Legendary Marina & Yacht Club, a premier waterfront development coming to Gulf Shores, Alabama reached a significant construction milestone this past week. The marina celebrated the topping off of its hurricane rated boat storage facility on Friday, October 13, marking a major step forward in its commitment to providing the ultimate in luxury boating experience.
The Topping Off Event was attended by esteemed guests, elected officials, inventors, and community leaders, was a momentous occasion that showcased Legendary Marina & Yacht Club’s dedication to creating a truly exceptional waterfront community. The event featured a traditional topping off ceremony where the final steel beam painted gold was signed by guests to be placed atop the new building, symbolizing progress and a bright future.
“We are incredibly excited to reach this topping off milestone, which represents a significant achievement in our mission to redefine a luxury boating experience on the Gulf Coast,” said Rodney Chamberlain, VP of Marina Developers, LLC.
“We have enjoyed our working experience with the City of Gulf Shores in the creation of what will eventually be the Town Center of Gulf Shores including a festive marketplace and entertainment center anchored with a wet and dry marine complex,” says Mr. Peter Bos, CEO and Founder of Legendary Marina and Yacht Club.

Gulf Shores marina to open Margaritaville

Legendary Marina and Yacht Club hosted a celebration on Oct. 13 to mark the completion of its structural framework as its opening comes closer to a reality.
The 26-acre property , which is set to open in early 2024, will include restaurants, shops, a pool and clubhouse.
Peter Bos, founder, surprised the audience by announcing that Margaritaville, the late Jimmy Buffet's restaurant chain, will be among the restaurants offered on the property.
"We are thrilled to celebrate this pivotal moment in the construction of the marina," said Rodney Chamberlain, vice president of marina development. "This project has been a true collaboration, reflecting the dedication and commitment of everyone involved. The topping off party allows us to pause and acknowledge the progress we've made as we look forward to the next stages of development."
Among the attendees was Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft and Mayor Pro Tempore Phillip Harris, who also took the stage to make remarks regarding the marina development.
"We're really proud about having water access in our city that we've never had before as we work to make Gulf Shores the best it can be," Craft said.

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA ) Legendary Marina & Yacht Club, a driving force in the Marina and Hospitality Industry, announces our expansion to the city of Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2023. Located along the Intracoastal Waterway, Legendary Marina & Yacht Club Gulf Shores is scheduled to be completed in a two-phase project. Phase one is set for groundbreaking in March 2022 and is expected to be completed in 10 months. The development is located on the Intracoastal Waterway about one mile west of Hwy. 59.
Phase one features two fully enclosed dry-stack storage buildings, wet dockage in the marina basin, parking accommodations, yacht club, and pool. Dry storage racks will accommodate vessels in lengths up to 50 ft while wet dockage accommodates vessels of up to 60 ft. Unique to our new location, personal storage units will be available for storing your boating day gear.
A conveniently located ship store will accommodate any boating day necessities including small grocery items, ice, bait, and fuel. With an award-winning sales and services team, Legendary Marine Gulf Shores, will extend their operations on-site to combine sales, service, parts, and boat storage in one convenient location.
Phase two will detail an exciting new restaurant announcement and continued growth in hospitality amenities. More information on phase two will be made available later.
