The third season of hit reality TV series Below Deck went from strength to strength boasting the best ratings yet over 15 episodes with 49m/161ft ‘EROS’, real name luxury yacht STAY SALTY .

STAY SALTY superyacht – star of the season three of the Below Deck series

Built by US shipyard Trinity Yachts in 2008, the Owners of M/Y STAY SALTY  (ex Hunter, Mustang Sally, Destination Fox Harb’r Too)  made sure she was also looking her best and received a refit just before filming began in August 2015. The gorgeous interiors combine past and present trends, and the facilities are just as comprehensive, catering to a wide variety of guests.

The Interiors

The interiors from Patrick Knowles were inspired by European spa resorts and are designed to appeal for a variety of charter purposes. As such, they offer laid back elegance that merges traditional and contemporary appeal by using Lacewood, Redwood burl and Honduran mahogany accented with satin nickel. A sharp eye will notice all the neo-classical touches throughout, from the mirror surrounds to the balustrades and the lighting fixtures.

When it comes to entertainment both the main salon and skylounge can host a fantastic soiree: There is a wet bar on both decks and the main salon has a 42″ widescreen TV with surround sound, while the skylounge has a 62″ widescreen TV along with a game table and a library. Of course, the main salon also comes with the 12-seater formal dining area.

A pair of engines gives a faster-than-average cruising speed of 16 knots and a top speed of 20 knots, letting guests make excellent time between destinations for a yacht of this size and volume.

The Exteriors

The raked bow and champagne-coloured hull give superyacht hunter a sleek modern look that will impress from afar and when additional visitors come on board for dockside events. Cocktails can be ready and waiting on the large swim platform, which is perfect for lazy days beside the turquoise waters of the Caribbean & Bahamas luxury yacht charter grounds.

Spacious aft deck are ideal for entertainment and socialising

The main deck aft is a casual outdoor environment where the group can discuss their morning around the coffee table while the professional crew creates refreshments at the indoor/outdoor wet bar.

When it comes to dining alfresco, the upper deck aft has a close atmosphere between guests thanks to the round table design, and strong lighting ensures that the area can be used even after sundown – ideal for meals at sunset followed by fireworks, or a film or sports on the widescreen TV. The group can savour a top-quality meal prepared by the expert onboard chef, who will cater to all the dietary requirements within the group. Couples looking for a bit more privacy can head forward to the loveseat on the Portuguese deck, where there’s also a table for meals together or a nightcap.

Once charter guests have explored their beautiful destination, most head to the sundeck for a dip into the forward Jacuzzi or rest on the sunpads until a lunch prepared on the barbeque grill is served in the shade. Just like the main deck and upper deck, the sundeck has a wet bar for fast and efficient service. 

The Accommodation

The generous accommodation is a tranquil sanctum that accommodates up to 12 guests across 5 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 3 VIP staterooms and 1 twin cabin with a Pullman berth ideal for children.

Upon entering the main deck Master suite there is a queen-sized sleeper sofa and en-suite bathroom enclosed in its own space. This can be used as an alternative cabin to the selection on the lower deck, or as a private lounge. The main Master bedroom farther forward boasts a king-sized bed with a widescreen TV opposite, plus plenty of seating and wardrobe space for guests who have a packed social calendar and a different gown or suit for each occasion. The en-suites have a ‘get-up-and-go’ setup in the one bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower, while the second bathroom invites guests to a long soak in the spa bathtub, as well as offering all the amenities of the first.

Guests in the VIP staterooms and the twin cabin have not been neglected either: Each cabin has a top-quality mattress and bedding, plus TV entertainment to wind down before a comfortable night’s rest.

The Water Toys

Wherever M/YSTAY SALTY travels, she takes with her a great collection of water toys from high speed to low energy to suit guests’ preferences of the moment:

Owner of classic sailing yacht Eros reveals the reality of life on board

Ever wondered what it’s really like to cruise on board a classic superyacht? The owner and crew of 35 metre Eros have now given viewers an inside look with a new series of YouTube videos detailing life on board the charter yacht.

First delivered in 1939 by Brook Marine , the wooden schooner boasts a colourful history and has retained many of the original, classic interior features.

The sailing yacht was formerly owned by Greek shipping tycoon Stavros Niarchos and was once chartered by the former King of Spain Juan Carlos I during his royal honeymoon. Having been meticulously maintained with a refit in 2016, Eros can now welcome up to 10 charter guests on board.

To give prospective charterers and classic yacht enthusiasts a closer look inside the superyacht, owner Cameron Riddell has created a series of YouTube videos to document day-to-day excitement and activities on board. 

Offering winter cruises in the Caribbean and summer season charters around New England, Eros is “an amazing platform for a lot of great things to happen” comments Riddell, describing “sailing races, family trips, charters and crossing oceans” as some of the opportunities offered on board.

The first episode of Sailing Eros gives viewers a virtual tour of the yacht and introduces members of the crew. Following episodes document the sailing and regatta experience on board, show how repairs are conducted on a classic yacht, and feature clips and highlights from previous cruises.

For charterers keen to know more about the classic yachting experience and what Eros has to offer from toys to itineraries, the videos offer valuable insight and insider knowledge from those who know her best.

How Much Is it to Charter the Eros Yacht from Below Deck?

On Season 3 of Below Deck , the crew catered to guests on board the Eros , a 161-foot luxury yacht, which will take the cast and some well-heeled guess Bahamas. The Eros has high-end pleasures like an on-deck jacuzzi and a gym. Like previous years, Below Deck representatives changed the name of the actual yacht for the show.

Below Deck’s Eros is actually called Mustang Sally.The ship also offers guests water toys like a wave runner, water skis, snorkeling equipment, and scuba diving equipment.

When it is not being filmed on Below Deck, Mustang Sally charters for about $192,000 per week in the summer and about $175,000 in the winter.

Great crew, Outstanding yacht.

Though I’ve thought all the Yachts were nice, I’d have to say the EROS is probably a favorite. The layout is so much different than the others.

I was thinking how amazingly fun it would be to work on this yacht….then I thought HELL NO!!! I want to be a pampered guest on that boat, surrounded by an amazing and super fun crew!!! It would be a once in a lifetime trip!!!! I would love my whole family (which is very small) to join me for pure rest & relaxation and tons of fun; with no worries at all… But DAAA’UUUMMM……it is so dang freaking expensive to rent this yacht for a week. I am not that wealthy, so it’s unlikely I’ll ever be able to afford an type of vacation on this gorgeous be z

Us poor peeps can only hope to win the give away Cruz on that boat for the week…

One day I will be able to take a trip on this yacht or spend a week on this yaht, when that day comes I’ll know I won the lotto…lol

I don’t get it. What’ s so special about a yacht? $200,000 and for what?

WoW!! I only wish that I were related to the Real House Wife celeb, Ms. Bailey. What a blessing to grab a few best friends and even just enjoy a weekend at sea…….now that would make me very happy. I will be looking for that “Eros Cruise Contest” as well.

I thought it would fun to get 10 friends and split the cost until I checked into the prices. Wow, I can pay my house off for the amount of money they are asking. I watch the show and I have not been impressed with the food the chef serves, the entertainment, an employee dressing up as a mermaid?? and some water toys. Add another 10000.00 or more for the tip at the end of the week. Maybe when I hit the lotto!

The actual Below Deck yacht is available to charter in Miami area for anyone that has the money.

I would NEVER charter the Eros after seeing the show ‘Below Deck’ & seeing how the crew mock the quests publicly on camera! How rude & unprofessional!

Eros READ LISTING DISCLAIMER

Schooner 'EROS' is a classic beauty built in England in 1939 for the daughter and son-in-law of a British Lord.

She was very soon after commandeered by the Royal Navy to participate in the famous evacuation at Dunkirk. After the war she became the private yacht of the first man internationally known as a billionaire, Stavros Niarchos, and she became well known in the Mediterranean yachting community. Her present owners acquired her in 1992 and have just completed a museum quality restoration, no expenses spared!

'Eros' comfortably accomodates up to eight guests in four double cabins. The usual toys are aboard for amusing oneself when at anchor: small boats suitable for sailing, paddling or skiing, snorkeling gear and dive boat, plasma TV, piano, hammocks - the list goes on!

When money is no object, the Eros crew can arrange for you to have the ultimate toy aboard - one of Graham Hawke's deep flight submersibles along with a qualified instructor.

The professional crew of five includes a very experienced Captain and gourmet chef. Guests can swing in a hammock sipping a tropical drink, swim to the beach, or gather around the helm for another of Bill's remarkable sea stories. You are also welcome to take the helm and help hoist the sails if you wish.

Accommodation

EROS can accommodate 8 guests in 4 cabins. The Master cabin has a queen size bed, bath/tub, shower and toilet. 2 Guest cabins have 2 pullmans, shower and toilet. A VIP cabin has a double bed, shower and toilet. EROS is fully air conditioned through out. This is a non-smoking vessel. EROS´s crew has a separate heads and shower. Guests are not allowed to bring pets onboard.

About Luxury Classic Sailing Yacht EROS: Luxury Crewed charter yacht EROS is one of the most luxurious classic schooner sailing yachts in the world at this moment in time.   Available for fully customised private yacht charter cruises in the East Caribbean and NEW England, she was designed for an English Lord’s daughter. Apart from genuine classic cruising offer, this fabulous super sail yacht promises luxury performance sailing as well. Luxury sailing yacht EROS has a unique history. She was built as a schooner, a genuine classic beauty in England back in 1939. The order came from top of the establishment for the daughter and son-in-law of a British Lord. Soon after her launch, EROS was very soon commandeered by the Royal Navy to participate in the famous evacuation at Dunkirk as part of WW2 efforts. In late 1940’s she was purchased by the first man internationally known as a billionaire, Stavros Niarchos, who made her his own private floating palace and helping her become a well-known super sail yacht in the Mediterranean yachting community. Her present owners acquired her in 1992 with the latest, museum quality restoration, with no expenses spared completed only recently! During the restoration, the original hull and deck plans were removed allowing reparation or as appropriate replacement of parts of the steel structure. A total of 20,000 bronze bolts were replaced, or renewed, all used to fasten the planks to the steel. Furthermore, the piping, pumps, winches, spars, wiring, electronics and all systems on the yacht were also either replaced or where possible completely overhauled. And while her exterior makes her what she is, the interior is where the genuine connoisseurs of sailing will be at home. The original Art-Deco grandeur of a bygone era is visible throughout with varnished teak joinery, brass fittings and rich, elegant fabrics providing a homely, yet historical atmosphere. The classic nautical theme with suitable artwork plus sofas with specially chosen burgundy velvet hue compliment a first class, classic décor par excellence.

While she has been fitted with all the latest navigation, galley and engine room equipment, she is otherwise restored as she was built. With her original varnished teak joiner work and fittings she is a step back in time evoking the romance and beauty of the Art Deco era from whence she came. The guests will have a total of 3 double and 1 twin cabins at their disposal, with the twin and one double also featuring additional 2 Pullman berths. Super Yacht crew on board of Classic sailing yacht EROS: A graduate at the University of California Medical Centre, Dr Bill Bodle, or captain Bill as he is known by the crew of EROS, is a highly experienced sailor who circumnavigated the world under sail, visited more than 50 countries on the way across all of the Pacific, Atlantic and the Caribbean and entertained heads of state and royalty. He is one of the most experienced sailors in the charter fleets worldwide and an award winning mariner, his work was featured in a number of high profile magazines thanks to his considerable reputation as a builder and restoration man of classic schooner yachts. Amongst other achievements, he is credited with stunning restorations of super sail yachts such as NORDLYS, GRACE, PANDA and now EROS. Bill gladly shares his experiences with all yacht charter guests during regular cocktail hours and aims to form lasting relationships with all who charter one of the museum quality yachts he captains. The remaining crew on board include hard working engineer Wilson Willkom who moved to California from Philippines in 1999 before joining SY EROS and Hawaiian born Chef Joe Lovitt who previously worked as a chef to Food and Wine bar Vino Volo CEO and who is able to prepare unforgettable gourmet meals for you and your guests, taking any dietary requirements into consideration and preparing meals with only freshly sourced out food or caught fish. Luxury Classic sailing yacht EROS (35.1m / 1151’) was launched by English shipyard Brooks Motor Crafts back in 1939.  Always kept in excellent condition, she accommodates up to 8-10 yacht charter guests sleeping in 1 Master suite, 2 VIP double cabins and 2 twin cabins, one of which is convertible into a double, both with an additional Pullman. All cabins are en-suite and feature their own audio and visual entertainment systems. There are always at least 11 super yacht crew members on board including the captain. This charter yacht mainly cruises at speeds of around 9kn and is normally offered for luxury crewed yacht charters within the Mediterranean in summer and East Caribbean in winter months. Her crew are happy to offer ONE WAY or TANDEM charters between other destinations too and on request. Thanks to her V-892 Detroit diesel super yacht engine totalling 1 x 350hp, during the right sea and wind conditions, she can reach maximum speeds of around 15.5kn. Your EROS charter crew includes our Captain, Chef, First Mate, Steward, and Deckhand. All crew members are licensed full-time professionals, certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Their love for sailing is matched by their steadfast commitment to your safety and comfort. Justin Bernhart, Captain Justin Bernhart is a licensed captain with an extensive background in marine safety and charter, as well as tall ship and motor yacht handling. He is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, with experience in search and rescue, and a graduate of the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. He has spent years building and restoring wooden boats on the east and west coasts of North America. He is an experienced offshore sailor and deliveryman, and has been at the helm of various charter and privately-owned vessels, from the 103-foot gaff-rigged AURORA to a 12-meter racing sloop and a 112-foot Westport motor yacht. His credentials include a 500-ton USCG license, advanced firefighting, medical care, and rescue. He is adept at crew training, supervision, and all aspects of yacht management. Jared Frith, First mate Jared started sailing dinghies and other small boats on Lake Dillon near his home in Breckenridge, Colorado. He joined a steel l ketch carrying charter guests between Panama and Colombia through the San Blas Islands and fell in love with sailing and the charter business. From there Jared traveled by land through many different countries, but really missed sailing so he found himself on more yachts, gravitating towards larger and older traditional vessels, mostly schooners. Jared loves wooden yachts, the older the better; he enjoys their character. And he loves sharing time on these yachts with guests that he can teach and form friendships with. He enjoys long sea deliveries, seeing the crew become a team, standing watch and partaking in the ultimate nature outing. In his free time Jared loves spending time in the outdoors and traveling as much as possible. Aimee O'Neil, Deckhand/Stewardess Aimee grew up on the local waters of New England. From an early age she developed a deep love for the ocean. With past experiences in surf instruction, surf rescue, this surfer gone sailor is at home on the water. Her sailing experience began as a child on her father’s boat and working as a deckhand aboard 12 Meter “Heritage”. Her interests also include free diving and astrology. During your time aboard Eros, Aimee will make you feel right at home. Her years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industries and knowledge on deck allow her to deliver a 5-star experience no matter what. She is ecstatic to serve on Eros where she combines all of her passions in one place. Jessica Filkins, Chef Jessica is a yoga teacher, health coach, energy healer, nutritional chef, and entrepreneur. Her highest joy is hosting wellness based adventure retreats. She grew up on Block Island and spent half her childhood home-schooled on a boat in the Bahamas. Jessica studied philosophy, anthropology and psychology at Colorado College. As a chef, Jessica is renowned in her community for the delicious healthy foods and has a gift for bringing amazing people together and facilitating joyful and transformational experiences. Stewardess Eva Tash Eva’s love for sailing began when her parents signed her up for sailing camp while on family vacation in the south of France. She began learning the basics on Hobie cats in France and when back home in New England, on small dinghys her neighbors had. When her family moved to Newport, RI Eva found her home with the high school sailing team where she hit, and excelled through a massive learning curve in the art of racing. Eva competed year round for 4 years, until she started college. During her short time in college, she realized how much she missed sailing, and soon paused her studies to pursue a career in the industry.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, with experience in search and rescue, and a graduate of the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. He has spent years building and restoring wooden boats on the east and west coasts of North America. He is an experienced offshore sailor and deliveryman, and has been at the helm of various charter and privately-owned vessels, from the 103-foot gaff-rigged AURORA to a 12-meter racing sloop and a 112-foot Westport motor yacht. His credentials include a 500-ton USCG license, advanced firefighting, medical care, and rescue. He is adept at crew training, supervision, and all aspects of yacht management.<br /> <br /> Jared Frith, First mate<br /> <br /> Jared started sailing dinghies and other small boats on Lake Dillon near his home in Breckenridge, Colorado. He joined a steel l ketch carrying charter guests between Panama and Colombia through the San Blas Islands and fell in love with sailing and the charter business. From there Jared traveled by land through many different countries, but really missed sailing so he found himself on more yachts, gravitating towards larger and older traditional vessels, mostly schooners. Jared loves wooden yachts, the older the better; he enjoys their character. And he loves sharing time on these yachts with guests that he can teach and form friendships with. He enjoys long sea deliveries, seeing the crew become a team, standing watch and partaking in the ultimate nature outing. In his free time Jared loves spending time in the outdoors and traveling as much as possible.<br /> <br /> Aimee O'Neil, Deckhand/Stewardess<br /> <br /> Aimee grew up on the local waters of New England. From an early age she developed a deep love for the ocean. With past experiences in surf instruction, surf rescue, this surfer gone sailor is at home on the water. Her sailing experience began as a child on her father&rsquo;s boat and working as a deckhand aboard 12 Meter &ldquo;Heritage&rdquo;. Her interests also include free diving and astrology. During your time aboard Eros, Aimee will make you feel right at home. Her years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industries and knowledge on deck allow her to deliver a 5-star experience no matter what. Her highest joy is hosting wellness based adventure retreats. She grew up on Block Island and spent half her childhood home-schooled on a boat in the Bahamas. Jessica studied philosophy, anthropology and psychology at Colorado College. As a chef, Jessica is renowned in her community for the delicious healthy foods and has a gift for bringing amazing people together and facilitating joyful and transformational experiences. <br /> <br /> <br /> Stewardess Eva Tash<br /> <br /> Eva&rsquo;s love for sailing began when her parents signed her up for sailing camp while on family vacation in the south of France. She began learning the basics on Hobie cats in France and when back home in New England, on small dinghys her neighbors had. When her family moved to Newport, RI Eva found her home with the high school sailing team where she hit, and excelled through a massive learning curve in the art of racing. Eva competed year round for 4 years, until she started college. As summer reaches its peak across the Northern Hemisphere, it’s hard to imagine a better way of spending a vacation than channeling your inner ship captain and sailing across the ocean.

In recent years, yacht companies have reported a boom in sales — far from the decline that many in the industry feared, due to both the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic realities of the Russia-Ukraine War.

“I spent my days [in 2020] doing worst-case scenarios and drawing up the budgets to go with them,” Giovanna Vitelli, chairwoman of Azimut|Benetti, the world’s largest yacht manufacturer, told the Economist in 2023.

Instead, her company reported a 23% growth in production value in 2023 —a reality that is not unique to just one yacht manufacturer. The luxury yacht market is expected to grow in value from $7.67 billion in 2023 to $17.33 billion by 2032, according to a recent report from Fortune Business Insights .

Analysts attribute the ships’ rise in popularity to the increasing number of extremely wealthy individuals . Yachts have long been considered a status symbol — a reality that has only increased as wealth becomes concentrated in the hands of a small group of high status individuals .

Aside from an increase in popularity, the yacht industry has seen other changes in recent years. Increasingly, those in the market for a luxury ship are turning to alternate means of powering their vessels, as critics point to the excess emissions traditional yachts produce simply for recreational use.

In their 2024 report, Fortune Business Insights highlighted the growing trend of electrification as a significant area of growth in the coming years.

“A tough regulatory environment for traditional yachts and rising fuel prices will pave the way for the solid growth of electric yachts in the future,” the report reads. “Huge investments from various manufacturers and government support measures will accelerate the demand for electric yachts.”

Carinthia VII

Originally constructed in 2002, the award-winning Carinthia VII was recently remodeled and reimagined specifically for private charters. The 319-foot ship spans six decks and can accommodate up to 12 guests in eight staterooms. Among the ship’s amenities are two bars, a fully equipped gym and an outdoor projection screen that allows for an “immersive cinematic experience like no other.” The cost of chartering the Carinthia VII is $1,525,700 during both the winter and summer seasons.

The Lady S yacht boasts a number of exciting water toys, including jet skis, water skis, wakeboards and kayaks for athletic guests on the 305-foot ship. For those who prefer more indoor-oriented activities, however, you can also catch a film on the ship’s IMAX Dolby cinema — the first of its kind on any yacht in the world. Accommodating 12 guests, in seven cabins, the cost of chartering the Lady S begins at $1,743,328 a week.

The interior of the Ahpo yacht seems more reminiscent of a luxury hotel than a simple ship. Accommodating 16 guests and 36 crew members, the vessel features a full-size gym, a winter garden and a spa complete with a Himalayan salt sauna. The 378-foot long yacht was first manufactured in 2021 by the German shipyard Lürssen. Excited sailors can charter the Ahpo from superyacht broker Edmiston, beginning at $2,833,376 a week.

500EXP Para Bellum

This 154-foot-long yacht can accommodate up to 12 travelers in its six cabins, along with up to 10 crew members. The ship was specially designed to enable “guests a 360-degree experience and relationship with the sea” through its unique stern and sundeck that allow travelers to safely stand “almost at sea level,” according to its Italian manufacturer San Lorenzo . Interested travelers can rent the ship for $359,609 a week.

The Renaissance

The Renaissance lives up to its grandiose name by going beyond traditional private yachts and bridging the gap between a personal vehicle and a full-on cruise ship. The 367-foot long ship features five decks and can accommodate 36 guests in 19 cabins. The Renaissance’s amenities include a 19-seat movie theater, a sushi-bar, and a full spa deck featuring a wellness area, plunge pools and a hair salon. The cost of chartering the ship from Burgess Yachts ranges from $3,269,280 to $3,814,160 a week.
