Five stars 4 all of the people living on their boats, they are some of the best bunch of people I have ever known. The Harbor Master staff it's wonderful. They actually came to my boat to check on me when they had not seen me in a while. We've been here five years and we love it Two stars for the yacht club, a small social clique that doesn't offer much in the way of people skills or camaraderie. After paying a huge fee for 1 year membership you get to hang out with cranky and unhappy people drinking overpriced liquor. It was a great place to hang out back when my father was alive 20 years ago. The attitudes of many of the members, especially the ones in charge left a sour taste in my mouth. There are a handful of fine people if you are lucky enough to be there when they are. I am very critical of this place that my father loved so much before he passed away. I do not recommend wasting your time there.
I have attended many weddings, New Year's celebrations, birthday parties, and graduations at this place for over 15 years and I can honestly say, THE OYSTER POINT YACHT CLUB caterer/event planner knows how to throw a great venue. Don't listed to Chae M. Read Bill F's review... he knows the REAL truth behind what Chae is saying. TRUST ME!
Here's a sample of a recent wedding reception OPYC. So elegant!
Re; Dominic's at the Oyster Point Yacht Club, memorial Saturday, March 30, 2019. Food good. Service very good. Bar very good. The line for bar service line was out the door at times, bartenders Dayna and Chevone were efficient and courteous.
I have a friend who's sailboat is kept here. OK, calling my sister a friend is a stretch. We were invited to a party which my sister and her hubby hosted in the club house here. The club house has a fully equipped kitchen and a great bar (if you don't mind well drinks). It is kept very clean and because of it's isolated location, it doesn't get any random foot traffic. Great if you are trying to avoid riff-raff, like the majority of my friends. According to her, the club fees are reasonable, compared to other yacht clubs in the area, I can't really say, I don't own a boat. The facilities are very clean, which always gets kudos in my book (especially when I get stuck in the kitchen doing all of the work!). Plus the members get spiffy plastic name badges... that's cool.
I went to Oyster Point for a Sunday Breakfast, and It is still Delish. My father devoured the eggs benedict and said they are the best he's ever had. Me, I am a sausage and egg kind of girl. They were done to perfection. It's a beautiful place, yet informal and casual and homey. The bar serves up some great fizzes, too.
Note to Chae M. My intent isn't to be mean, but you've heard the saying " You get what you pay for", right? You might want to turn your review towards your friends, rather than on OPYC. I've been to many of OPYC's dinners as a guest, and I have planned at least 5 of my families' major events here. We have had LARGE guest lists of over 100 people for these events. I've been to OPYC for funeral services, birthday celebrations, Anniversaries, Weddings, Baby Parties, Christmas Parties.. I think you get my drift. Tutti is the caterer; and until a few years ago had been exclusive to Oyster Point Yacht Club. I know when Tutti consults about your party, she puts together a "Package". You pick how much you want to spend, you pick your decorations, you pick your food. You advise of the number of people attending. The staff works around you. If you blow the staff out of the water with unexpected guests, lines should be expected. Have fun at the hotel for your daughter's party. Compare costs with your friends, then come back here, if you think you need to rebut Oyster Point, and ruin their wonderful reputation, ok? thanks.
Our Wedding and Rehearsal Dinner was held at Oyster Point Yacht Club in July. It was remarkable. There were about 100 guests, and the ceremony took place on the Deck with a view of the docks. The dinner was catered by Tuti, and it was magnificent. Tuti, her husband and Sharon took care of all of the decorations, table setup, food and drink. It looked fabulous, it tasted scrumptious, and guests raved. The band was terrific, the bar was fully stocked, and we laughed, danced, talked, ate and drank the day away all too quickly. I've had several other celebrations at this club, and one thing I am so impressed with is Tuti's consistency. She's one amazing cook. The facility is quite nice. It's got everything you'd want... It's very inviting, welcoming and warm. My guests tell me they enjoyed the variety of beer available on tap. I'm sure your guests will find it impressive, but not pretentious. It's got a chic-casual feel and you just can't stop admiring the location. Perched on the point, the views of the docks, and the bay are stunning.
The location is great but the venue itself is starting to show it's age. A remodel wouldn't be a bad idea. The food was pretty good--the host ordered filet mignon for all of us. Quite a few (including mine) were sent back because they were very rare. There is a definite local vibe about this place. I think if you know that going in, then you would know what to expect.
I attended a relatives birthday party there which was for a kid. His 1st!..good thing he won't remember it! Decor was out dated not to mentioned service is awful. seems like they were trying to cut cost. It looked like the chef did not want anyone to help her out which had two long lines. by the time our food came out not only was it near the restroom area it tasted terrible. She needs to throw in the towel and stop cooking. seriously Im not trying to put anyone down but seriously someone needs to hire a real chef. Bartender was extremely slow not to memtioned dirty glasses. seems like they didn't have enough utensils we went from real plates to plastic. The only one thing I could say was that some of the women there were really nice. But they need to get some new blood in there and more help and hire a real chef. Sorry Im thinkg they need Restaurants Impossible to do a complete makeover. I said I would attend my nephews party and see if this is a good place to have my daughters birthday party but after seeing what I just saw I'm definitely going to a hotel.

Green Point beach near Yamba littered with debris after abandoned boat runs aground
A remote beach near Yamba on the New South Wales north coast is littered with debris and diesel after a boat ran aground and was smashed to pieces in the surf overnight.
Witnesses said the boat was abandoned by its occupants as they were attempting to cross the Clarence River bar around lunchtime on Monday.
NSW Road and Maritime said the occupants were evacuated from the vessel by a NSW Marine Rescue crew.
Angourie resident Oli Coe said he later saw the vessel adrift about 2 kilometres offshore.
He watched the boat throughout the day and at one point saw another vessel alongside it.
He said someone boarded vessel and put out its anchor.
"As the wind got up through the rest of the afternoon, we watched the boat drifting and dragging on its anchor and eventually it just dragged way too far and ended up on the beach," Mr Coe said.
At one stage Mr Coe and two friends used jetskis to get out to the boat to see if they could do anything to help.
He said he could not understand why it was not salvaged before it ran aground near Green Point.
"There was definitely some damage to the boat but it was in perfectly good condition [before that]," Mr Coe said.
Clean-up concerns
Locals spent Tuesday morning on the beach, dragging piles of debris above the high tide mark in a bid to ensure it is not taken back out to sea with the next high tide on Tuesday evening.
Angourie resident Kim Wood said the usually pristine beach at Green Point looked like a "rubbish dump".
"I'm looking at kilometres of debris," she said.
"There is timber, there is oil cans, jerry cans full of diesel, so much plastic, and everything is soaked in diesel.
"You can still see all debris in the ocean."
Ms Wood said the area was home to a wide range of birdlife including oyster catchers and curlews.
Too dangerous to tow
NSW Maritime said the boat was deemed too dangerous for authorities to board or tow.
Senior boating safety officer Bret Ryan said authorities needed to put safety first.
"Marine Rescue revisited the boat several times on Monday, and eventually the Water Police came from Coffs Harbour," Mr Ryan said.
"They came to the same conclusion that it was too dangerous."
"At that point the vessel was secure and the hope was it would remain in that position but unfortunately that didn't happen."
Mr Ryan said the main hazard on the beach was from any sharp objects that might remain buried in the sand.
