BENETTI ZAZOU: DESIGNED IN HARMONY

Giorgio m. cassetta and sinot yacht architecture & design have worked together to give benetti’s zazou a connected composition..

It’s quite normal in the superyacht business for shipyards to employ one studio to design the exterior and another to work on the interiors. This can lead to some slightly confused yachts. We’ve seen sporty coupés with classical wooden interiors and at the opposite end, traditional tri-deck yachts with leopard print furniture. And then you have Benetti’s Zazou, a 65-metre superyacht with perfectly entwined exterior and interior designs.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

Benetti turned to Giorgio M. Cassetta to pen Zazou’s lines, with the Rome-based studio creating a sporty, sleek look for the steel and aluminium hull. Cassetta is no stranger to the Benetti brand, having designed many of the Viareggio shipyards’ 60-metre-plus superyachts, but with its Carinthia Blue hull and white superstructure, Zazou really stands out.

There are no leopard print or pink zebra stripe surprises when you head inside Zazou. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design have created a look that perfectly matches the Benetti’s exteriors, working in complete harmony. As you step foot from the subtle cockpit into the main salon, you’re greeted with a light wood and grey theme with white marble and blue detailing – just what you’d expect with a blue and white exterior.

The Dutch architecture and design firm worked closely with the Owner on the custom furnishings, utilising exotic marble and a selection of over 120 types of wood, plus refined leathers, fabrics and natural materials with a variety of texture. These combine to create a sophisticated but comfortable interior setting, with an overall warm and welcoming ambiance.

The Owner’s cabin is located forward on the main deck and mirrors the main salon’s open feel. Here, a similar light colourway with blue accents create a tranquil area for the Owner to enjoy. The suite consists of a lounge with a TV, a double wardrobe, a large bed with a second TV and, on the port side, a generous bathroom with shower plus a private balcony reached through a sliding door.

Benetti describes Zazou’s lower deck amidships cabins as ‘the night area’, most probably as she has so much going on above, that the only time you’ll see the three double cabins and one guest cabin is after the sun goes down. The quarters for the 14 crew members are forward in the bow and aft is the light and breezy beach club. Guests can choose from two exterior openings: one in the stern providing access to the swim platform and another on the port side that becomes a second space at the water’s edge. The beach club lounge area features a low table, sofa and armchair, and Zazou’s water toys can also be stored there.

Guests will feel at home on the Benetti’s upper deck as the aft lounge mirrors the lower decks’ warm grey colourway with its white marble and subtle woods. Forward is the modern wheelhouse with an integrated Furuno dashboard and next to that is the office and captain’s cabin.

Thirty-six metres in length equals over 200 square metres of deck space devoted to relaxing, entertaining and socialising.

Wellness is also a big part of life on board Zazou too and the sun deck features a counter-current swimming pool forward and further aft, a gym area kitted out with high-end professional equipment. Aft, the sun pad can be converted into a scenic open-air cinema in the evening and the night can end around the 14-seat table with bar area.

Zazou has it all, and show’s it off without being overly flamboyant. She’s respectable, luxurious and impeccably finished – a real modern gem from Benetti.

Benetti is proud to announce the launch of M/Y “Zazou”, a 65-meter full custom yacht with sleek and sinuous lines. The steel hull was painted at the request of the owner, a repeat Benetti customer, in an elegant carinthia blue color; and the superstructure is made with aluminum. The external lines are by Giorgio M. Cassetta and the interiors, as well as some of the external spaces, are by the Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.

The yacht, which accommodates 12 people in 6 double cabins, has one of the largest Sun Decks in its category with a gym, a 5-meter-long swimming pool and an outdoor cinema on top of another cinema area on the Main Deck.

Two Caterpillar 3512C engines allow the yacht to navigate autonomously for 5,000 miles at a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Today, Livorno’s Benetti launched M/Y “Zazou”, a 65-meter full custom yacht whose hull is painted in carinthia blue. The explosive dynamism of the external lines was designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta who accentuated the sleek profile of the yacht. The Dutch studio, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, arranged the elegant interiors, some of the outdoor spaces, as well as many furnishing details: full custom designed build in furniture, bespoke cabinet handles and drawer pulls and a selection of refined light fixtures, chandeliers and special made retail furniture. The rooms are distinguished by a refined and welcoming style, characterized by soft tones and the alternation of precious materials among which multiple woods (oak, walnut, anigrè, macassar ebony, wengè and rosewood), marbles (travertine, navona, statuary, eramosa, bardiglio, white elba, sahara noire, white onyx) and different types of leathers and natural fabrics stand out.

The Sun Deck, whose length (over 20 meters) places the yacht at the top of its category, boasts an elegant infinity pool: 5 meters long and 1.5 meters deep at the tip of the bow. The masterful maximization of space allowed Benetti to furnish the deck with a gym, a pantry, a bathroom, a bar cabinet, a table seating 10 and a sundeck area at the stern that can be used for relaxing moments during the day or while navigating – and turns into an atmospheric open-air cinema in the evening.

The sky lounge on the Upper Deck integrates naturally with the welcoming aft outdoor spaces, furnished with custom furniture: two L-shaped sofas and a table for 8 people. Inside, on the same deck, a massage room, convertible into a double VIP cabin, precedes the large and modern wheelhouse with integrated bridge, the adjacent ship office and on the left side of the ship, the captain’s cabin and a pantry.

Aft of the Main Deck, an outdoor area that can be enjoyed at any time of the day is dedicated to conversation and relaxation. In the interior, amidships, the large and bright living area, consisting of a dining and relaxation space, is furnished in light colors and can be transformed into a technological cinema room, complete with every comfort. Also on the Main Deck, the owner’s suite consists of a lounge area with TV, double wardrobe, a large bed with a second TV. On the port side, we find a large bathroom with shower and a private balcony, accessible by a sliding door, is furnished with a small table and two armchairs.

The large beach area of the Lower Deck boasts two openings on the outside: one at the stern provides access to the beach, a space of about 25 square meters with immediate access to the sea. Meanwhile, a hatch on the left side of the yacht becomes a second platform on the water. In enclosed part of the beach club, a storage space for water toys is nearby a lounge area with table, sofa and armchairs. The sleeping area amidships includes 3 double cabins and 1 guest that can be converted into a double, thanks to sliding beds. Here, each cabin has different details, matched by original accessories and colors. Also on this deck but in a separate area is the modern galley, and at the bow the accommodations for 14 crew members.

An elevator connects the bridges between the Lower and the Upper Deck. The garage, forward of the Main Deck, houses a 7.5 meter tender, two jetskis and a rescue tender.

The engine room hosts a couple of Caterpillar 3512C for a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. The range at 12 knots is 5,000 miles.

The yacht will be delivered to her owner in the summer season.

The interior was crafted by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Sinot's Paul Costerus explains the design concept: "I like to think of the interior as a musical composition. When you hear it for the first time you like it, but when you listen to it for a second time you start to hear another instrument or a chord that you didn't hear before. If you walk on board Zazou you will notice that it's an embracing atmosphere. When you sit down you will start to discover all the little details which make the boat rich and luxurious." (quoted by Boat International )

Take a look inside the turnkey artwork collection, with pieces specially commissioned by artelier. the art collection drew on the influence of art history's masters, whose work is made fresh by contemporary european artists..

Large-scale ink paintings reference the hazy blend of water and sky on the horizon, capturing the essence of being at sea.

Contemporary paintings are inspired by mid-century Spanish artists, combining simplicity of line with dynamic abstract compositions.

The work of this contemporary wood artist is deeply influenced by modernist sculptors, such as Brancusi. Its twisting forms celebrate the materiality of wood, utilising the wood grain to create subtle surface variety.

Working in metal, this monumental wall art piece creates a vision of landscapes beyond the window – blending the distinction between the yacht and nature.

Unusual black porcelain sculptures evoke streams of moving water, that conceal a pearl hidden within the ocean depths.

Modern masters like Miró are referenced in contemporary paintings, that bring a playful edge to the interiors.

Abstract paintings and small sculptures draw on the textures of the sea, from patterns on water surfaces to the treasures of the seabed.

Benetti's latest superyacht has just hit the water at their Livorno shipyard in Italy . 65m (213ft) luxury yacht ZAZOU boasts a striking sapphire blue superstructure penned by Giorgio M.Cassetta, with Sinot Yacht Design behind her interiors and part of her exterior design too. She is expected to be delivered to her owner this summer.

Motor yacht ZAZOU will accommodate 12 guests in six cabins

Superyacht ZAZOU comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests in her six double staterooms. The generously sized master suite has its own private terrace, as well as a lounge area. The motor yacht also has capacity for up to 14 members of crew. 

Few photos have been released thus far, but what we do know is that she features an outdoor infinity pool on her voluminous fore sun deck that spans 20m, as well as a beach deck with a fold-down platform, an aft deck gym, bar and spacious dining area for up to 10 guests.

This luxury yacht has an abundance of water toys for guests to whip out too: including a 7.5m tender and two jet skis.

Will motor yacht ZAZOU be available for yacht charter?

It is not anticipated that M/Y ZAZOU will be available for crewed motor yacht charters upon delivery.

Benetti has launched a new yacht, a 65-meter called "Zazou". Finished in a Flag blue hull, more specifically called Carinthia Blue, the displacement superyacht has a design by Giorgio M. Cassetta with an interior by Sinot. Six (6) cabins are available for up to twelve (12) guests. A pair of CAT 3512C diesels are onboard and power this 65-meter vessel to 16-knots. At 12-knots she has a 5,000 nautical mile ocean crossing range.

I wonder if there is any connection between the 50-meter "Zazou" being for sale and this 65-meter launching with the same name. Here is what the older Zazou from 2016 looks like.

I like it. It's elegant, inside and out. I usually don't care for Cassetta's designs, particularly that 35M that Benetti has built so many of. But, this one looks stylish and well-proportioned. That flag-blue hall suits her as well.

Motor Yacht

Zazou I is a custom motor yacht launched in 2014 by Benetti, in Italy.

Over one century of history, more than 350 boats built including three giga yachts of 100mt and longer, over 300,000 sq m (3.229.173 sq.ft) of production facilities. These facts and figures unambiguously demonstrate the momentum of Benetti’s growth and Clients’ unrestrained confidence in the brand.

Zazou I measures 40.20 metres in length, with a max draft of 2.20 feet and a beam of 8.20 feet. She has a deck material of teak.

Zazou I has a composite hull with a composite superstructure.

Her interior design is by Zuretti.

Zazou I also features naval architecture by Stefano Righini Design.

Performance and Capabilities

Zazou I has a fuel capacity of 47,000 litres, and a water capacity of 7,000 litres.

Zazou I accommodates up to 11 guests in 5 cabins. She also houses room for up to 7 crew members.

Italian shipyard Benetti has presented the exceptional 65m/213ft luxury yacht ZAZOU , which boasts one of the largest sundecks in her size class at 36m/118ft long and an area of 200m2/2,153ft2.

Designed for dining, lounging and entertaining alfresco, there is a counter-current swimming pool forward and a gym aft outfitted with professional equipment. The aft sunbed can be converted into an alfresco cinema for films under the stars, with drinks served from the nearby wet bar and an alfresco dining table able to host up to 14 guests.

Giorgio M. Cassetta created her outward appearance, consisting of a Carinthia Blue steel and aluminium hull, while Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design worked on her interiors in collaboration with the Owner. Neutral colours and accents in sky blue are complemented by an array of textures, exotic marble and over 120 different types of wood.

The upper deck has a sky lounge and a massage room that can be converted into a double cabin, and on the main deck is the main salon with cutting-edge technology for screenings and presentations, and the Owner’s suite forward complete with a private balcony.

The lower deck provides another spacious lounge within the beach club, and there is plenty of storage for a variety of water toys. The accommodation for guests consists of three double cabins and one further guest cabin, while the crew quarters sleep 14.

M/Y ZAZOU was delivered in 2021 and is now enjoying a second successful summer season cruising in the Mediterranean charter grounds. Her twin Caterpillar 3512C engines grant a maximum speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a transatlantic range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Benetti launches Zazou

Full custom designed build in furniture, bespoke cabinet handles and drawer pulls and a selection of refined light fixtures, chandeliers and special made retail furniture. The rooms are distinguished by a refined and welcoming style, characterised by soft tones and the alternation of precious materials among which multiple woods (oak, walnut, anigrè, macassar ebony, wengè and rosewood), marbles (travertine, navona, statuary, eramosa, bardiglio, white elba, sahara noire, white onyx) and different types of leathers and natural fabrics stand out.

The sun deck, whose length (over 20m) places the yacht at the top of its category, boasts an elegant infinity pool: 5m long and 1.5m deep at the tip of the bow. The masterful maximisation of space allowed Benetti to furnish the deck with a gym, a pantry, a bathroom, a bar cabinet, a table seating for ten and a sundeck area at the stern that can be used for relaxing moments during the day or while navigating – and turns into an atmospheric open-air cinema in the evening.

The sky lounge on the upper deck integrates naturally with the welcoming aft outdoor spaces, furnished with custom furniture: two L-shaped sofas and a table for eight people. Inside, on the same deck, a massage room, convertible into a double VIP cabin, precedes the large and modern wheelhouse with integrated bridge, the adjacent ship office and on the left side of the ship, the captain’s cabin and a pantry. Aft of the main deck, an outdoor area that can be enjoyed at any time of the day is dedicated to conversation and relaxation. In the interior, amidships, the large and bright living area, consisting of a dining and relaxation space, is furnished in light colours and can be transformed into a technological cinema room, complete with every comfort. Also on the main deck, the owner’s suite consists of a lounge area with TV, double wardrobe, a large bed with a second TV. On the port side, we find a large bathroom with shower and a private balcony, accessible by a sliding door, is furnished with a small table and two armchairs.

The large beach area of ​​the lower deck boasts two openings on the outside: one at the stern provides access to the beach, a space of about 25m 2 with immediate access to the sea. Meanwhile, a hatch on the left side of the yacht becomes a second platform on the water. In enclosed part of the beach club, a storage space for water toys is nearby a lounge area with table, sofa and armchairs. The sleeping area amidships includes three double cabins and one that can be converted into a double, thanks to sliding beds. Here, each cabin has different details, matched by original accessories and colours. Also on this deck but in a separate area is the modern galley, and at the bow the accommodations for fourteen crew members. An elevator connects the bridges between the lower and the upper deck. The garage, forward of the main deck, houses a 7.5m tender, two jetskis and a rescue tender. The engine room hosts a couple of Caterpillar 3512C for a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. The range at 12 knots is 5,000nm.

The yacht will be delivered to her owner in the summer season.
