• Description

Gold Coast luxury motor yacht AKI is 78 feet of pure luxury ideal for any occasion or event. Cruise the canals with a luxury boat trip of Surfers Paradise and the beautiful Gold Coast Broadwater.  Sit back, relax and let the experienced skipper and crew take care of the rest!  

AKI has great entertaining areas and is perfect for day or evening charters. It will impress with it’s large open areas including an open Flybridge with ample seating, undercover lower deck and most importantly a daybed on the bow  – the best seat in the house!  

The inside lounge area is spacious and has a galley/bar for drink service. Another cockpit area leads to down below where there are 3 impressive bedrooms and bathrooms.  All areas are accessible during a charter.  

AKI is available for private charter, perfect for any occasion; Birthdays, Weddings, Corporate Events, Sunset Cruises and much more with flexible charter packages available.

Tips for Planning Luxury Cruises on the Gold Coast Broadwater

If you are planning a day out or a weekend away in the waters off the Gold Coast, here are some tips to make your escape more enjoyable. 

•  Time of Year – Firstly, know which time of the year you want to book a luxury boat charter on the Gold Coast. Weather plays a big part in the type of experience you are seeking. For instance, during peak summer, it’s often hot and humid, and rain can be frequent and heavy. During the winter, it is drier; however, the evenings can be cold. Fortunately, you don’t have to let the rain bother you too much. Our yacht has many indoor spaces for you to enjoy and the Back Deck and Saloon are completely weather-proof.
• Food and Drinks – With our commercial-size kitchen,  you can hire a caterer and enjoy professionally-prepared dishes. Or, you can throw some snags on the BBQ and chat as you share a casual lunch togethr.  We have all the platters, plates and cutlery you could possibly require so there is no need to bring any plastic plates or utensils onboard during your luxury boat hire. 
• Time of Day – Do you enjoy the sunset and the stars or want a warm day for swimming and sun-bathing on the bow of the MV Bacchus? You may choose to enjoy the sunset with bubbly and light snacks to watch the lights of Surfers Paradise and sneak a peek inside the waterfront mansions as you cruise the Broadwater under the stars.  The MV Bacchus is well-lit for socialising under the stars with twinkling bistro lights on the Sky Lounge at the bow.   
• Swimming or Socialising? You need to discuss any swimming options with our Booking Agent beforehand as the Broadwater can have dangerous tides and currents and not all cruise times are suitable for swimming.  The size of the MV Bacchus makes it difficult to anchor too close to land so swimmers must be proficient.   The MV Bacchus has a swim mat onboard and range of floatation toys for guests to enjoy.  There is also a new 16-foot water trampoline available.  Ask our booking agent Janine about it.

Our Gold Coast Sales Centres incorporate our highly popular “Out-Of-Water Boat Show”, a permanent display of yachts showcased on hardstands rather than in marina berths, allowing for a complete view of our new and used yachts for sale.

A line-up of premium pre-owned brokerage yachts are on display at our “Out-Of-Water Boat Show”every week from Monday to Friday, Saturday morning until midday and upon appointment for other times on weekends.

Appointments are required to inspect any of the boats on display, and can be made by contacting our Gold Coast Sales team.

Where do your boats depart from?

Our boats are berthed at Marina Mirage. Please see the ‘contact us ‘ page on our website  for further details and a map. Marina Mirage is about 10 mins from Surfers and 15 mins from Broadbeach.

Where can I park?

There is plentiful free parking at Marina Mirage/Mariners Cove which you are permitted to use.  Please check signage at time of parking and if parking overnight consider street parking to avoid towing.

What about other transport options?

There are lots of ways to get to the boat! The most popular (and cost effective/convenient) is often via Maxi Taxis.

I am short on time can you please help me out with catering/drinks?

Yes, we also offer catering and drinks service for your convenience. Please request our full catering list as advance bookings are required. We offer a range of catering options from grazing boards, to canapes and private chefs.

(Catering and drinks service options may be affected by Government restrictions due to Covid, please check at the time of your charter what the current restrictions are)

Do you have Eskies on board?

Yes we have Fridges & Eskies and we also provide ice. 

Where can we go on our charter?

We mainly operate in the calm, protected waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater. Where to go very much depends on what you would like to do and how long your boat charter is for so please feel free to discuss this with our team. In a 3 hour charter during the day our guests usually love a swim stop at Wavebreak Island where you can enjoy the range of island activities on board. Your skipper is knowledgeable in the local area and will make recommendations based on the conditions on the day.  If you don’t wish to swim in a 3 hour charter you instead opt to sail further north along the inside of South Stradbroke Island and see the millionaires mansions at Sovereign Islands.

In the evening we will generally sail north to watch the sunset and return to the southern part of the Broadwater to enjoy the city lights after dark which are just beautiful.

Will I get seasick?

We mainly operate in the calm, protected waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater. If we go offshore (into the open ocean) there is a possibility of large waves. 

Are your charters suitable for guests with limited mobility?

We have welcomed several guests on board with limited mobility. However we do realise that each individual is different in terms of ability and what they are comfortable with. Please take a look at the 360 tours on the ‘ Our Boats ‘ page for an ideal of getting around the boats and do bear in mind a big step up (or carry) is required to board the boats at the marina. Our friendly team will be happy to discuss further to ensure you and your guests are comfortable prior to making a booking.

Coast Guard rescues 11 crew members from stranded fishing boat off Kerala coast

New Delhi: In a coordinated sea-air operation, the Coast Guard on Wednesday rescued an Indian fishing boat, which was in a critical condition due to flooding from a hull rupture, with 11 crew onboard off the Kerala coast, amid heavy rain and challenging weather conditions.

An ICG Dornier aircraft on maritime surveillance had located the distressed Indian fishing boat (IFB) on the night of July 16, the Defence Ministry said in a statement. "The vessel was in a critical condition due to flooding from a hull rupture near the keel and loss of propulsion, which posed a threat to the safety of the crew," the ministry said.

In a coordinated sea-air operation, the Indian Coast Guard successfully rescued the stranded IFB 'Aashni', about 80 nautical miles from Kochi, amid heavy rain and challenging weather conditions, the statement said. Patrolling ICG ship 'Saksham' was immediately diverted by the ICG district headquarters no. 4 (Kerala & Mahe) to assist the vessel.

"To bolster the efforts, another ICG ship 'Abhinav' was deployed, along with an advanced light helicopter to rescue the crew. A technical ICG team embarked onto the distressed boat, carried out de-flooding operations, and provided necessary assistance. The operation culminated with the rescue of all crew members, and the vessel," the statement said. The boat was subsequently handed over to the fisheries department.

Our Construction Processes

The construction process begins at our dedicated hull & large component facility where our hulls are typically built in female molds using industry-leading resin infusion processes. We also have molds for component construction of bridgedeck floors, cabin roofs, decks, flat panels, beams, daggerboards, rudders, and many more components. Primary materials consist of epoxy infusion resin, Vectorply fabrics and Corecell foam. Structural and secondary components are prefabricated and assembled once the hulls are completed using Gougeon West Systems and Pro-Set epoxy.

Barstool owner rescued by Coast Guard after losing control of boat off Nantucket

The owner and founder of Barstool Sports lost control of a boat off Massachusetts before being rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Dave Portnoy, 47, said in a TikTok video that the harrowing Monday rescue off Nantucket happened after he unhooked his boat from buoys. Heavy winds then caused him to drift out to sea, and his engine was dead, he said.

Portnoy said another boater saw that he was in distress and radioed the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard rescuers towed the boat back to mooring, Portnoy said. He said he appreciated the work of the “four burly dudes” who rescued him, and that he might be finished with boating for a while.

“Captain Dave lives to tell another tale. Third time as captain, already lost at sea. It’s a dangerous game, the sea’s angry my friends,” Portnoy said via TikTok.

Portnoy, who maintains a robust online presence and has millions of followers, used another social media channel, X, to thank the Coast Guard on Monday. The Coast Guard responded with a message for Miss Peaches, Portnoy’s pit bull.

“Any time, Dave,” the Coast Guard posted, with a pair of smiling emoji. “Tell Miss Peaches we love her.”

Portnoy founded Barstool Sports in 2003 in the Boston area. The sports and pop culture website has more than 16 million followers on Instagram.

One man dead, one rescued after boat capsizes in rough seas at Tweed River near Queensland-NSW border

A man has died and another man has been hospitalised after the pair were rescued from a stricken boat at the Tweed River mouth on Saturday morning.

A major rescue operation was launched after the men were seen clinging to the upturned hull of a 6-metre runabout in rough conditions.

Investigators say initial enquiries indicate neither man was wearing a life jacket. 

A man has died and his companion has been rushed to hospital after their boat capsized in rough seas while trying to cross the Tweed River bar in far northern NSW.

Police say the men were spotted clinging to the upturned hull of a 6-metre half-cabin runabout just before sunrise this morning.

A major rescue operation was launched involving water police, volunteer marine rescue, surf lifesavers and a rescue helicopter.

Rescue crews were able to bring one man to shore.

The other man was winched out by helicopter but was unable to be revived.

The boat washed up on Duranbah Beach, a popular surf break on the Queensland border.

It is believed the men had launched the boat from the Kennedy Drive Boat Ramp in Tweed Heads.

The Tweed River bar is a notoriously treacherous crossing – a powerful 2.5-metre swell at the bottom of an outgoing tide made conditions particularly dangerous.

'Very, very rough' surf

A spokesperson for the rescue helicopter said one man was found unresponsive near the northern breakwall, while the other man was retrieved from the water by members of the public on a jetski before emergency services arrived.

Dale Hack, who witnessed the incident from the beach, said the surf was extremely rough.

"From about 12pm yesterday the swell rose and [the bar] was very, very rough," Mr Hack said.

"No one was surfing — it was just a wash."

Investigators say initial enquiries indicate neither man was wearing a life jacket.

Swimmer rescued

In a separate incident, a 47-year-old man had to be winched to safety by the rescue helicopter from the ocean at Broken Head.

Rescue crews say he was pulled out to sea and called triple-0 from his smart watch, staying on the phone to emergency services while he waited for help.

He was found more than 1 kilometre offshore near Suffolk Park and dropped back to the beach, where he was able to walk to a waiting ambulance.

He was taken to hospital for assessment but has since been released.
