The award-winning Riviera collection from 39 to 78 feet today includes 22 blue-water yachts from the magnificent flagship Motor Yacht, long-range and luxurious Sports Motor Yachts, sophisticated Sport Yachts, adventurous SUVs and the elegant Belize collections.

Riviera Australia owner Rodney Longhurst said: “Our 2023 Rivera showcase at Fort Lauderdale will provide a special opportunity for visitors to fully appreciate the exceptional quality, practicality, and luxury across our range; the finest yachts we have built over the past 43 years and all in one amazing location.

“For our yacht owners within the Riviera family of the Americas, we will be hosting an exclusive VIP reception during the show to celebrate our premiere yachts and the Riviera family.”

“On behalf of our 900-strong team in Australia and at our headquarters in Stuart Florida, we will be proud to welcome our yacht owners and visitors to our spectacular showcase from October 25.”

Riviera 585 SUV – Americas Premiere

The adventurous new 585 SUV is the culmination of 10 years of evolution and the launch of more than 220 SUV yachts since Riviera pioneered the SUV concept with the 445 model in 2012.

She offers three large staterooms and three bathrooms, as well as a space aft of the full-beam midships master suite that can be configured as a utility room, laundry, crew quarters or additional accommodation with its own bathroom.

Entertaining spaces include a cockpit that opens out to the boarding platform to create an expansive water-sports space, a superb semi-enclosed alfresco deck and an inviting foredeck entertaining zone with a large comfortable wrap-around lounge.

Her interior is rich with premium fabrics, exquisitely hand-finished exotic timber cabinetry, in-vogue lounges, and plush carpet in all staterooms.

Power for the adventurous new 585 SUV is provided by twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1200s, rated at 900hp (662 kW) each, or twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350s, rated at 1000hp (735kW) each. Both options deliver exceptional power-to-weight performance.

Riviera 46 Sports Motor Yacht – Fort Lauderdale Show Premiere

The spectacular new 46 Sports Motor Yacht offers many of the unique sports motor yacht design features including multiple entertaining spaces that range from the boarding platform to foredeck sun lounges and a generous open flybridge that can accommodate eight guests in great comfort.

A covered alfresco deck forward of the cockpit expands the saloon living space through a

sliding glass door and large awning window that seamlessly connects guests with the galley and dining spaces forward. A timber staircase leads to the open flybridge with aft helm and lounges forward.

The yacht’s accommodation deck offers three double staterooms and two generous bathrooms. The master stateroom and en suite bathroom are forward while guest staterooms are amidships.

Power aboard the 46 Sports Motor Yacht is provided by twin Volvo Penta D8-IPS800s delivering 441kW (600hp) each. Owners can select optional Volvo Penta D11 IPS950s delivering 533kW (725hp) each.

A Luxurious Explorer: Riviera’s 78 Motor Yacht

  • By Tom Serio
  • August 25, 2023

Riviera 78

The Riviera Yachts 78 Motor Yacht’s sense of “wow” starts with a wave-battling, sharp bow with more than 6 feet of freeboard forward that also has a gentle flare. Then, there are the generously sized hull windows and gentle sheerline that splits to offer high deck railings. The sizable yacht’s main deck includes a fully covered after section, a salon that rivals fine apartments, and a bow lounge typically found on larger yachts. Topping it off is a flybridge deck with an extended aft terrace that offers great vistas or a private hideout.

In association with superyacht designer Luca Vallebona and the Riviera Design Group, the Australian builder set out to create more voluminous spaces, maximize stowage, maintain excellent lines of sight and wrap it all in a functional layout. Goals achieved.

Take the salon: A portside sofa complements the opposing side’s L-shaped sofa (with oh-so-soft pillows) and oversized ottoman while maintaining walking space. One way Riviera creates floor space is by tucking away items that are not always used. Riviera designed a table to hide within the portside sofa, so, after the cushions are moved, the table flips up and out from its base, becoming a dining table for six to eight guests. Additionally, the 55-inch flat-screen TV is not mounted in a credenza, but instead drops from overhead. When fully extended, it’s in line with the lower staircase’s railing, so it doesn’t impede the walking areas. The salon has 6-foot-7-inch headroom and side windows measuring more than 3 feet in height, enhancing the sense of space while offering ocean views and letting in natural light.

Riviera 78 stateroom

The galley is aft with an overhead cabinet along the starboard window, nestled next to the after corner fridge/freezer. There are clear sightlines from the aft deck through the salon, thanks to the absence of bulkheads. Rounding out the cooking amenities are an electric cooktop, options for hot or cold sparkling water at the sink, two ovens, a dishwasher, several fridges and a freezer compartment.

A drop-down electrical window aft, along with the sliding access door, seamlessly connects the salon, galley and aft deck.

The aft deck—16 by 13 by 7 feet—includes a transom sofa with an aft privacy screen, a perfect setup for cozying up with a good book. There is also a starboard-side, L-shaped settee with a walnut dining table. A portside credenza includes a wet bar, a grill, a lower fridge, an ice maker, Corian countertops and stowage.

Riviera 78 helm

Dual staircases lead down to the hydraulic swim platform, which not only lowers into the water for handling water toys and swimming, but also rises to clear the aft wash when running. It serves as an additional alfresco social space as well.

Up top, the enclosed flybridge is home to the yacht’s only helm station. This space is also a mini salon, another great social area. Guests can sink into the ultra-soft sofa across from the 44-inch TV. Add in the fresh breeze by opening the sunroof, aft door and side windows. Headroom here is an equally impressive 6 feet, 7 inches. An open-flybridge version is available.

The helm is laid out with four 24-inch Garmin multifunction displays, so the operator can keep eyes on all the vital data, navigation charts, radar, sonar, cameras and more at a glance. With so much glass around the flybridge, visibility is unobstructed in all directions.

Riviera 78 interior

Step through the aft door to the flybridge terrace for more alfresco relaxation space. Eat, drink and be merry at the portside corner wet bar, which has two stools (with latches underneath, preventing tipping when in transit). A U-shaped dining area here can be used as lounge seating as well. A half-awning shields some of the space from the elements. Aft space is sufficient for additional lounge chairs. An on-deck day head reduces the need to go below.

Belowdecks, the 78 Motor Yacht is geared for the cruising enthusiast’s family. There are four staterooms and three heads. Down the forward staircase from the salon, an atrium landing provides access to all the staterooms. The full-beam master is amidships with a lounge seat, as well as a head with a shower stall and a separate toilet space. There’s also a full-size office desk that brings new meaning to the phrase “remote working.” Two double-bunk staterooms are forward, with the VIP in the forepeak.

The 78 Motor Yacht is customizable, and Riviera is open to owner requests. Want to replace the pantry with another fridge? No problem. Change the layout of the salon? Sure.

Riviera 78

I found that responsive handling comes standard. The 78 Motor Yacht is a graceful craft that reacts well to the single-lever controls, as well as to wheel input. Going hard over on the wheel doesn’t mean it’s a white-knuckle ride. There’s a gentle lean into the turns and an easy rise when hitting the wakes. In other words, this is an easy yacht for an owner-operator or a light crew.

Speaking with Chris McCafferty, international sales director at Riviera Australia, I learned that this yacht was ideal for its owner’s needs—which mirror a lot of owners’ needs in the global cruising community. “For this owner, we were able to check off all the boxes they had,” he said. Room for a cruising family? Check. A bluewater hull form and robust build? Check. Luxurious and homelike amenities? Check. Long range for extended cruising itineraries? Check. Inside and outside living? Check.

It appears that the Riviera 78 Motor Yacht does indeed check a lot of boxes. It makes me wonder: What will they think of next?

The Riviera 78 Motor Yacht’s engine options include V-12 MAN diesels in 1,500, 1,800 or 2,000 hp. The yacht I got aboard had the 2000s, providing a 21.1-knot cruise while burning 126 gallons per hour at 1,800 rpm, equating to a 450-nautical-mile range. At wide-open throttle, the yacht hit 29 knots at 2,200 rpm at a cost of 203 gph, yielding a range of 385 nm. Pull back the throttles to 10 knots for a 43 gph burn and a 2,500 nm range.

Form and Function

Creating multifunction spaces is a focal point for Riviera. For example, the garage door opens to a large stowage room for water toys, rods and secured containers. A staircase (not a ladder) ensures safe footing into the well. When open, the garage door houses a rain-shower head and lighting to illuminate the platform and area aft.

Smart design allows for a foredeck oasis with a forward-facing, U-shaped settee, a wooden table, side lounge seats and access to the foredeck gear.

Sitting in the Stidd helm seat and taking in the dash feels like commanding a spaceship. There are touchscreens for most all functions, and buttons for on/off controls. On the right of the seat is an extended platform that houses the throttles, joystick, autopilot and chart-plotter controllers.

Riviera formally announced as golf site for LA Olympics in 2028

  • Copy Link copied

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The International Golf Federation made it official Friday by announcing with Los Angeles Olympic organizers that Riviera Country Club will host the golf competition in 2028.

Riviera already has been preparing for the Los Angeles Games. A year ago, it had gold medalists Justin Rose (Rio de Janeiro) and Xander Schauffele (Tokyo) pose at the fabled club alongside Olympic swimming champion Janet Evans.

Riviera dates to 1926 and will celebrate its centennial anniversary in two years by hosting the U.S. Women’s Open for the first time. The course off Sunset Boulevard also will get another U.S. Open in 2031 for the first time since Ben Hogan won in 1948.

Its most recent major was the 1995 PGA Championship.

Riviera hosts the Genesis Invitational on the PGA Tour each February. Hideki Matsuyama won this year with a 62, the lowest final round by a winner at Riviera.

Los Angeles is hosting the Summer Games for the third time in 2028.

A Quiet Place: Day One

SPOILER WARNING : This story discusses plot points from “ A Quiet Place: Day One ,” now playing in theaters.

“A Quiet Place: Day One” is filled with tense silence, brutal kills and a moving ending, which leaves the door open for more apocalyptic horrors.

Related Stories

What the european box office could teach hollywood, ingrid andress says 'i was drunk' during home run derby national anthem performance, is checking into rehab, popular on variety.

“What makes this story compelling is that Sam is a character at the beginning of this movie that’s facing mortality in a way that we do not expect of a horror film, ‘What happens when life is slipping away from you any way, and then there’s an alien invasion?'” Nyong’o told Variety , reflecting on the characters’ final moments. “She goes on a journey that, in a sense, the creatures give her a new lease of life in a way and she learns to value life while she has it.”

Why did you want this movie to be your follow up after “Pig?”

I thought a lot about what I wanted to do after “Pig.” I avoided a lot of things. I wasn’t actively looking for a studio thing. I was kind of actively avoiding that. But with this movie, John and Paramount seemed really willing to give me the freedom to explore a character that otherwise would be pretty unconventional to explore in a movie like this. I just fell in love with the idea of Sam’s character, and seeing the world through her eyes. It just seemed really exciting to get to explore a character like her on a large scale like this.

Filming took place in London. How were you able to pull off those shots of the Empire State Building and then the Brooklyn Bridge burning down?

It’s a combination of things. There’s beautiful effects from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), but we also did some helicopter shoots in New York. It was the first time I’ve ever been on a helicopter — it was terrifying. We did some portrait shots there.

One of the few sequences that we got to shoot in New York City was Sam driving across the bridge into the city, which we could have done with blue screen or many different options. But I thought it would be really nice to believe the entrance into New York so that everything else falls into place.

Did Djimon Hounsou know of the “Day One” prequel before he signed on to “A Quiet Place Part II,” since he is the connective tissue between the two movies?

The idea behind the “Day One” prequel was the speech that he gives in “Part II”. And I don’t really know if it was the chicken or the egg situation, if that was the spark of the idea. I’m not really sure. I know his character is intimately connected with the idea of a “Day One” movie.

Did you and John talk about Henri’s backstory?

No, John gave me a lot of freedom there. When you meet Henri on the island, he’s a leader of this community. I thought it’d be fun to get a glimpse into the beginning of what it took to get to that place of peace, and see that he probably had to make some really difficult decisions leading there. John gave me a lot of freedom to have at it and use the mystery and explore as much as I wanted to.

You worked with Alex Wolff on “Pig,” and cast him as Reuben, one of the hospice nurses. His death in this movie was brutal. What was the decision to have him killed off early in the film? What was his reaction to reading the script?

I wrote a character and then realized, “Wow, it’d be a great character for Alex,” and now I’m worried not to write something for him because he’s sort of my good luck charm. I love working with him.

Did Eric and Frodo really make it out alive?

I think they did. They earned it. I’d like to imagine that they’re safe somewhere, whether it’s on the island or elsewhere. They found a little bit of peace — for now.

Where is the boat going to at the end of the movie?

Who knows what exactly it’s going take to get there. Clearly, at least some of those people end up on the island that we saw in “Part II.” I’m sure their trials and tribulations aren’t over. But, in my mind, some of those people are eventually getting there.

Let’s talk about Sam’s fate. Nyong’o said that she believes the apocalypse gave Sam this new lease of life and allowed her to value life more now. What are your thoughts about that?

That’s very much what we were going for — this idea that a dying person who had counted themselves out of life is finding a new light in the apocalypse, in the depth of the world around them. There’s this unexpected journey of when everything’s crumbling and everything seems to be ending, Sam manages to find one last little moment to cherish and enjoy and some last bit of connection in the world. If the world hadn’t ended, she never would have gotten to have that ending for herself.

Sam’s death mirrored John Krasinski’s character at the end of the “A Quiet Place,” where he also sacrifices himself. Did you discuss the similarities there?

We definitely talked about how, on paper, this is two characters that are committing suicide. It’s just for very different reasons. That scene with John is beautiful — that he sacrifices himself for his kids. There was something fun about doing something similar, but purely for yourself and your own agency, and something that you’ve discovered in yourself. Doing a sacrificial death at the end, that might have stepped on the toes of the first one a little more, but Sam finds it so much in her own way that it has a different resonance. Both, I hope, are beautiful, but I like to think that it rings on its own.

Could we see a sequel, “ A Quiet Place: Day Two “ ?

Absolutely. I bet you will. But I don’t know — at this point, I’m just recovering from making this one. So I’m sure Paramount will come up with something very fun next.

What would you like to see?

What attracted me to this story was the uniqueness of Sam, following this dying person who isn’t even really fighting for survival. So, I would want to see something similarly off-beat, like an unexpected character in this world. The “Quiet Place” universe does open itself up to any characters that you want to follow and want to explore. I’m not sure. I put so much into Sam and Eric. That was all the love and care that I had right now to find these characters. I would have to think of a character that I could really fall in love with and really want to be surprised by seeing the world through their eyes.

“A Quiet Place Part III” is slated to come out next year. What do you know about that?

What characters in the franchise do you think could get their own spin off?

Almost any character could. You could easily follow prequels or sequels of any of the characters. They’ve done a really good job casting incredible actors in this franchise. I would watch Cillian Murphy do anything. There’s plenty of options.

I always fall back on an animated musical Frodo singing his way through this world, so that’s always an option.

This interview has been edited and condensed.

Middle East Gulf - the ‘locomotive driving oil and gas’

Despite the suspension of 22 jack-up rig contracts, leading OSV owner and analysts remain bullish on offshore oil and gas in the Middle East

While Saudi Arabia’s curtailment of its oil production expansion took the market by surprise earlier this year — followed by a spate of jack-up contract suspensions — an executive for a leading OSV owner sees continued strong demand in the Middle East.

OSV owners are seeing “a better market than we have seen for a long time and…the Middle East is the locomotive driving oil and gas,” P&O Maritime Logistics chief executive, Martin Helweg, told Riviera. Mr Helweg sees investment in gas development continuing to underpin offshore activity in the region.

He initially was concerned when the news broke about Saudi Aramco’s suspension of contracts for 22 jack-ups, which had a knock-on effect, impacting almost 40 offshore support vessels, including some of P&O Maritime’s.

Mr Helweg feared it could lead to a more systematic downturn in the market. “But,” he added, “that has not been the case.”

P&O Maritime Logistics (P&O ML) has not seen any similar pullback in Qatar, Abu Dhabi or in the rest of the region following Saudi Aramco’s production adjustment, said Mr Helweg, noting that the state-owned oil major “is pressing forward, just not as fast.”

Recent market reports by energy analysts and brokers confirm Mr Helweg’s assessment. Singapore-based brokerage firm UOB Kay Hian maintains a “bullish view” on the Middle East, despite the recent jack-up suspensions by Aramco. The Singapore broker says “day rates and utilisation rates appear to be holding up well” in the region. “[Prior to the suspensions], the jack-up segment has been one of the better performers this year, with day rates and utilisation rates up 11% and 15% yoy respectively,” pointed out UOB Kay Hian.

Market analysts MSI reported US$50Bn in offshore projects were awarded in H1 2024 in the Middle East Gulf, and expects if current trends continue, the region will surpass spending in 2022 and 2023.

Aramco is maintaining its current production capacity of 12M barrels of oil per day (bopd), following the cancellation of the Safaniya and Manifa offshore projects. The state-owned energy major is shifting its focus to develop more natural gas resources.

At the end of June, the Kingdom handed out a whopping US$25Bn in contracts for its Jafurah II and Master Gas System III projects, increasing its unconventional (shale) gas production.

In July, Abu Dhabi-based ADNOC Offshore awarded a US$733M contract to ADNOC Drilling for three island drilling rigs in support of the growing operations at the offshore Zakum field. ADNOC Drilling chief executive, Abdulrahman Abdulla Al Selari, said new island rigs would “be the most advanced in the world, embracing artificial intelligence, the most transformative technology of our generation.” The rigs, which will be constructed by China’s Honghua Group, will be delivered for the start of operations in 2026.

The Upper Zakum Oilfield has an estimated 50Bn barrels of oil reserves.

Meanwhile, QatarEnergy is undertaking a major drilling campaign to expand gas production from its North Field, underpinning its plan to increase LNG liquefaction capacity by 85% by 2030.

As of 1 July, rig utilisation levels in the Middle East Gulf were a healthy 85%, with 130 jack-up and mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs) active, and just 23 in layup, according to data from VesselsValue.

Similarly, 1,108 OSVs and 309 offshore construction vessels (OCVs) were operating, yielding active fleet utilisations of 86% and 88%, respectively.

Striking a balance

“As a shipowner, we try to balance short-term gain and long-term utilisation,” said Mr Helweg. “The Middle East does not have the highest rates for us, but it is a fairly stable market, and there is a lot of longevity in this market.” He said Qatar offers “decent rates and really strong demand.”

As a result of the varying regional market dynamics, P&O ML strikes a balance for its vessels between long-term contracts in Qatar, Saudi and the Caspian — where it is a major player — with short-term contracts in West Africa. Mr Helweg is pleased with the company’s overall portfolio, which he feels maximises the returns available in the current upcycle.

“We made a tactical choice of not contracting a certain portion of our fleet for more than a year, including options. As market rates continue to increase, we, like other owners, want to ride that curve up. With more long-term contracts you have less ability to do that,” he said.

Just a few years ago, the “name of the game” for OSV owners was to drive utilisation. A resurgence in demand and a tight supply of tonnage make for improving day rates that will allow owners to take advantage of the upcycle of repair tattered balance sheets and retire less favourable debt.

“We try to balance short-term gain and long-term utilisation”

“We don’t dictate the rates but want to make sure that we ride that curve upwards,” said Mr Helweg.

The fallout from the Saudi Aramco suspensions resulted in contracts for four P&O ML vessels being cancelled, but there was a silver lining for the Dubai-based owner. “We’re actually signing contracts that are 15% higher in rates,” declared Mr Helweg.

As an example, vessel revenues in the Middle East reported by Tidewater rose to US$37.9M in Q1 2024, up from US$30.8M in the same period in 2023. Vessel utilisation rose to 86.6%, as did vessel day rates to US$11,108 from the previous quarter when they were US$10,855 and 85.6%, respectively. But vessel operating expenses jumped, too, by 6.6%, rising from US$6,304 per day to US$6,719, demonstrating the fine line owners must walk to remain profitable.

Newbuildings, conversions and consolidation

While the first orders are being placed for newbuildings, Mr Helweg does not think the timing is quite right. “We’re not investing into newbuildings, and nor do I think we should. It’s a very simple game of supply and demand, and we shouldn’t destroy the supply side now that is finally somewhat balanced.”

But that does not mean P&O ML is not investing in its existing fleet. It is undertaking several conversion projects, including refitting one of its module-carrying vessels (MCVs) into a dynamic positioning class-2 export and inter-array cable-lay vessel to support offshore windfarm development.

“The jack-up segment has been one of the better performers this year”

Some MCVs are being operated as “micro-feeder vessels,” carrying upwards of 250 TEUs. MCVs were chartered to support the construction of one of Europe’s largest offshore windfarms off the coast of Germany.

When P&O ML does pull the trigger on newbuildings, it will be guided by commitments made by parent DP World. At COP28 in Dubai in 2023, DP World joined the First Movers Coalition, setting a target of powering at least 5% of its short-sea shipping with zero-emission fuels through the introduction of hybrid-electric and methanol-enabled feeder ships.

FSIVs under construction

One of the largest OSV owners in the Middle East, Saudi-based Zamil Offshore Services, will grow its fleet with the addition of four 60-m fast support intervention vessels (FSIVs) under construction at a Singapore shipyard.

Being built to ABS class by Lita Ocean, the FSIVs, Zamil 80 , Zamil 81 , Zamil 82 and Zamil 83 , will be used to transport cargo, maintenance equipment and personnel for Saudi Aramco’s operations in the Middle East. The main deck of each monohull FSIV will provide a clear deck area of 250 m2 for cargo, rated at 2.5 t/m2. Additionally, a business class forward cabin will provide seating for 60 service personnel.

The vessels will comply with the latest marine contract vessel specifications and requirements from Saudi Aramco, including ABS SMART and IDM-A notations.

Designed by Incat Crowther, each FSIV will be powered by four MTU 16V4000 diesel engines coupled to ZF gearboxes driving Hamilton HT810 Waterjets. Full load service speed for the dynamic positioning class-2 vessels will be 25 knots. Three Hydromaster tunnel bow thrusters will provide manoeuvrability for docking and unloading of cargo and personnel. Two of the main engines will be coupled to 1,200 m3/hr firefighting pumps offering FiFi-1 capability.

Construction of the new vessels is well underway at Lita Ocean, with deliveries taking place in 2024 and 2025.

In February, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund acquired a 40% stake in Zamil Offshore Services. The Saudi sovereign wealth fund’s investment is aimed at backing the expansion of Zamil Offshore’s services and fleet, which already controls about 90 vessels in the Gulf.

Zamil Offshore has two joint ventures, including Zamil Mermaid – which provides subsea diving services – and SBS Oceanics, which offers maintenance, modification and upgrade services for offshore platforms.

Lita Ocean and Incat Crowther teamed up on a series of three newbuild 33-m crewboats for NSW Nakilat SvitzerwijsMuller. Those boats serve as wellhead maintenance and crew transfer vessels for QatarEnergy. The Singapore shipbuilder also delivered the 23-m workboats NSW Hassa and NSW Huwailah to NSW Nakilat SvitzerwijsMuller for Qatar this year.

Princess Cruises Sets New GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title for World’s Largest Pizza Party at Multiple Venues with Hungry Guests Devouring More Than 60,000 Slices of Pizza!

The love boat line celebrates new partnership with 13-time world pizza champion chef tony gemignani. best pizza at sea about to get even better..

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 12, 2024) – In celebration of a new partnership with Chef Tony Gemignani, the 13-time World Pizza Champion and the undisputed greatest pizza maker in modern history, Princess Cruises, recognized for the Best Pizza at Sea, today established a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Title for “World’s Largest Pizza Party” at multiple venues aboard its fleet of Love Boats with hungry guests devouring more than 60,000 slices of fresh-from-the-oven pizza prepared by the line’s master chefs.

Chef Gemignani has created two pizzas exclusively for Princess, each with an exciting blend of savory flavors and premium ingredients from Soppressata sausage and hot honey to agave pesto and fresh goat cheese. He also provided recipes for three of his signature, award-winning pizzas, further enhancing the line’s position as offering the Best Pizza at Sea.

“There was great excitement on board as Princess Cruises set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the World’s Largest Pizza Party at multiple venues,” said Callie Smith, Adjudicator from Guinness World Records.

Chef Gemignani’s recipes will initially debut at Alfredo’s onboard the new Sun Princess, adding to the greatest assembly of culinary experiences at sea, with plans to extend to the rest of the fleet this summer. Chef Gemignani personally trained Princess chefs at his famous Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco and onboard Princess ships, ensuring all five pizzas are thoughtfully prepared to replicate his original, hand-crafted pizzas at sea.

Chef Gemignani is the most decorated pizzaiolo in American history, an award-winning chef, restaurateur, master instructor, philanthropist, founder of Slice House by Tony Gemignani, and author of PIZZA , The Pizza Bible , and The Pursuit of Pizza . Born and raised in Northern California, he opened his first restaurant in San Francisco in 2009 – Tony’s Pizza Napoletana – offering several styles of pizzas including Classic American, Italian, Sicilian and Neapolitan, artfully made with artisan flours, an array of authentic sauces, and seasonal ingredients, and finished in seven different, regionally-specific ovens. The restaurant was met with immediate success upon opening and was named the best pizzeria by USA Today and top pizza restaurant by the Travel Channel.

“Princess is about delivering great experiences and there is no more important element than Pizza. While Princess has long been known for have the best pizza at sea, we decided to take it up an entirely new level with legendary Tony Gemignani and also set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title in the process,” said John Padgett, Princess President. “Tony is the ‘GOAT’ with unparalleled world championships, expertise and passion for crafting the perfect pizza.”

Over the course of his career, Chef Gemignani has achieved 13 World Pizza Champions, two-time Food Network Gold Medalist, four GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles/records and opened more than 30 restaurants. He’s appeared on multiple reality television series including “Food Network Challenge,” “Bar Rescue” and appeared on the Master Class GOAT series, The Travel Channel and CNN. https://tonygemignani.com/

“Princess is the original Love Boat and its magnificent ships are known to all the world,” said Chef Gemignani. “Bringing my original recipe hand-crafted pizzas inspired by the destinations Princess visits, to the world-class line up of culinary offerings onboard their ships is not only exciting but an honor.”

The new Chef Gemignani-designed pizzas will take center stage at Alfredo’s and Gigi’s specialty pizzerias, charming, sit-down venues offering an enticing menu of freshly prepared, individual-size pizzas, salads, wine and beer and more, and voted “Best Pizza at Sea” by USA Today, as well as the complimentary Slice locations found on the Lido Deck of Princess ships.

Princess is now a two-time GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title/record holder having broken a Guinness World Record for hosting the largest marriage vow renewal ceremony in multiple venues on 11 February 2020 after 1,443 couples participated onboard three ships. Similarly, Chef Gemignani, who was part of the previous record for “World’s Largest Pizza Party” set in 2023, is now a four-time Guinness World Record holder, including “World’s Longest Pizza,” “Most People Tossing Pizza Dough at Once,” “Largest Pizza Base Spun in Two Minutes,” and “Most Consecutive Pizza Rolls Across the Shoulders in 30 Seconds.”
