49' gulfstar vessel walkthrough.

From the aftdeck, you enter the sundeck via double teak & glass doors. Once inside the enclosed sundeck, you can walk out either side deck via wing doors, step up 3 steps to the flybridge or step down into the galley and dinette. You will find the galley to port and the dinette to starboard. Walk forward and step down into the laundry room, engine room entrance or the guest stateroom forward. Back in the galley-dinette, walk aft and step down the companionway to find a guest stateroom to port, guest head to starboard and the full-beam master stateroom aft. The large engine room is accessed via a door in the laundry room.

The headroom on the flybridge is 6'6", 6'3" in the sundeck, 6'7" in the galley-dinette, 6'3" in the laundry room, 6'4" in the forward guest stateroom, 6' in the forward guest stateroom shower, 4'9" in the engine room, 6'7" in the port guest stateroom, 6'1" in the port guest stateroom shower and 6'5" in the master stateroom and master stateroom shower. The master stateroom berth is 7' long, the port guest stateroom berth is 6'6" long and the forward guest stateroom berth is 6'5" long.

The height from the waterline to the top of the flybridge hardtop is 16'8".

Curtis Stokes was born in Lewes, Delaware and grew up in nearby Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and St. Michaels, MD until he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1992. Curtis grew up on the water and around boats through many years of fishing, sailing and hunting up and down the East Coast of the U.S. and The Bahamas.

Curtis’ yachting career includes everything from a 75’ Trumpy to a 180’ Feadship, 2½ circumnavigations and a half dozen Atlantic Ocean crossings. He has been associated with and enjoyed worldwide cruising on such well known vessels as EXCELLENCE, FIFFANELLA, OUR TOY, MOECCA, RENEGADE, KISSES and HUNTRESS. Curtis also gained experience as sales manager at Hatteras Yachts, in New Bern, NC, where he helped develop and sell new models and train and coordinate his dealer network.

Curtis then spent six years as a very successful yacht sales broker with The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals, Inc. Curtis was consistently a top producer at the firm. Curtis decided to form his own yacht sales and charter firm September 1, 2009, which took off on a very successful start, even in a recession! Curtis has grown the company to multiple offices and 50 full time sales associates located around the US; and he has sold virtually every type and size of yacht and boat possible.

Curtis held a USCG 3000 ton All Oceans Master license, UK MCA Class IV Master certificate, Cayman Islands Master certificate and a PADI Divemaster certificate. He is also a former Emergency Medical Technician, firefighter and CPR instructor.

A very efficient hull.

The Selene 49 is the next generation evolution of the very popular Selene 47. It features the Deep-Hull™ design and Cruiser Stern™ which improves headroom in the engine room and lazarette and makes the hull even more efficient than its predecessor. The Selene 49 has a very traditional « salty » look from the outside.

Another significant difference is a wider flybridge giving space for entertaining friends and family with style in the open air, with ample room on the aft deck for a dinghy and hydraulic crane. The flybridge layout with a canvas cover or a hard-top includes an L-shaped settee and table and a bar with sink and BBQ. The hull itself is deeper than the Selene 47 and is meant to carve through the water.

The longer LOA of the Selene 49 translates to an 8” increase in the cockpit and 4” more in the salon. The living space is large and spacious for the long cruising days. The salon is luxuriously finished in teak. Past the L-shaped dinette for four to port, the U-shaped galley forward has granite countertops and modern appliances, including a full-size refrigerator with freezer. The two or three-stateroom accommodations down below are spacious, due to the full hull sections forward. The master stateroom has a queen-size island berth with teak and holly steps on both sides, plus two large cedar-lined hanging lockers.

2,000 nm range

Headroom for the engine room has increased by a whole foot and the John Deere 6068AFM85 230HP@2300RPM engine is standard. The Selene 49 is an excellent long range cruising boat with a D/L ratio at full load of 316, and A/B ratio at full load of 2.54. At 1,800 rpm, the Selene 49 has a cruising speed of 7.5 knots for a range of 2,000 nautical miles.

The 49 also boasts an integral swim platform with a telescopic swim ladder, and beneath the 18″ hull extension Cruiser Stern™ there is extra room in the lazarette for storing gear and supplies, and at the same time greater buoyancy to offset the weight of the larger flybridge. As the flagship of the smaller Selenes, the Selene 49 boasts a level of luxury normally only found on its larger sisters in the range, but all in an affordable package that’s easy to handle as a couple

This 34-Foot Saxdor Yachts Sports Boat Is Maritime Perfection

While superyachts seem to get bigger and better in nearly impossible fashion (some concepts to the tune of $1 billion ), Finnish boatmaker Saxdor Yachts proposes something smaller, sleeker and seriously cool in the luxury boating category.

The just-announced Saxdor Yachts 340 GTWA , making its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, channels classic sport boats of days gone by, as the company builds off the success of previous sporting boat models. The 340 GTWA “is positioned as a keystone in Saxdor’s lineup, offering a long-awaited balance of size and functionality.”

The 34-foot boat is the company’s first wheelhouse walkaround model, boasting space for five-to-six people at its bow (which conveniently transitions into a sunbed). The helm boasts a sliding door for ease of access, while a three-person sofa gives the boat a more leisurely aspect. Its side terraces are “an exceptional feature for a boat of this size that truly sets this model apart in its category,” Saxdor Yachts notes.

A below-deck forward double cabin features what the company calls “ample natural light,” while an aft cabin can also accommodate two people for overnight trips as well as day cruises. The latest and greatest addition joins models like the Saxdor Yachts 400 GTC, embodying what the company calls “the brand’s dedication to delivering a superior boating experience through thoughtful design.”

The 340 model builds off the previous success of the carefully crafted 400 GTC, itself an ode to more accessible, streamlined and yet stylish boating. Saxdor Yachts notes the flagship 400 GTC, with two forward double cabins and a “luminous, cozy interior) is an ode to practicality as well as luxurious design: “Every inch is impeccably designed, balancing practicality with a sense of style that impresses at every glance.” For boating that goes above and beyond, the new 340 GTWA (price to be announced) appears to float handsomely among the existing Saxdor Yachts lineup.
