Cloud 9: Let’s Take A Closer Look

' src=

In the ninth month of the year, let’s take a close look at the Super Yacht ‘Cloud 9’.

The phrase “cloud nine” evokes a feeling of pure joy and happiness, and it’s the perfect name for a superyacht designed for family relaxation. Cloud Nine is a remarkable achievement, especially considering its origins.

When the original client for the 74-meter hull withdrew, CRN found itself in a difficult situation. But a new owner emerged, with his own design and build teams, and together they transformed CRN’s second largest yacht into a stylish and comfortable cruiser.

The hunt for a new superyacht

Captain Colin Boyle was sailing his yacht Cloud 9 in Singapore when he received a phone call from his owner. It was January 2014, and the owner had a proposition: Fly to Rome at 1 a.m. to look at a potential new superyacht.

The owner was looking to build a larger yacht, and Burgess, the broker who had represented him on the previous build, knew of an opportunity. CRN project 131 was a 74-meter yacht already well underway, but the original client had withdrawn.

The hull and superstructure were complete, and the major machinery was installed. The yacht had similar lines to the award-winning Azteca and the yard’s flagship, Chopi Chopi.

Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project saw it as an opportunity to “rewrite the story.” The new owner had three months to replan and redraw the yacht, and the team worked tirelessly to make his vision a reality.

The result is a superyacht that is both timeless and approachable. The exterior styling is mature and sophisticated, focusing on human comfort. The stern platform features a massive fold-down door that creates a sprawling beach club, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and entertaining guests.

Cloud 9 Plus: A superyacht beach house with a twist

One of the highlights of Cloud 9 is its massive recreation area on the main aft deck. The centrepiece of this area is a 10,000-liter spa pool with a glass bottom, flanked by stairs on either side. The owners have nicknamed their new yacht “Cloud 9 Plus,” and it’s easy to see why.

Winch Design has used sand tones, vibrant blues, and a treasure trove of decorative shells, corals, and agates to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Brushed Douglas fir and limed oak add to the beach house feel, while the generous dimensions and comfortable spaces make it the perfect place to entertain guests or simply relax and enjoy the luxury of your surroundings.

Here is a summary of the main features of this fantastic superyacht:

  • 74-meter length
  • 2,218 gross tonnes
  • Six cabins (including two staff cabins finished as guest cabins)
  • Two cinemas
  • Hair salon/massage room
  • Superyacht gym
  • Espresso bar
  • Outdoor dining area
  • Large circular wooden tables that can be expanded or removed
  • Interior and exterior spaces designed to merge indoor and outdoor living
  • More focus was put on the exterior spaces of the boat, including the cockpit on the main deck and the bow area
  • Heavy layered doors to the cabins with soundproofing from specialist Cergol Engineering
  • Owners’ deck with magnificent suite, wraparound windows, private terrace, and helideck (converted to grand entertaining platform)
  • Fire- and soundproof passageway through the engine room’s top level to connect the beach club, port tender garage, and guest arrival lobby

A family-friendly vibe was a priority

Cloud 9’s owners wanted a superyacht with a casual, family-friendly vibe, so they eschewed a traditional dining area in favour of a spacious, open-plan main saloon.

The heart of the saloon is a vast, 1.5-meter-deep sofa perfect for watching movies, lounging by the pool, or simply relaxing with family and friends. The overall atmosphere is sunny and inviting, with a 3D porcelain panel “cloud” adding movement and depth to the central bulkhead.

In addition to its spacious main saloon, Cloud 9 also features two cinemas, a hair salon/massage room, and a superyacht gym. The owner’s deck is a sprawling 400 square meters, with its own outdoor cinema and plenty of space to relax and entertain guests.

Genoa Boat Show:

Genoa Boat Show: The Ultimate Celebration of the Sea

The guest cabins are located on the main deck, and each has a unique nameplate engraved with the name of a Star Wars character, which can be removed if the guests are not fans of the films.

The owner’s deck is a highlight of the yacht, with a magnificent suite with wraparound windows looking onto a private terrace and helicopter deck below. The owners decided to turn the helipad into a grand entertaining platform, which has become a favourite spot for dining al fresco and karaoke.

In summary, Cloud 9 is a superyacht that seamlessly combines luxury, comfort, and functionality, which genuinely reflects the wishes of her owners.

CRN's Cloud 9 superyacht

Chartering Cloud 9 could induce, as its name suggests, a long-term state of bliss. While “something for everyone” is a cliché used to market most charter vessels, this graceful but voluminous yacht from CRN delivers on the promise with its abundance of and s.

For instance, the spa on the 245-foot yacht has a massage area, a hair salon, and a foldout balcony so guests getting a haircut or rubdown can sip a posttreatment Prosecco while savoring the view. The beach club’s espresso bar is a chic, laid-back sit-down area inside the transom—and the long swim platform just behind it provides snorkeling and scuba opportunities. Cloud 9 ’s 2,600-gallon glass-bottom pool sits between a Jacuzzi and an outdoor cinema. And among the yacht’s navy of water toys are a 30-foot Novurania Chase 31 tender, a MasterCraft X20 competition ski boat, a sailing catamaran, and five Jet Skis.

The Italian architectural firm Zuccon International packed these many bonuses into an elegant profile, avoiding the behemoth look—despite Cloud 9 ’s considerable length—by layering the yacht’s six decks. The foredeck works as a private gathering area and alfresco dining room under a tent designed for protection against wind and sun. Back near the pool, Zuccon worked closely with Andrew Winch, the designer of Cloud 9 ’s interior and exterior guest areas, for a seamless transition to the interior. The pool area is outfitted with a similar feel as the saloon, including sofas with deep cushions. The sense of being in an oasis of relaxation, inside and out, is reinforced at every turn, with calming choices in furniture, lighting, and the entertainment system.

Working with an area equaling several football fields, Winch created an informal but refined interior. Brushed Douglas fir and limed oak were his team’s woods of choice, but the designers customized each area by interspersing 50 other materials throughout the yacht. The artwork is modern but also classic, with British artist Fenella Elms’s porcelain cloudscape on the walls defining the saloon area. The owners decided to do without a formal dining area, so the designers created a circular entrance on the upper deck with a table at its center, where guests have the choice of dining with the transparent glass door closed or open to the elements.

Cloud 9 has eight staterooms—a master, a VIP suite, and six doubles (plus two cabins for assistants)—but it limits charters to 12 guests. The master suite on the owner’s deck measures an otherworldly 4,500 square feet and has access to a private terrace on the foredeck.

Despite its cavernous spaces and overall size, Cloud 9 is at heart an intimate family yacht that pays homage to formality without being imprisoned by it. It could be the coolest charter yacht in the fleet this year.

Watering Hole

Cloud 9’s glass-bottom pool is the yacht’s natural gathering point, with a Jacuzzi and memory-foam sofas nearby to promote relaxation. The outdoor cinema (there’s a second one in the main saloon for rainy days) uses 97-inch Stewart screens and 4K video projectors. Revolution Acoustics’ SSP6 “multi-ducers” provide surround sound around the pool. These nonspeakers actually use the aluminum panels near the pool to transmit sound. “The surface becomes a full-range speaker, creating a 3-D audio effect,” says Maurizio Minossi, technical director at Videoworks. “It turned out to be a great listening area and, with no speakers, had zero impact on the look of the yacht.”

The list of toys aboard Cloud 9 is almost unheard of, even for a yacht of its size. The selection includes a 30-foot Novurania rigid inflatable as a chase boat or landing craft, a MasterCraft X20 competition ski boat, a sailing catamaran, five stand-up and sit-down personal watercraft, diving gear, fishing gear, and a 40-foot inflatable slide. There’s also a drone to record all the maritime adventures.

Masterful Suite

The palatial master suite has just about everything anyone needs, including paired bathrooms, a walk-in closet, and a bedroom surrounded by windows that offer private panoramic water views. Master-suite guests also have access to a private deck just in front, a nice little space where they can sip morning cappuccinos.

Glassed-In Gym

The glassed walls and mirrors of the gym provide brilliant waterside views, but the area is also designed for serious workouts. There are spin bikes (which can be brought up to the foredeck), a rowing machine, a treadmill, and even a Technogym kinesis machine. The area can also convert to a schoolroom when the gym is not in use.

Advanced Entertainment System

Though most of its cables and computers are hidden behind bulkheads, Cloud 9’s entertainment center is one of the most advanced ever on a yacht. “The system and servers are as extensive as any modern office building,” says Minossi, whose firm installed the system during the 3-year build. “The owner dedicated a budget so we could install a Cisco network and include the best audiovisual equipment from Yamaha, Sony, and Panasonic.” The independent entertainment zones (think saloon, staterooms, and aft exterior area) can be controlled individually by iPad, including accessing the yacht’s extensive library of music and movies. Surfing the web is also seamless. “Our goal is to design the system as if someone is at home,” says Minossi, “even when they are many miles offshore.”

From our partners, sponsored listings.

Boat smart. Boat safe. Boat together. Plan your trip, manage your journey, capture beautiful memories, and return safely.

Ahoy Sailor,

And thanks for stopping by. The YachtCloud9 platform is now switched off, but we appreciate your feedback. So if you have been a YC9 user please send us a ping on Facebook or Twitter , we’d love to hear from you.

Here is a little history of this site.

YachtCloud9 started in 2014, on a warm summer night, on the docks of Granville Island in Vancouver, BC. Sitting on a friend's sailboat watching the sunset, we talked about tracking, boats, and how nice it would be to be able to combine the two, and follow a boat's journey and status anytime, anywhere.

Thus YC9 was born. Our idea was to create a digital platform to connect all the different aspects, companies and people across the world in the recreational boating world. From the guy or the girl that has a small boat, and just enjoys sailing it, to the industry around boating like marinas, charterers, service companies, all the way to the companies making the boats.

We spent the first 12 months talking to A LOT of people dealing with boats, to get a really good idea of where the issues are in each area of interest around this industry. One thing was very clear everywhere: there was way too much paper being used, and no unified, digital systems in place to properly collect, process, and manage all the data, and no user friendly (and especially mobile) way to access it.

That is what we set out to change.

Initially, the idea was to use existing tracking technology, devices that were used for containers, trucks and heavy equipment. But at the time, this technology, as we found out through extensive testing, did not work for our purpose.

On that first part of our YC9 journey we saw that there is a need for modern software all over the boating industry, and we wanted to focus on a very important aspect of safety, float plans.

Float plans, very similar to the mandatory flight plans in the air, are a crucial component of safety on the water. However, they are rarely used in recreational boating, because filling out the same information about you and your boat over and over again is tedious at best.

So we set out to make that task more enjoyable and build the second iteration of YC9, to allow people to easily create, file and share float plans. No more writing on paper, just a simple click and you put together a beautiful float plan on your computer or mobile device. You can invite your friends, and automatically file your plan with family, boating friends, or your club or charter company.

At each waypoint you simply check in, and check out when you leave (even via SMS!), and your float plan is automatically amended with that data. The vital information of where you were at, when you left and when you arrived is available for everyone that you share your plan with.

Our vision was to then build a device that would have the proper connectivity via satellite, so you can not only track your boat’s course, automatically check in and out based on your position, but also share that and other vital boat data with the charter company, service and maintenance companies.

We looked for companies that would help us build the hardware, interviewed a bunch, and found a great shop in Sweden who was able to do it.

In 2017 we raised seed funding, to be able to fully design and build the first testing devices.

Unfortunately, we were too late. Just a couple of weeks after, we found that a competitor had leapfrogged us with their device, bringing it to market before we could.

As a small, fully bootstrapped operation, this was no good news. Even if the competition did not think as big as us, they had the first mover advantage, so we decided to call it a day. It would have taken us too long to raise enough capital to get ahead, and we did not want to gamble with our seed investors' money.

Since then, we kept the site going, to provide these awesome float plans, used it ourselves to keep safe, and hoped that we could someday pick this grand idea of ours up again.

Now, it’s time to say goodbye, as the site needs resources and money to run. We did not want to charge for this essential safety tool, to put a hurdle on helping people to use it.

We want to thank everyone that was involved in this journey, from the people that had to listen to our endless passionate ramblings about how we are going to change the boating world, to all the boating people we met on this journey and who gave us so much useful information and advice.

A big thanks also to our seed investors, who believed in our vision, and were ready to go on that adventure with us, and our advisors for their invaluable contribution to set us on the right path.

A special thanks goes to my co-founders.

Sarah Cassady, who is the most amazing coder/product person I have ever had the pleasure of working with over the last 30 years of me being involved in software development, and a good friend. Her relentless drive to build user friendly, smart, and efficient solutions is an inspiration to me.

Special thanks also to Colin Jackson, and Cooper Boating, who graciously gave us a home, many test subjects from their fleet, and super valuable, hands-on advice from decades of boating experience.

By Katie Scott | 23rd Nov 2017

A world of utter euphoria awaits aboard the 74m/243ft superyacht STARBURST IV, a ground-breaking CRN delivery with an emphasis on family relaxation and meeting the needs of the modern-day charter guest.

When STARBURST IV hit the water in January 2017, she sent a surge of excitement across the industry. As the result of a close collaboration between three yachting greats - Italian shipyard CRN, Rome-based naval architects Zuccon International Project, and British studio Winch Design - expectations were high. And stepping on board, it immediately becomes clear STARBURST IV is a yacht that lives up to the hype.

In fact, the motor yacht seduces from the moment eyes are laid on her good-looking profile. A gently tiered superstructure and gracefully curved exterior lines ensure STARBURST IV, despite measuring 74 meters, does not intimidate and this approachable presence extends across the decks and into the guest living areas within.

STARBURST IV photo 1

Winch Design had free rein over the interior, apart from two provisos: it had to be both family and charter-friendly. Fulfilling this brief presented a challenge as what an owner requires when spending long periods of time on board contrasts significantly with what guests need for a one- or two-week charter.

The realization of these two demands has been dubbed by CRN as STARBURST IV's 'double DNA'. But for Andrew Winch, the creative director of Winch Design, the yacht's stand-out feature is being 'consistently relaxing throughout' and much of this can be put down to her styling, which he sums up as 'driftwood beach chic'.

To achieve the look, the design studio brought together sand tones - mainly through the use of brushed Douglas fir and limed oak - pops of vivid blues, and a treasure chest of decorative shells and corals. Yet there are some 50 surface materials in total, pointing to the design firm's incredible attention to detail.

Also key to STARBURST IV's tranquil interior is the free-flowing layout, which seamlessly merges comfortable spaces together, as proved by the ‘Best Layout on a Yacht’ award she picked up at the 2017 World Yacht Trophies.

STARBURST IV photo 2

Entering through the sliding doors on the main deck aft, guests become immersed in the heavenly oasis of the main salon. Open, bright, and luxuriously laidback, it presents the perfect atmosphere in which to unwind.

Abandoning conventions, there is no dining option here. Rather, a bar lined with high back stools provides the ultimate welcome as, further forward, a sumptuous seating area lures guests to sink into a 1.5-meter-deep sofa and matching armchairs, while lone couches in alcoves to port and starboard offer intimacy if required.

A 3D porcelain panel by British artist Fenella Elms along with two vortex-shaped sculptures by Tim Royall capture attention on the central bulwark and, when not admiring the art, guests can take advantage of the salon's cinema setup for movie nights at sea.

What’s also noticeable is the absence of sharp edges and angles. From sphere-shaped coffee tables to cylindrical pillars, the bespoke furniture and cabinetry ensure STARBURST IV fulfills her child-friendly ethos, and from an aesthetic standpoint, the curves create an extremely soothing ambiance.

STARBURST IV photo 5

In the foyer forward of the main salon, a glass and steel elevator takes center stage. According to Winch Design, it represents ‘a waterfall from sundeck to beach club, connecting the exterior blue stripe to the interior’.

A hair salon and massage room are found forward of this main entryway. The attention to detail on the motor yacht shows no limits as even this relatively small space has its own remarkable qualities, including beautiful oak finishes and a fold-down hull door for alfresco massages over the water’s edge.

As there is a whole deck dedicated to the owner – or principal charter guest – the remaining forward section of the main deck is free for guest accommodation as well as two staff cabins.

Spanning off a wide central corridor, the six staterooms are made up of two double cabins, two convertible cabins, and two twin cabins. Each has a nameplate on its door engraved with the name of a Star Wars character, but these can be removed if a charter party isn’t a fan of the franchise.

STARBURST IV photo 6

The principal charter guest, meanwhile, has the domain of the upper deck. Making the most of its prime position, the magnificent suite's crowning feature is the full-length, wrap-around windows, which look out onto a private terrace forward and the cruising grounds beyond.

Ridges in the thick carpet imitate the ripples of sand in shallow waters, and a vanity and chaise lounge showcases the curves of the bespoke furniture to perfection. These details are accentuated further by the natural light flooding in through the expanse of glazing.

Backing onto the sleeping quarters to port is a ‘her’ bathroom with access to a large dressing room, and opposite to starboard is a 'his' shower room and a dressing room, which can also serve as a study.

The overall feel is extremely soothing. There could be no better way to start the day than waking up to panoramic views of the ocean and enjoying an alfresco breakfast on the secluded terrace. There is also a media room and office aft for watching television and catching up on business.

STARBURST IV photo 9

On the bridge deck below, one lucky guest will be treated to the VIP suite. Situated just forward of the lobby, the stateroom’s entire starboard bulwark has been replaced with a sliding glass door, providing magnificent views as well as direct access onto the side deck.

Mirroring this cabin to port is a gymnasium stocked with Technogym equipment. The full-width glass doors ensure guests can work out in a semi-alfresco setup while being rewarded with ocean vistas.

Enhancing the effect of the full-width glass doors – whether they are open or shut – are the glass panels on the exterior bulwarks. Such detail guarantees guests, no matter whether sleeping or exercising on this deck, can revel in unencumbered views.

STARBURST IV photo 11

Taking up the aft section of the bridge deck is the skylounge. Undulating silver panels shimmer on the ceiling above a sociable seating area, but attention will no doubt be drawn to the scene of white fluffy clouds painted onto the aft bulwark, with the blue hues of the sky matching the scatter pillows and lampshades.

The skylounge's ethereal look makes it even more relaxed than the main salon, and the tranquil and cosy setting is perfect for spending precious time with all the family.

The salon then narrows to frame the yacht's main dining area, where a large wooden table is surrounded by cream chairs adorned with a navy coral motif.

STARBURST IV photo 14

Winch Design worked closely with Zuccon International Project to blur the boundaries between indoors and out across the yacht. As a result, STARBURST IV's deck spaces capture the laidback elegance and holistic ethos of the interior.

Nowhere is this better showcased than on the bridge deck aft. The dining table is surrounded by sliding glass panels which, when open, create a semi-alfresco setup. Yet, in windy conditions, they provide much-needed protection while still allowing for 180-degree views of the outside surroundings.

The table can even be expanded to seat more guests or removed completely to make space for a dance floor or simply a place to mingle during a larger event.

STARBURST IV photo 15

Wraparound decks lead forward from here to meet the bow, where the outdoor offerings continue, proving luxury yacht STARBURST IV to be suitable for a variety of gatherings.

A built-in sofa and an expanse of sun pads provide an intimate space to unwind, as well as overlook what was originally intended to be a helipad. The owners, however, had other ideas and now the space serves as a grand entertaining area.

A large tent can be installed, shading guests from the weather as they dine alfresco or catch up over cocktails. Loose furniture is on hand for these occasions, as is a karaoke machine and disco equipment for party nights.

STARBURST IV photo 21

Another outdoor hotspot on STARBURST IV is the 10,000-litre spa pool, a showpiece feature that elevates the main deck aft into an attractive recreation area.

Coaxing guests to lie down and dry off after taking a dip is a 1.5-meter-deep sofa, which adjoins the pool and forms part of a larger seating area shaded by the overhang of the deck above.

STARBURST IV photo 18

More outdoor leisure facilities are available on the aft section of the owner’s deck. Here, guests can lie back and watch movies under the stars thanks to an alfresco cinema setup.

In comparison, the sundeck above is the ultimate daytime hangout. A spa pool flanked by sun pads takes up the forward position, allowing charterers to bask in the sunshine while taking in wonderful panoramas.

Tucked under the navy blue radar arch is a bar with a teppanyaki grill, ensuring refreshments are always close at hand. There is also a seating area in which to sip cocktails or feast on freshly grilled snacks.

Lunch can be served around a circular table on the aft half of the deck too. A retractable Bimini shade is on hand if needed while a line-up of teak loungers and another seating area remain open to the sun.

STARBURST IV photo 27

One of the most unforgettable features aboard STARBURST IV, however, is the lower deck beach club. The transom door drops down to form a swimming platform large enough to host modular seating, parasols, sun beds, and even a circular dining table.

Glass doors slide open to reveal a chic lounge complete with an espresso bar. Sunlight streams down through the glass bottom spa pool on the deck above to create a magically luminous effect for those chilling out here.

A corridor connects to the port garage, giving ready access to the water toys. These are launched from drop-down platforms to port and starboard, which means guests hanging out in the beach club aren’t disturbed.

Another unique characteristic of this deck is an entrance lounge, where guests arrive by tender first step on board. Quiet and soothing, the teak and holly-clad space is designed to allow guests to gradually adjust from the bright light and offers a fitting introduction to the rest of the superyacht.

STARBURST IV photo 26

One thing is for sure, those on a yacht charter aboard this ground-breaking, family-friendly, and blissfully designed superyacht will find themselves on cloud nine.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

super yacht cloud 9

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

super yacht cloud 9

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

super yacht cloud 9

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

super yacht cloud 9

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

super yacht cloud 9

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

super yacht cloud 9

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

super yacht cloud 9

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
