I recently had the pleasure of attending a wedding at Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the breathtaking views of the ocean, which were made even more spectacular by the venue's open windows, allowing guests to soak in the serene beauty of the surrounding waters. The service at Isla Del Sol was top-notch, particularly at the bars. The bartenders were not only prompt but also incredibly friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. It's worth mentioning the open bar selection, which was extensive and catered to all tastes, ensuring that everyone found something they loved. The food was another highlight of the evening. The appetizers were delicious and had everyone talking, but it was the dinner that truly stole the show. Each dish was a delight, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavors that left a lasting impression. The reception area itself was impressive in size, offering ample space for guests to mingle comfortably. The dance floor was spacious, allowing a large number of guests to dance and enjoy themselves without feeling cramped. The addition of multiple bar areas, including one outside, was a thoughtful touch, ensuring that guests didn't have to wait long for a drink. One of the most memorable aspects of the evening was the use of sparklers inside the venue. It added a fun and festive element to the reception, creating a magical atmosphere that was perfect for photographs. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this was done safely and was not considered a fire hazard. We just had a fantastic neighborhood Holiday party at Isla. The food and service were wonderful. What a yummy buffet of Prime rib carving station, mashed potatoe bar, pasta bar and desserts they provided for everyone to feast on. Melissa the catering Events Coordinator was a pleasure to work with.

A true gem of a club. The golf course is fun to play and the pool has the best views of Boca Ciega Bay. The gym unfortunately is small and I wish they had a few classes like spin, zumba. Pilates. But the ladies do have many active groups to join. They do need to get pickle ball and bocce courts to make this country club top rating. It will always get a 5 star rating because of the amazing views while you are dining.

Was looking to buy in the area and join but after staying with a friend. While I was there I witnessed the character of the members while playing golf. There were numerous that were just obnoxious and loud. They were playing music loudly and yelling obscenities. I also witnessed people drop or throw paper on the ground and not bother to pick it up. I've seen better manners and etiquette on public courses.

The Pool Bar offers a great grouper sandwich and a nice view on the water. Six of us had drinks and dinner outside on a perfect sunset evening. The menu offers mainly burgers and salads and has a full bar. It closes at 7:30 pm so get there early.

Isla Del Sol is a great track located right on the water before St. Pete Beach. The employees are always very kind and they definitely care about the course. Isla includes a free practice range, nice carts and a decent sized putting green. The course can be challenging if you're finding the hazards but there are a lot of easier holes and short par 4s if you're a long hitter. Their fairways are in my top 3 within Pinellas county. If you're not a good putter, I would recommend putting for 15-30 minutes before your tee time. These greens are FAST but they roll true.

Waterfront View

Not a bad place to play golf.. While away my golf pro arranged for me to play here.. Pros: greens are exceptional and true (fast) - men's clubhouse - clean... chuck was nice in the locker room... Cons: Tee Boxes please manicure this area.. I felt like I was tee'n off the fairway because the boxes were not mowed. Overall for winter the course was in good shape.. I'd definitely play when in Clearwater area... not too bad of a drive - the Grill in the property was okay..

I can easily speak to the calibre of the golf course. When my pop came in from the west coast the man said he wanted to swing the clubs a few times and had this place on speed dial at the recommendation of a friend. The course is well tended to and the pace of play is casual. Greens were in great condition (read: fast) and there was plenty of diversity between the par 5's and 3's to give your bag a workout.

As a former member of their yacht club I want to recommend them to anyone looking to join such an organization. The folks at Isla del Sol are the best! They have both yacht and golf/tennis memberships. The clubhouse is outstanding with an excellent restaurant. The pool is awesome, and the poolside bar was my favorite hangout while I was there. Their marina has what has to be the most beautiful views of Boca Ciega Bay. The only drawback is that because the marina kinda "sticks out" into the bay, the boats alongside the far wall get the best views but also all the rocking from the wakes of inconsiderate boaters who cruise by with no regard to the no-wake signs. The location is also very good, close to what I think is the best sushi in Tampa Bay (Tokyo Bay Restaurant) and they are just a few miles from Fort De Soto. That whole area is just gorgeous. When I retire, this is where I'm coming to live. I never played golf or tennis, as I was only a yacht club member. For reasons unrelated to the club I decided to dock my boat closer to Tampa, but I can say I was very sad the day we had to leave. I highly recommend these folks as they are as good as it gets!

Yuck this place sucks! Its full of rude snooty people! I went there once and a worker was being a jerk! He told me to take off my hat but he said it in a rude way. Also wen I went it was raining off and on so they had a snail problem! I don't think people want to see snails climbing up and down a wall while pulling up to this snooty club. Over all this place is a horrible place!

I have been here golfing three times with friends and we absolutely love this course. It's a great layout, in great shape in a very scenic setting. We'll be back.

Intimate St. Pete Elopement | Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club

Whitney and Ryne's intimate St. Petersburg beach wedding was an affair well worth the wait. Delayed over three times due to the pandemic, the 35-guest beachfront ceremony ended up perfectly representing the couple's elegant and cultured personalities.

“We went from a 200+ person wedding in my husband's hometown to a 35-person wedding here in St. Pete. As COVID worsened, we started looking into courthouse weddings in Chicago but decided that wasn't really our style. We considered a destination wedding here with a 100-person guest list, but it ended up being way out of our budget, and we couldn't cut the list down to just 100 without leaving important people out,” the bride explained. “So we switched gears to a Tampa courthouse wedding with our immediate families only. By the time we moved to Florida, COVID had gotten worse in Florida, and the courthouse stopped performing wedding ceremonies as well. I was completely overwhelmed and ready to throw in the towel. I started researching elopement-type weddings, even though it wasn't ever what we had imagined doing. I wanted to still make it a special day with our nearest and dearest without the price tag since we had just moved across the country.”

After what had felt like an impossible journey to the altar, a serendipitous scroll on Instagram led Whitney to the ideal solution for her wedding day woes, an intimate elopement planner.

“I came across Elope Tampa Bay on Instagram, and I thought the concept was so great. The selection of venues and pricing was almost too good to be true. So much so that I actually decided not to commit after my initial conversation with Emily and Melanie because my head was spinning in a million directions at the time. I think I had a little bit of PTSD and was afraid to get my hopes up about a real wedding again,” the bride shared. “Emily and Melanie, wedding planners with Elope Tampa Bay , are truly the sweetest people and a huge part of the reason that we were able to be excited about moving forward with the elopement-style wedding. They listened to my concerns and our budget and literally took all of the work out of my hands instantly. They never pushed us to spend more and actually helped us get a discount with the venue as well as provided a military discount. It was the first time in the entire wedding planning process that I truly felt at ease and like everything was going to work out. I didn't have to worry about a single thing, and it felt so good!”

While focusing on moving forward in the wedding planning process, the couple left Chicago in the rearview as they selected a venue conveniently located to their new Florida home. In addition to the private beach and marina, Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club offered the couple flexibility and backup options which were a huge stress relief to the bride.

“We wanted something on the beach without literally being on the beach. We also needed somewhere that would photograph well and have lots of different settings for pictures since it would be a short and sweet day,” Whitney shared. “We chose Isla Del Sol because of the beautiful location and convenience of where we live now. It had a tiled walkway so I wouldn’t have to walk in the sand in heels as I didn’t want to go barefoot, and the gazebo with the palm trees made for stunning photos. Their service was absolutely amazing. Their wedding coordinator was so sweet and helped everything go smoothly the day of. There was an indoor area for my husband and me to wait in the air conditioning while our guests arrived and got seated. They also had an indoor backup area to do the ceremony in case of inclement weather, which took away the stress of worrying about the afternoon Florida thunderstorms.”

Wanting to stay true to the details Whitney had planned for their original wedding, Elope Tampa Bay prioritized customizing the bride's bouquet with the exact blooms she had chosen before the pandemic even started.

“I was really obsessed with customizing my bouquet from the beginning of wedding planning, which was another thing that sold me on Elope Tampa Bay . They allowed me to pick whatever flowers I wanted and from multiple sizes. I sent a few example pictures from Pinterest and their florist literally killed it with what she put together! I loved it so much,” the bride gushed. “I always knew I wanted burgundy protea and blue thistle in my bouquet when I was planning our autumn wedding in the Midwest, so this helped me incorporate a little bit of my original wedding theme into our new plans.”

In order for the bride to feel as beautiful as her dream bouquet, Femme Akoi Beauty Studio created a beach-inspired glam look that kept her long blonde hair flowing in the beachy breeze while remaining effortlessly elegant.

While looking back on the long-anticipated ceremony, it was the moment she and Ryne locked eyes for the first time that brought back all the feelings.

“The most memorable moment for me was our first look. I was so freaking nervous and excited,” Whitney exclaimed. “My heart was pounding out of my chest like it was our first date. I’ll never forget the look on his face!”

The Proposal: Ryne and I rode bikes down to the lakefront of Lake Michigan in Chicago by our old apartment. We sat down on the steps near the trail that look directly across the lake into the skyline. I thought we were just hanging out enjoying one of the last nights of summer, and before I knew it, Ryne was down on one knee proposing. He had his best friend hide out in the background with a group of strangers that he gathered to help him take pictures of the proposal. His friend came out afterward and surprised us with a bottle of champagne. It was so sweet!

What did you look for in a wedding hair and makeup artist?

I looked for someone who could do both hair and makeup, and who could travel to me since I was going to be getting ready at home with my mom and sister. I also wanted someone who could give me a natural beachy look, nothing too glam.

Our planners recommended Femme Akoi Beauty Studio , and I was very happy with them. I went to my trial and hit it off with my stylist right away. She nailed my look on the first try and was so nice and personable.

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations and how? All of my vendors exceeded my expectations, but I have to say that our photographer was the star of the show. Our pictures turned out so amazing, I couldn’t imagine them any better. We get compliments on them every time anyone sees them hanging in our house, in our album, etc. She does really special work and was so much fun to be around the day of!

I am just writing this review after an initial visit to this location. I am not looking to change or sway anyone’s personal opinions and my intention is not to offend. I really just wish to let you know of my personal experience and feelings given my experience at this establishment. Thanks for reading!

We went for brunch. The omelet bar was eggcelent (sorry, couldn't help myself) ???? and the Bloody Mary was very good. Great selection and quality service.

Great breakfast buffet for $12 but you can only go if your a member. Beautiful pool area overlooking the water.

The staff at Isla are always so accommodating and friendly. It's often very clean and the food is wonderful. Whether you're wanting to dine inside or poolside, you should expect great service and food either way.

While on vacation we stopped in to find out the pricing on places here. My grandparents were thoroughly impressed. The landscaping was on point even just after Hurricane Michael had grazed the area a day before. This community is well kept and gorgeous. We drove around the entire complex several times to get a feel for the size and space. I hope my grandparents choose this place to stay.
