recording of the livestream, broadcast by multiple local news stations, showed a man approach the Rev. Nicholas DuPré after 48 minutes to whisper something. DuPré then stops the service and asks churchgoers to join him in prayer, as people audibly panic and some begin to scream.

Police officers can then be seen walking through the church, as boys run across the altar and the clergy take shelter. Someone is heard to say over a loudspeaker: "Guys, just get ahold of your children, go slowly. We did apprehend a child, he is in custody."

Abbeville Police Chief Mike Hardy said in a statement on Facebook that the suspect was "confronted by parishioners and escorted outside." Police then arrived and placed him in custody, before sweeping the church to ensure there was no further threat and there had been no injuries.

The suspect was arrested and later charged with terrorizing the church and two counts of possession of a firearm by a juvenile. Witnesses told KADN of Lafayette that he was dressed all in black and armed with the rifle.

He was questioned at Abbeville Police Department, alongside a parent, before he was taken to Abbeville General Hospital's behavioral unit for evaluation, police said.

Police praised the quick-thinking bravery of the church congregation. Hardy offered thanks to the "clergy and parishioners of St Mary Magdalen Church for their quick response and remaining calm throughout this matter."

He also said the FBI and the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office were involved in the ongoing investigation and thanked them for their assistance.

The communion event continued despite the disruption. "The joy that these kids experienced today upon receiving their First Communion is beyond words. Congratulations!" the church said on Facebook.

The church said in a statement issued by the Catholic Diocese of Lafayette that it thanked police and parishioners for their swift response.

"While we realize this was a frightening experience for those in attendance, we are incredibly grateful to both parishioners and police officers for acting quickly to ensure the safety of all," it said.

The church now plans to have uniformed law enforcement officers outside its Masses from now on, "out of an abundance of caution," but urged anyone seeking a first Holy Communion to do so at the next available Mass.

Earlier this month, a man pulled a gun on a pastor at a church in Pittsburgh, an incident also caught on a video livestream.
