Alamitos Bay Yacht Club--494 members, all sailboaters. Five sponsors and boat ownership required. Three-month waiting list. Initiation fees and dues are confidential.
American Legion Yacht Club--200 members. Two sponsors required. No initiation fees, $25 a year dues.
Anacapa Yacht Club--150 members. Two-month waiting list. Two sponsors needed. Dues are $220 a year.
Arizona Yacht Club--200 members, all sailboaters. No facility. $100 initiation fee, $75 annual dues.
Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club--538 members. Three sponsors required. Initiation $2,000, monthly dues of $80.
Balboa Island Yacht Club--Must be between 5-16 years old. Only active during summer.
Balboa Yacht Club--680 members. Six-month waiting list. Two sponsors required. Initiation $2,800, monthly dues of $80 and minimum charges of $90 on food and drink every three months.
Belmont Shore Sailing Assn.--94 members, all sailboaters. No facility. Initiation $15, annual dues $20.
Buccaneer Yacht Club--70 members, all sailboaters. Initiation $50, yearly dues $75.
Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club--550 members. Two sponsors required. $1,548 initiation, $240 annual dues.
California Yacht Club--1,225 members. Two sponsors required. $1,500 initiation fee, $104 monthly.
Capistrano Bay Yacht Club--150 members. $350 initiation, monthly dues of $35.
Catalina Island Yacht Club--160 members. Two sponsors required. Five-year waiting list. $6,000 initiation fee, $600 annual fee.
Cerritos Bahia Yacht Club--200 members, all powerboaters. One sponsor and boat ownership required. $200 initiation, plus $100 annually.
Channel Islands Naval Yacht Club--150 members. No facility. One sponsor required. Must be active in, retired or honorably discharged from military. No initiation, $30 annual dues.
Chula Vista Yacht Club--71 members. No facility. Two sponsors and boat ownership required. Initiation $450, monthly dues $15.
Coronado Cays Yacht Club--325 members. Two sponsors required. Dues and initiation fees are on a sliding scale based on age with 18-25 being $250 initiation and $11.25 monthly dues, 26-29 being $500-$22.50, and 30 and over being $1,000-$45.
Coronado Yacht Club--500 members. One-year waiting list. Five sponsors needed. Initiation $2,000, $44 monthly.
Cortez Racing Assn.--110 members, all sailboaters. No facility. Initiation $50, annual dues of $60.
Dana Point Yacht Club--400 members. One sponsor required, unless new to the area. Initiation $1,200, monthly $45.
Dana West Yacht Club--350 members. Not looking for new members, six-month waiting list. Initiation $250, annual dues $200.
Del Rey Yacht Club--500 members. Not looking for new members. Waiting list up to three years. Three sponsors and boat ownership required. Initiation $10,000, monthly dues $105.
Fresno Yacht Club--200 members. No facility. One sponsor required. Initiation $25, plus annual fee of $75.
Hollywood Yacht Club--80 members. No facility. Two sponsors required. Initiation $50, annual fee of $50.
Huntington Harbour Yacht Club--350 members. Two sponsors required. Initiation $1,300, $390 annual dues.
Jonathan Yacht Club--70 members. Must be member of Jonathan Club. Two sponsors required. Initiation $15,000, monthly dues of $185.
King Harbor Yacht Club--500 members. One sponsor and three references required. Initiation $1,420 plus $51 a month.
Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club--300 members. One sponsor needed. Initiation $3,000, annual dues of $650.
Lido Isle Yacht Club--350 members. Two sponsors required. Initiation $100, annual dues of $100.
Little Ships Fleet of Long Beach--100 members, all sailboaters. No facility. Initiation $120, monthly dues of $10.
Long Beach Yacht Club--900 members. No sponsors needed. 10-month waiting list. Initiation fee $4,000, plus monthly fee of $65.
Los Angeles Yacht Club--450 members. Five sponsors required, along with a proven commitment to sailing. Initiation $1,500, $74 monthly dues.
Malibu Yacht Club--95 members. Initiation $350, and $300 annual dues.
Marina Yacht Club--125 members. Must be a member of Marina City Club. Three sponsors required. Initiation $250, monthly dues of $125.
Marina Yacht Club of Long Beach--43 members. No facility. Two sponsors and boat ownership required. Must be married. Initiation $50, annual dues of $50.
Mission Bay Yacht Club--590 members. Two sponsors and boat ownership required. Initiation $1,200, plus monthly dues of $50.
Morro Bay Yacht Club--245 members, 95% powerboaters. Two sponsors needed. Initiation $450, annual dues of $75.
Navy Yacht Club of Long Beach--250 members. One sponsor required. Must be on active duty or retired from military with full exchange privileges. Initiation $36, monthly dues of $3.
Nevada Yacht Club--70 members, 98% sailboaters. No facility. Initiation $15, monthly dues of $5.
Newport Harbor Yacht Club--800 members. Not looking for new members. Five sponsors and boat required. Initiation fees and dues are confidential.
Oceanside Yacht Club--407 members. Two sponsors required. Two-year waiting list for non-boat owners. Initiation $500, dues of $30 a month.
Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club--420 members. Two sponsors needed. One-month wait. Initiation $5,000 plus $100 a month and minimum monthly food and beverage charge of $25.

Windjammers Yacht Club--200 members, 90% sailboaters. Three sponsors needed. Initiation $350, monthly dues $45.
Wooden Hull Owners Assn.--125 members. No facility. One sponsor and a wooden boat required. Initiation $25, annual fee $25.

The mission of the San Diego Yacht Club is to encourage and foster interest in all aspects of yachting
Tucked away in beautiful Point Loma, the San Diego Yacht Club is consistently ranked among the top 5 yacht clubs in the Nation and is recognized by the Club Leadership Forum as one of the finest facilities of its kind in the world.
Throughout its existence, the San Diego Yacht Club has evolved from a small gathering of boating enthusiasts joining together in 1886 to a world-renowned yachting community recognized for its success in bay sailing, ocean racing, predicted log racing, cruising, angling, and its support of youth programs at all levels. Competitions have ranged from Major National and World Championships to the Lipton Cup, from Junior Regattas to the Olympics, and from Classic yachts to the America’s Cup. Training and racing programs are available for adults as well as juniors.
