Watch Lil Yachty Playfully Troll Funny Marco About Bobbi Althoff Having ‘Completely Obliterated Your Existence'

The short but impactful clip sees Yachty summarizing Althoff's recent rise, all while pressing Marco to admit his jealousy.

Lil Yachty playfully roasts Funny Marco over Bobbi Althoff ’s viral success in a new clip from an upcoming conversation.

In the clip seen below, Yachty asks Marco if he was “jealous” that the Really Good Podcast personality had “surpassed” and “completely obliterated” him. Worth noting, of course, is that Marco appeared on Althoff's show earlier this year . That very interview, notably, was later referenced by Yachty in his own discussion with Althoff.

"Were you jealous that she just surpassed you and completely obliterated your existence?" Yachty asked, followed by an extended pause only broken when Marco offered up a halfhearted "Nah" in response.

From there, Yachty continued prodding Marco about Althoff’s rise by theorizing that he likely “stopped at this little white girl’s house” and thought “nothing of it.” In fact, Yachty said, he likely expected to not get more than 5,000 views.

“Turns out, she gets 10 million-plus views,” Yachty said. “I’m talking about 500,000 extra followers. Drake, me. … I mean, the list goes on. She’s turnt.”

Yachty added that he had actually just spoken with Althoff, though he declined to reveal the name of someone important with whom she had just scored a meeting.

“You sitting here right now, no shoes on, socks are dirty, got $20 in your pocket and you mean to tell me that you wasn’t jealous in any type of way?” Yachty added.

Naturally, the clip was further boosted by a somber piano-driven soundtrack. See more below. As for Marco’s take, he joked in the caption that he’s “got words” for Yachty after this exchange.

Yachty’s Field Trip Tour is now in progress and will soon hit Austin, Nashville, San Diego, and a ton more cities in the weeks ahead. In fact, Yachty was initially slated to give SXSW attendees in Austin a special performance back in March before ( as documented here ) some decidedly Texan weather intervened and forced an abrupt cancelation.

How Lil Yachty got whole world wailing with Poland

10 Songs that defined 2022: The rapper’s ode to cough syrup started as a joke. It ended up being his biggest hit.

If you wanted a snapshot of how hits are minted in 2022, you could do worse than listen to Lil Yachty’s Poland . Little more than a sketch, a sound effect, a meme – and strikingly brief at a shade over 80 seconds – it’s also one of the year’s biggest songs, clocking just shy of 100 million streams in the two months since its release.

Recorded as a joke, then leaked, then uploaded by Yachty to Soundcloud (caption: ​ “ STOP LEAKING MY SHIT”) in October, it was soon followed by a  video shot by Cole Bennett of coveted rap platform Lyrical Lemonade.

Not long after that, it was everywhere.

The Bee Gees may have started a joke that had the whole world crying , but Lil Yachty started one that had the whole world wailing. Wailing, specifically, about taking a bottle of intoxicating cough syrup to Eastern Europe. ​ “ It’s funny that people like this song,” a somewhat bemused Yachty told YouTuber Zik ​ “ ZIAS” Asiegbu. The song isn’t finished, but that doesn’t matter: it’s been remade and reimagined thousands of times over on TikTok already.

Its appeal lies somewhere in the uncanny valley of the chorus – those chilly, cyber, vibrato, shape-shifting synth lines – and the epic but scuzzy beat courtesy of F1lthy, a producer who’s also crafted synth-heavy songs by rage rap stars Playboi Carti and Yeat. It helps that it’s mostly hook, too. The solitary verse – more breather than stanza, rapped with a comedown shiver – is haunted by the ghostly, nonsensical refrain.

It’s also strikingly of its time in the sense that its enormous success (eclipsing pretty much everything Yachty’s done since he broke big with his whimsical brand of mumble rap in 2017) was both totally unpredictable and unplanned: a spark of inane inspiration catching a TikTok tailwind and pulling everyone from Steve Lacy to Cardi B into its orbit.

This is what it sounds like when the line between meme and song dissolves. Meaning and time evaporate, and all that’s left is irony. Despite being hailed ( let’s say ironically ) by Poles as a defining moment in the nation’s history, and garnering comment from a spokesperson for the Polish embassy in Washington, D.C. ( if not an actual invite to visit from the Prime Minister), Yachty was actually singing about a bottle of spring water from Maine, New England when he came up with the hook. But the whole world sang along with him anyway.

Lil Yachty Joins Sean Garrett for “Look on Your Face” Video Shoot

Late last year, Lil Yachty teamed up with Sean Garrett for a single called " Look on Your Face ." Since then, the track has racked up 500,000 streams on Spotify alone. It appears the song will get an extra boost soon because Lil Boat and Garrett linked up once again to shoot a music video for the record.

You can view some pictures of the "Look on Your Face" video shoot above. The final photo in the above gallery comes from the studio session in which the single was created. As the video shoot photos show, Yachty is proudly repping the Nautica brand, which he now works for as a creative designer .

“Nautica is like a part of me,” Yachty said. “It’s for kids, sailors, grown men and cool people.  The designs — the old designs, the new designs, I think it’s dope. There’s not really much out there like Nautica.”

The Atlanta rapper will be designing capsule collections and appearing in the brand's advertising campaigns. Yachty already finished his first gig for Nautica by appearing in their latest promotional video .

“We are excited to be collaborating with Lil Yachty this year,” Nautica president Karen Murray said. “He is much more than just a music artist. He is a creative soul. His innate passion and affinity for the brand, fabulous taste level and the way he looks in our clothes, make him the perfect partner for the Nautica brand.”

Yachty's business ventures may be expanding, but he's still an artist first. The "Minnesota" rapper will be heading to Europe in February for his latest tour in addition to working on his debut album .

HBO’s Chillin Island debuts today (Dec. 17) on the streaming platform. The new unscripted series follows a group of rappers as they journey into the deserts and swamps of nature.

Chillin Island is executive produced by Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie and his production partner Sebastian Bear-MCClard. Management company and entertainment group, DreamCrew, developed by Drake and Adel Future Nur are also on board.

The nature series is inspired by a radio show, described as “Howard Stern if he was on K” and variety web series created by Alec Reinstein and Ashok Kondabolu of “Das Racist.” The six-part series follows the trio as they invite their rapper friends to join them at the edge of nature. The show challenges the group to commune in nature’s greatest deserts and swamps, revealing the truths of a shared human existence.

Chillin Island features artists Young Thug , Lil Yachty, Rasalía, Gunna , Killer Mike, Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Tecca, Coi Leray and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koening.

Executive Vice President of HBO Programming’s Nina Rosenstein shared a statement about the exciting and adventurous show with Deadline .

“There’s been an explosion of really inventive TV produced over the past few years, but nothing can prepare you for Chillin Island,” Rosenstein shares. “It’s a brilliant mix of offbeat observations and weirdly funny revelations built around three unconventional hosts, some well-known rappers, and exotic locations. It’s quirky, irreverent, and at times, profound.”

The series is narrated by Steven Wright and directed By Xander Robin, Samuel Shainberg, John Paul Lopez-Ali and Audrey Turner. The HBO Max series is executive produced by Reinstein, Bear-McClard, Safdie, Oscar Boyson, Nur, Jason Shrier, Anthony Gonzales and co-executive produced by Dave Laven and Matte Babel It is also executive produced by Dawn Ostroff, Courtney William Holt and Liz Gately from Spotify.
